I am imagining the reaction cannon to sort of be like the brute shot from halo. Anybody know what it actually looks/functions like?
Sure do! I think I know Tsavo highway better than the street I live on, haha. Come to think of it, Doshkos look an awful lot like gravity hammers...
Hakrinag Bonecrusher |
Good point! Looking into Halo lore might help me shape this character (and subsequent ones) a little better. Brutes and Elites being the obvious focuses.

Sorry, Paizo site has not been kind to me the last few days. Only just managed to get in but I really need to get to bed. Will try to update in approximately 12 hours.
Asier-23-7 |
Sorry I haven't been posting much this week! Between the site outages, some burnout from taking on way too many games for GameDay, and a cold, I've really been out of it. I'm going to try getting my posting back up to daily, if not more regularly, but there are a couple of things this weekend and next week.
This weekend I am going LARPing in the first time in months, but I won't have a computer to sit down at and my phone's battery is not the longest lasting. Next week, starting Wednesday, the busiest time of the year for work is going to start, while my evenings and early mornings are free, I might be too exhausted to get regular posts in. During both of these times, I'll try my best to get regular posts in but feel free to bot me as needed!
GM kuey |
Hi, due the late start of this game for the 2nd slot, and the various outages, we are not likely to finish by the official end of GD6. Nonetheless, I'm going to report the game by 17 Nov. Going to assume everyone survives and you succeed in both the primary and secondary conditions. That's a given right? :)
I noticed that none of you have made day job rolls. If you have day jobs, please roll and update the table over here.
Also, let's roll for boons. Roll a d20, and a 19 or 20 earns you one. If so, roll another d2 to determine which boon you get.
GM boon: 1d20 ⇒ 13
Daramak |
Hey, sorry I've been posting sporadically. My old computer died and I had to get a new one.
Boon?: 1d20 ⇒ 18
So close, haha.
No day job here.
GM Kuey, I don't know when you plan on doing chronicles, but when you do could you mark off that I'm using the level 1 rebuild? Nothing major, I just want to switch Daramak's Scholar Focus to Life Science (Bioengineering) to better match his habit of adding cybernetics and bionetics(?) to anything with a pulse.
Asier-23-7 |
Asier has not a day job, though I have thought about giving Suzuta one...
Boon!: 1d20 ⇒ 10
Antares-1 |
Thanks GM Kuey!
Boon Roll DRR: 1d20 ⇒ 9
Day Job (Archaeologist) Roll DRR: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15

A heads up from me. I'm leaving for the woods later today and I will get back on Sunday. I will probably have my phone only so posting will be slower and a little condensed. Feel free to bot me if necessary.
GM kuey |
I have already reported the game, because today is the last day of GD6 and the organisers need to collate and submit. I've gone ahead and submit as mission success. If things should turn out differently, I'll update the organisers to correct. But that's not going to happen, right? :)

What are those crates made of? Could they take a grenade in the face without falling a part and destroying the creature's cover?
Yes, I -do- play XCOM! (for those of you who just asked yourselves)
GM kuey |
The crates are made of wood and about an inch thick. Depending on the damage you roll for the grenade, yes it could blow the crates apart. However, it would still have cover from being on the scaffolding which is 10ft high, unless it moves to the edge for whatever reason. (In fact, if Eli moves any closer to the scaffolding, it would be completely blocked from her view.)

As we are coming to the end of the scenario, I am thinking of running 1-02 Fugitive on the Red Planet. Wondering if any of you are keen if you have not played it yet? (Note that it is not repeatable. Separately, there is no starship combat.)

I'll be level 2 for that one, yah, count me in!

LOVE that game! I've been a fan since the original came out back in the 90's. :)
As far as -02 goes, I'd love to stick with you all, but will have to bow out, as I played that one last GenCon, as a matter of fact. Was my first Starfinder game! If you all get around to playing -05 though, do send me a PM!
Daramak |
I'd be interested, but I might like to try playing a different character (Daramak's alright, but he's a bit of a wet blanket and his skillset is somewhat redundant). That would put me behind in XP by 1, so I would understand if you guys want to find someone else instead. Let me know what you guys think.
Daramak |
True, although that would effectively be killing this character. I'm not sure I'm ready to go that far, yet. He's just a bit dull and I'd like to try something different for awhile.
Eli Scone |
Not necessarily. I actually saw people play a fighter (or some other tankier class) for the first 3 scenarios (for BAB, extra feats, HP, and so on), and then just remake the character completely under the same name and with the same faction 'slotted'.
You have the option to try other stuff out until you level up to 2.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the second the scenario sheet is handed to you leveling you up, you are the next level. No changes or take backs. Because, its the physical sheets that matter, not anything posted on Paizo's website. You can't delay leveling up, either, correct?
Also, as a player and GM, I find that the spirit of that rule is to make minor tweaks to a character, maybe reallocate your stats differently, or take a different feat or something. I've never understood how one can go from a half-orc 2h fighter to a gnome wizard or something else equally different. However, even I must admit that I have done such drastic changes myself. I made a CORE Rogue (to fill a spot quickly for a local con). Couldn't stand it at all (playing CORE). When it was done I made the character completely differently (as I already have/play a rogue) into something new.
GM kuey |
I mean you can always just remake the character completely. Unless this scenario levels you up to 2.
Technically, you can rebuild your character until the first time you play him in a scenario above level 1. So even if this scenario levels you to level 2, you can rebuild him before going into the next scenario.
And don't worry about "killing" your character. He can always be "reborn" later with exactly the same stats. I had a PFS character die in his very first mission, so I left him in cold storage for a bit. Later, realised where I want to take him and created him again with a new PFS number, with some tweaks.
Daramak |
Hmm. I'm not really sure, sorry. I had a blast playing with you all, but maybe I had best bow out for now until I decide what kind of character I want to play. Sorry! But hopefully I will be able to play again sometime with you guys!
Asier-23-7 |
Also you don't need to worry too much about redundancy with skills, I can't play -02 I've played it with a different character and even just finished GMing it. If you look at going on to -03, -04, or -05 feel free to PM me.
Daramak |
I'm working on statting up a Technomancer at the moment, (0xp though, since I don't want to retrain Daramak), and was wondering if you guys would be ok if they tag along for 02? It's occurred to me that Society play makes allowances for mixed-level parties, and as Asier-23-7 pointed out you won't have Asier-23-7 or Antares-1 (so a tech specialist won't be redundant), but I completely understand if you'd rather recruit someone else.
GM kuey |
Sure, by all means! Yes, it is the norm for parties to be mixed level. 1-02 is a tier 1-4 game, with games divided between sub-tier 1-2 or 3-4.
So the game's done. I'll have the chronicle sheets ready in a few days and also get 1-02 set up. So to confirm, I will have Madrigal, Hakrinag, Eli, and Phformian's technomancer going into that. Will recruit for the rest.
Thanks for playing!
Antares-1 |
Yes, that was a lot of fun. Good gaming with you all and thanks for running the game, Kuey!

Madrigal is up and ready to go at level 2. Just need the chronicle sheet to get credits/rep and get the buying completed, and then ready to go.
Asier-23-7 |
That was a lot of fun! Sorry for dropping off near the end. I hope you have a great time with the next adventure and feel free to give Asier a message if you need a mechanic for any further adventures!
GM kuey |
The chronicle sheets are ready. Please let me know if there's any mistakes. Daramak, if this is the first time you're playing with this character, I've also included the Welcome to Starfinder boon.
- Madrigal, you rolled your day job twice. Will take your first.
- Antares-1, ditto.
- Those who bought the album Star Sugar Heartlove!!! will have the 50 credits deducted from your total chronicle.
- Daramak, Antares-1, sorry I forgot to ask your starting reputation, so that section at the bottom is blank for your to fill in. Basically, before the "|", write down your previous reputation (0 if this is your first game). Then after the "|", add 2 to that.
Will also put up a link to the chronicle sheets at the top of the page.
Will be creating the campaign for 1-02 shortly.
Madrigal Seraphine |
Many thanks! When I get hope I will finish updating this character and will be ready to go and have fun!
For every else who bought the album, you going to sell it for 200 credits, or are you going to hold on to it?
Antares-1 |
Got it, thanks again Kuey! I'll be looking for future Starfinder adventures with you and the others! :)
GM kuey |
Alright, the discussion thread for Fugitive on the Red Planet is up. Madrigal, Hakrinag, Eli, and Phformian's technomancer, please report there. I'll have one other person confirmed, and will recruit one more at Flaxseed.
Sedoriku and Stiehle, it was a pleasure playing with you. I'm sure we'll cross paths again. :)
Asier-23-7 |
Dang I forgot to say something but Asier would definitely pitch in some money as well!
Asier-23-7 |
But I hadn't said anything yet, so it probably is important for the numbers. (6 vs. 5)
