Keskodai will gingerly take the tools from Navasi. "I'd just hate to see you go the way of the goblin," he says as he turns to attempt to juryrig the computer back to semi-functional condition.

Going to use Communalism - roll twice and take the better, as long as someone stays within 10 ft of Keskodai

After some tinkering, Keskodai steps in, an dwith concerted efforts manages to return the mainframe to a somewhat working order.

The main touch screen of the mainframe lights up and states:

<ENTER PASSCODE> _______

Obozaya snaps her fingers and says,

Ah ha! I'm no genius but I think I got this one!

She tries entering the tattoo'd numbers 5731170.

Keskodai flinches as Obozaya begins punching numbers into the computer. "I, uh... I think even goblins are smart enough to not tattoo their passwords onto their bodies," he feebly protests while stepping away from the vesk.

Boop-bee-boop the computer goes and grants some kind of access. It's quite clear that the main functionality is still locked out, but at least something is accessible, and what is accessible, can be hacked.

I'd need a computers check for that

Aramesh Maageri agender CG medium monstrous humanoid envoy 6 grifter | SP 12/36 HP 39/39 | RP 7/7 | EAC 16; KAC 17 | Fort +2; Ref +7; Will +6 | Init: +6 | Perc: +9, SM: +10 | Speed 30 ft, fly 20 ft (Ex) | Active conditions: none

Obozaya smiles, shakes her head and says just one word, "Goblins....."

Looking over at Keskodai, Obozaya waves him back over to the terminal.

"Either you or Navasi want to take a look at this?"

Navasi steps up to the mainframe and starts typing at the shoddy keyboard. ”Okay, let’s see what’s behind door number one...”

Computers: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12

Jeez. I’d love to roll something higher than a 4 in this section. Ugh.

Keskodai apologetically shoos Navasi out of the way. "I think it's something more like... this."

Computers: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16

[Narrator Voice]It wasn't.[/Narrator Voice]

Altronus watches in trepidation, prepared to dive out of the way if needed, when Obozaya charges in to type the number into the mainframe. To his relief, nothing unpleasant happens to any of them. While Navasi and Keskodai gather around the keyboard to take a closer look, Altronus prowls around the control room to look for further clues. He is reminded of the thing the soldier found when they first entered the room.

"What was that keycard you picked up, Obozaya? Can you tell what it is for?"

Altronus secretly wishes he had chosen to become a mechanic instead. Or an operative. Or a technomancer. Any career path involving technological skills, really, he's not too picky.

Aramesh Maageri agender CG medium monstrous humanoid envoy 6 grifter | SP 12/36 HP 39/39 | RP 7/7 | EAC 16; KAC 17 | Fort +2; Ref +7; Will +6 | Init: +6 | Perc: +9, SM: +10 | Speed 30 ft, fly 20 ft (Ex) | Active conditions: none

Obozaya shrugs.

It's a key card. It's for inserting into a key card slot, as far as I can tell...

After a second, Obozaya picks up on the hint and also begins searching around the room, paying particular attention to where the key card may be inserted.

With some effort, Keskodai manages to get access to a simple menu that says

1. Lights
2. Doors
3. Alarm
4. Temperature

Altronus wanders back to the computer when it looks like they figured something out. "Well, of those options I suppose opening doors could be useful. Depending on where the specific doors are, and what they lead to. Unless... do you think 'Alarm' is supposed to set off an alarm or shut one down? I would be in favor of halting those annoying pinging sounds."

Aramesh Maageri agender CG medium monstrous humanoid envoy 6 grifter | SP 12/36 HP 39/39 | RP 7/7 | EAC 16; KAC 17 | Fort +2; Ref +7; Will +6 | Init: +6 | Perc: +9, SM: +10 | Speed 30 ft, fly 20 ft (Ex) | Active conditions: none

I assume our search around revealed nothing, including searching Gutproud's body? And earlier trying to look at the alarm panel to see what alarms have gone off also revealed nothing? Does this room we're standing in have a door or some other exit aside from the way we came in?

| AbadarCorp Entertainment Official GM | How is my flying? | DICEBOT LOVES YOU |Starship combat cheat sheet | STEAL THIS TEMPLATE | Traveling until Jan 3, reduced posting frequency expected

There was nothing of value on Gutproud, other than a very charred screwdriver

The opposite side of the hangar contains an airlock. With the access to the mainframe, opening it becomes a trivial matter (option 2: doors).

A thick plume of steam rolls out from the freshly opened doors. After a moment, the steam evaporates, revealing a marked transition into an entirely different area—a section of an entirely different starship. Where the hangar bay had straight lines and smooth plastic walls, this elevator has exposed cords and wires in varying dark shades such as charcoal and umber.

Aramesh Maageri agender CG medium monstrous humanoid envoy 6 grifter | SP 12/36 HP 39/39 | RP 7/7 | EAC 16; KAC 17 | Fort +2; Ref +7; Will +6 | Init: +6 | Perc: +9, SM: +10 | Speed 30 ft, fly 20 ft (Ex) | Active conditions: none

Obozaya will enter first, rifle in hand. Once in the elevator, if all is clear, she'll motion everyone else in and look around for elevator control buttons.

Perception: 1d20 ⇒ 7

Altronus follows closely behind Obozaya and then remarks dryly, “It appears this ship has seen better days.” He tries to avoid touching any of the exposed wires, but he looks around for any clues to what vessel this one is, or what has been happening to it lately.

Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (12) + 7 = 19

Are we in the place labeled B3 on the map?

Aramesh Maageri agender CG medium monstrous humanoid envoy 6 grifter | SP 12/36 HP 39/39 | RP 7/7 | EAC 16; KAC 17 | Fort +2; Ref +7; Will +6 | Init: +6 | Perc: +9, SM: +10 | Speed 30 ft, fly 20 ft (Ex) | Active conditions: none

Oh! I didn't realize more of the map has been revealed! I've moved the Obozaya token into the elevator on the new, unrevealed level (assuming the elevator is B3).

Obozaya looks thoughtful for a minute then says, "You know, if selecting doors on the computer menu activates a shut down door, I'm guessing selecting temperature and lights will activate shut down temperature control and lights. You guys wanna try selecting those on the computer before we head down this elevator? Either way, I'm ready to see where this goes when you guys are."

Obozaya positions herself within the elevator in front of the doors so that when they go to the next level and the doors open, she'll be the first to encounter whatever is on the other side.

| AbadarCorp Entertainment Official GM | How is my flying? | DICEBOT LOVES YOU |Starship combat cheat sheet | STEAL THIS TEMPLATE | Traveling until Jan 3, reduced posting frequency expected

There's a singsong voice in an unknown, alien language that sounds inviting in a way. Soft lights wash over a smooth, wet surface at the elevator’s southern wall. Scores of holographic glyphs appear in three spiraling patterns foreign to the Pact Worlds, though fortunately the goblins' explanations were clear enough to identify the correct sequence.

"This is all very... interesting," Altronus murmurs, not sure how to take the strange words and the light display. "At least the elevator is still working." He pushes on the strange glyphs that the goblins have indicated, and then stands next to Obozaya, waiting to see what will be revealed next.

Moved on the map

Keskodai follows behind the vesk and kasatha, silently watching the glyphs in awe. He turns his son's containment chamber towards them so he can get a better look.

Navasi follows the kasatha, using her infrared sensors to scope out the darkness while keeping her finger on the trigger of her pistol.

With everyone in the elevator, ready to go, Obozaya hits the buttons to advance to the next level and open the doors.

The elevator door closes, and the thing rockets off to a lower level. Then, the elevator doors open into a rectangular storage room that shares the same design as the hangar bay above. A mesh grating just beyond the western elevator door overlooks stacked crates below. An adjacent set of stairs descends to the floor. A second set of stairs continues to a separate, stone chamber to the east.

There's the loud sound of something eating coming from the southeast corner.

Aramesh Maageri agender CG medium monstrous humanoid envoy 6 grifter | SP 12/36 HP 39/39 | RP 7/7 | EAC 16; KAC 17 | Fort +2; Ref +7; Will +6 | Init: +6 | Perc: +9, SM: +10 | Speed 30 ft, fly 20 ft (Ex) | Active conditions: none

I assume we cannot yet see what is eating over in the SE corner, correct?

Obozaya whispers to Navasi, "Think you can make friends with whatever is down there? Sounds like it likes to eat...I've got rations you can offer up in friendship. I'll stay at the top of the stairs though, so if it gets hostile, it'll have to get through me first."

Obozaya moves as quietly as possible to the top of the stairs, waiting to see if the unidentified creature will turn out to be friend or foe.

Obozaya sneaks around and hear a chop-chop-chop sounds, and a deep, slightly familiar voice say Finally summin' to eat, huh. C'mon Bago, han'me more 'o that.

Altronus leans forward eagerly when he catches the name Bago coming from below. Is he still alive after all? And that voice... one of the other crew members from that recording, perhaps?

He attempts to quietly follow Obozaya out onto the grating to get a better look.

Stealth: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11

How far down is the room? Does it take extra movement to descend the stairs?

Obozaya whispers back to the group (or via comms if that's more subtle), "Sounds like Bago is here. He's Livewire's friend, the one Livewire called 'hairless monkey.' The other voice is familiar..."

Obozaya tries to recognize the other voice based upon the audio logs found in the cockpit earlier.

Any roll possible to try and recognize the voice?

Keskodai follows after Altronus and Obozoya, figuring he can't be any louder than Altronus.

Stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6

He figures wrong.

Oh, I thought everyone heard that, not just Obozaya. Sorry to go galumphing through your scouting moment. Also, Keskodai is hilarious. Nice job, hehe.

| AbadarCorp Entertainment Official GM | How is my flying? | DICEBOT LOVES YOU |Starship combat cheat sheet | STEAL THIS TEMPLATE | Traveling until Jan 3, reduced posting frequency expected

What, why, you! There's a deep, thundering voice coming from the deep end on the underground location, let's get 'em Bago one of the voices, clearly Borgor from the audiotape, says.

Yes... Borgor... a second voice responds.

A huge, two-headed humanoid appears, looking quite unfriendly

No worries!! It's all good!!

After hearing Borgor and Bago declare their hostile intentions, Obozaya immediately yells, "Wait! We're not here to fight! We're Livewire's friends! He's alive! And Bago, Livewire says he misses you, you hairless monkey!"

Obozaya yells the above statement out of turn, not taking any actual actions until her turn.

The growling head that sounds like Borgor growls, but Bago says Hairless money... that's what Livewire used to call me. He seems to snap out of his dazed state and starts yelling Borgor, you monster!

It is a strange sight, to see the two-headed humanoid fight among itself. The one head starts headbutting the other, and as a pair the towering monster looks a lot less intimidating.

Borgor still seems intent on drawing blood from the party I will kill you all, and then I will kill you, Bago! I will crack your skull!
