As a heads up, I'll be at PAX from today through Sunday and may have some inconsistent posting until Monday as a result. I'll try to get a couple of posts in, but long convention days can make that challenging.

Starship Actions ; Live Exploration Extreme!

Understood. Thanks for the heads up and have a great time!

GM - how long do we have to go do you think?

Starship Actions ; Live Exploration Extreme!

I'd estimate about two weeks, perhaps less if the posting rate picks up. I don't anticipate having to go all the way to the Outpost end date of April 30. If you'd like a bit more detail and don't mind spoilers, drop me a PM

Starship Actions ; Live Exploration Extreme!

I forgot if I mentioned this, but just a side note. The image of Yotto in the slides didn't come out as nicely as I'd hoped. If it wasn't apparent, those purple things is a purple vapor coming out of Yotto's eyes...

Actually, the pic of Yotto looks sweet as is. :>

Starship Actions ; Live Exploration Extreme!

Hey guys, we're getting close to the end here so I'd like to ask everyone to take a minute and review your character details on slide 2. The information written in there on slide 2 is what I will use to put together everyone's chronicles. Thanks!!

Starship Actions ; Live Exploration Extreme!

Primary Success Condition: You have to retrieve the data and escape the horrific Struggle's Scholar alive! You've succeeded.

Secondary Success Condition: You depart the Struggle's Scholar with at least one item from each crewmember to be returned to the Idari. These include all the items that were placed on the beds, any of Blue Sky-101's limbs from the cargo area, anything belonging to the captain, including his power armor, and the pilot's silk mouth scarf. You've succeeded here and I was particularly glad that Kali grabbed the arms and legs as they're easy for any given party to mistakenly ignore.

In addition, the Exo-Guardians were so impressed with you completing the primary mission, everyone receives one extra Exo-Guardians reputation point.

The chronicles are located here: CLICK

Please let me know if there are any corrections needed. In about a day, I will report the game to the Outpost Con organizers and sometime after that they'll report the game to the Paizo site.

And finally, I know that from the clues you've received, it may be difficult to piece together what exactly happened on this little ship of horrors. Not fully understanding adds to the creepiness of this seemingly haunted ghost ship. But now that the scenario is over, feel free to ask me any questions about what really happened here and I'll be happy to explain!!

I hope everyone enjoyed the scenario and thanks for playing!

My chronicle looks great bigboom!

Thanks for running the game for us! You did a stellar job keeping the pace running high despite that demoralizingly long space combat. And your creepy ship descriptions were awesome (particularly the unstoppable turret :>).

I think I have the gist of the story of the ship, but please correct me if I'm wrong:
- The Struggle's Scholar was escaping via the drift when something came in from either the material plane or another plane. The something hit the ship, unluckily killing Yotto in the process.
- The something was carrying the xill, though Teliu's logs show that the crew didn't realize that. Plus the something either left or was forced away from the ship soon after (maybe after depositing xill eggs?).
- Blue sky is unlucky enough to visit the cargo room after the xill decides to show itself. They get killed.
- Meanwhile, since Yotto died while in the drift she reanimated as a ghost. Oops. The logs talk about them trapping her with the captain in a force field. Though this takes the ship's power, and they don't have much to spare, so the crew preps for the inevitable fight against the ghost. They don't realize the xill is around too.
- It kills everyone else (?) and then hangs out until the party gets there.

Thanks BB. Great job. Much appreciated.

Starship Actions ; Live Exploration Extreme!

Pretty close...

When the ship left Sangoro's Bulwark, Yotto was upset about something but we don't know what.

While traveling in the Drift, Yotto was in the cargo bay for some unknown reason (perhaps related to her being upset about leaving Sangoro's Bulwark) when the ship collided with the lava-filled asteroids that you also encountered.

The collision caused severe hull damage, the spurt of lava melted those crates into the hull, and the containment field automatically went up. But Yotto also died in the collision. The engine also suffered pretty bad damage and their power situation was looking grim.

Having died in the Drift, Yotto comes back as driftdead and the crew lose their captain who sacrificed herself to contain the driftdead Yotto.

At this point, with the engine failing, the crew knows their chances of survival are slim and they begin their last rites ceremony in the mess.

But their cup of bad luck runneth over as some adult xills plane shift onto the ship and attacks them, slaughtering them and implanting them with larvae. Blue Sky-101, in a desperate gambit, lures one xill into the cargo bay and deactivates the containment field, spacing it, but he gets his limbs ripped off and the rest of his android body gets spaced as well.

The crew dead and implanted with larvae, the remaining adults plane shift back to their home.

The xill you fought on the bridge was recently hatched from the larvae implanted in the pilot and is still pretty young but was unable to plane shift home because the storm outside was causing interference. As if this didn't frustrate it enough, it was also trapped on the bridge because the door had no power until you guys entered.

Exo-Guardians

Male CG Human Icon Soldier 1 | SP: 0/8, HP: 11/11, RP: 3/4 | EAC: 17 15, KAC: 19 17 | F: +3, R: +2, W: +2 | Init: +6 | Perc: +0, SM: +0 | Speed: 30ft 35ft | Pistol ammo: 9/9 | Active Conditions: None

Thanks GM, what a great game for my first Starfinder experience! Ran really smoothly, very atmospheric descriptions.

Chronicle looks good, just have to read the guide to work out how to fill in the rest.

Thanks also to all the other PCs, what a great group it's been, hope to play with you again in the future.

Starship Actions ; Live Exploration Extreme!

Lucas, I can easily fill in the rest for you if you like, especially if this is your character's first chronicle.

Just let me know if you would like to make any purchases and I'll note them down!

Exo-Guardians

Male CG Human Icon Soldier 1 | SP: 0/8, HP: 11/11, RP: 3/4 | EAC: 17 15, KAC: 19 17 | F: +3, R: +2, W: +2 | Init: +6 | Perc: +0, SM: +0 | Speed: 30ft 35ft | Pistol ammo: 9/9 | Active Conditions: None

I've had a quick look through the guide, doesn't look too dissimilar to filling in a PFS chronicle. I think I've sorted it, thanks GM.

Starship Actions ; Live Exploration Extreme!

No problem and yep, it's pretty much the same. Thanks for playing!!

Starship Actions ; Live Exploration Extreme!

Alrighty, I've reported the session to the con organizers so you'll see this game reflected on the Paizo site probably within about a week.

I'll mark this campaign as inactive in about another day or so. Thanks again everyone for playing!

*thumbs up*

I'd love to play another game you're GMing (though at this point that'd be only 1-03 and 1-09, which I'm waiting to play with my 701, who is currently in a game)! I will be keeping any eye out! :>

Starship Actions ; Live Exploration Extreme!

Both of those are very fun, interesting scenarios! 1-03 is great for a more thoughtful sci-fi story whereas 1-09 is good for some wacky humor.

I'll take a break from GMing for a bit while other Outpost games are wrapping up. After that, I'm thinking I'll probably run the level 1 repeatable Into the Unknown.

I figure I'll get to 1-09 at some point but it may be a while. However, I think your 701 is in the same Half Alive Streets game as one of my characters. When that game finishes up, drop me a reminder and I'll see if I'm in a good position to run 1-09 at that time!
