Remi of Castrovel |
Remi stares hard at Mr Philt, trying to assess whether he's being honest in his offer.
Sense motive?: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (5) + 1 = 6
Assuming we get to speak in private
{It sounds like he has information we need, but are we sure about handing Talbot over to Abadar Corp? I feel uneasy about that when we don't know what this Mr Philt wants with him. I could try to detect his thoughts, but he might notice that I'm doing it.} She looks around at the others, wondering what they think of the offer.
GM Aerondor |
You can certainly discuss things in private for a minute or two.
If you want to know what he wants Talbot for, you could always try askign...
Blake-03 |
"No. We would rather he not end up dead," Blake says without emotion. "He was a member of the Starfinders, even if he did go rotten."
GM Aerondor |
"Mr Talbot approached our buyers in Maro with a new alternative fuel for Drift engines. We purchased a sample for analysis which checked out...We purchased in good faith, however it appears to have been unstable and reverted to an inert form of little use to us. This appears to be a case of outright fraud and we wish to ensure that he doesn't do this again."
He thinks over Blake's words. "This is not a capital crime, but he will end up doing some length of time on Varos if we have our way."
Sebrir Feedbringer |
Sebrir thinks for a moment. "If he defrauded you, then he probably does deserve to be interned for a while. I think it would be acceptable for us to work together to find him, in this case. Do you agree, my friends?" Sebrir checks with his allies for any disagreement.
Remi of Castrovel |
Remi considers the situation. {If Venture-Captain Arvin was right, then Talbot may not have been intentionally defrauding anyone. But AbadarCorp does have a legitimate complaint.}
Aloud, she simply says with a short nod, "I agree."
GM Aerondor |
A deep booming female voice echoes from outside the front of the bar. “Intruders! We know you’ve come to Tasch in search of our savior. I give you this one chance. Lay down your weapons and leave our town. You will not disrupt the salvation of Akiton, not when Reynald Talbot has come so close to saving our world! You have one minute to decide.[”
Mr Philt and his bodyguards step back, looking alarmed.
Blake-03 |
"That seems perfectly reas--" Blake begins to say before being interrupted by the voice outside.
"Who even knew we were coming? They must mean AbadarCorp."
Remi of Castrovel |
Remi responds to Blake, {Well, maybe, but I have a feeling we're not going to get out of this that easily. I'll try to find out what's happening.} She moves over to the space next to the front entrance and presses her back flat against the wall, and then stealthily tries to lean into the doorway to catch a glimpse of who the owner of that booming voice is.
You said the front entrance is a waist-high half door, so I want to try peeking over the top without being seen
Stealth: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
GM Aerondor |
The three creatures move to block your departure.
You can't stealth while under observations
"Not so fast..."
Remi of Castrovel |
Which three creatures? I wasn't trying to stealth from the AbadarCorp guys, just from the people outside. But if it's not possible that's fine.
Sebrir Feedbringer |
"Oh, my dear new friends, we have no interest in disrupting anything! We are simply looking for a former member of our group in order to determine where our property has absconded to... we have no interest in disrupting anything!"
Bluff: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
GM Aerondor |
"I don't think so..." she says as the Shobhad directs a glare at Sebrir. Her offsider pulls a laser pistol...

Remi of Castrovel |
Oh boy, here we go. The weapons have come out. Remi sighs. She dislikes when everyone jumps straight into the violence, but it does seems like this Shobhad came picking a fight. She draws her own laser pistol but hesitates to shoot someone who hasn't actually attacked them. Seeing Oboyaza diving for cover, she instead fires a shot just past the ysoki's pistol arm, hoping to provide a distraction that will aid her companion.
Covering fire for Oboyaza: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
Well, it failed, but I tried.
Blake-03 |
"Take cover, Sebrir," Blake cautions as he draws his pistol and rushes for cover behind the bar.
Move: Move 30 ft
Sebrir Feedbringer |
"Ack! You don't need to start SHOOTING!! Dear viewers, you can clearly see that these brutes attacked us first! We'll obviously have to defend ourselves!"
Sebrir grabs a table, flips it, and makes himself a makeshift barricade. Using my Barricade feat to make myself some cover, shown on the map.
Then he draws his azimuth pistol and gets ready to fire. Move action, then another Move action.
Remi of Castrovel |
Woah, there's a map? I did not realize until now. That would have greatly helped my confusion over the situation. Sorry, that was my bad...
GM Aerondor |
Revvy draws and fires, the Ysoki squeaks in pain as he is winged by the cannon. Blake draws his own pistol and dives for cover. Sebrir provides his own cover with a conveniently overturned table. The glassware makes a satisfying crash on the ground as it shatters into thousands of shards.
The injured Ysoki fires back at the rapdily advancing form of Revvy, while the Shobhad continues to glare at him. The warrior feels a blinding pain in his head that is almost debilitating.
Will save DC 14 to reduced damage taken
A third Yoski emerges from the back room, and takes a moment to assess the situation.

Remi of Castrovel |
"Well that's no good," Remi mutters and glares at the two aggressors. She darts forward to take slight cover behind one of the tables and tries to take advantage of the surroundings to aim precisely at the ysoki.

Sebrir Feedbringer |
With his line of sight blocked by his ally, and knowing his aim is not good enough to be sure of not hitting said ally, Sebrir yells to Revvy.
"Look at that vesk's strength! Revvy there represents the best of the Starfinder society's brute force, viewers!"
Using the Inspiring Boost ability to give Revvy back 6 points of stamina.
GM Aerondor |
Blake takes a quick shot at the Shobhad, causing her a light wound, while Revvy, badly wounded, dives for cover. Remi scores another light wound on the Ysoki while Sebrir calls out encouraging words to Revvy.
The blue furred Ysoki turns and flees! The shobhad glares are Remi who also suffers a bad headache.

Remi looks her straight in the eye and does her best to carefully aim a shot with her laser pistol.
Attack Shobhad: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (17) + 3 = 20
Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 2
Blake-03 |
Damage is always a round down to a minimum of 1 when divided.
"Where did you come from?" Blake spouts as the ysoki he thought was a bartender shoots at him. He draws his tactical baton and fires his laser pistol back at the green-furred ysoki.

The shobhad takes a hefty hit, but stays on her feet, snarling her displeasure... whether at her cowardly ally or at the effects of the cannon is a little unclear.
The snarls finish when Remi catches her with a short from her laser pistol and she slumps to the floor.
Yes, new Ysoki did attack
Blake turns his weapon on the new Ysoki, who ducks just in time. He assesses the situation and quickly returns fire, but Blake's armor protects him from the shot.

GM Aerondor |
The last Yoski turns to flee.
Combat over, although Revvy can make a final attack if he chooses to
The bar goes silent, very silent. The AbardarCorp reps quickly pass you a map with an old mine located on it...
GM Aerondor |
Mr Philt and his bodyguards emerge from under the table. Philt brushes himself off.
"Well, you handled that well..." he acknowledges.
"I look forward to your delivery of Mr Talbot."
Nobody tries to stop you leaving, and the Dive is very quiet as you exit. The old thasteron mine is built into a red rock hillside.
A sloping ramp descends to the west, made of hard-packed red dirt that shows signs of heavy vehicle traffic. The ramp opens into a large square chamber with rough walls. A metal track runs along the ground from a passage in the west wall and then turns north, ascending a five-foot ramp and then running along the north wall until the track terminates. A pair of metal lockers stand in the southeast corner, and a heap of ore is piled to the southwest.
Map is updated.
Sebrir Feedbringer |
Engineering: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (9) + 5 = 14 "Looks like some old mine carts went through here, and that's where the cargo would be dumped into a larger vehicle. Viewers, we may see some truly wondrous relics of old-fashioned mining during this trip!"

"Well, those bodyguards weren't much use," Remi mutters as they enter the thasteron mine, still feeling disgruntled at the way things went down in Digger's Dive. However, since they seem to have arrived, she pauses to look around. Remi crouches down to pay particular attention to the tracks in the dirt. {These are recent. I think Talbot definitely came to this mine. Let's hope he's still here.}
Revvy |
Revvy walks over to check the pair of metal lockers and the heap of ore
Perception if needed: 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (5) + 0 = 5
Not sure if I'd know this in character (or would ask this in character) but seeing this is a thasteron mine ..what is thasteron? Any clue on what it does? Or if it's a poison/radiation hazard or something?
Blake-03 |
Obsolete starship interstellar drive fuel. Drift travel made it useless and so Akiton went from a rich planet to a poor planet overnight. Thanks Triune.
Physical Science: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20) + 6 = 26
"Appears to be that he is dragging out the abandoned thasteron ore," Blake says, pointing to the pile of rubble.
Remi of Castrovel |
"Hm. I wonder what his purpose is in coming here." She wanders over to Revvy's side and also inspects the ore and the lockers.

{It depends on how complicated of a lock it is, but I can take a look at it.}
Engineering: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Sorry, I forgot to take -2 for not having an engineering kit. That should be 22. I need to remember to buy one of those on this character.
GM Aerondor |
Remi manages to jimmy the lock. Within the old locker he finds a basic medkit and an engineering specialty tool kit.
Finding little else to do, the team presses onward. A glance to the right shows no signs of recent movement, but there are plenty of tracks in the left hand passage. following that you come to another intersection,
Sebrir Feedbringer |
"My expert colleagues have the skills needed to power through any obstacle, it would seem! This is why the Starfinder Society is so successful, viewers!" Sebrir is obviously talking up the Society for recruitment purposes. He will acquiesce to whichever direction the party decides on.
Just curious, are we on track to finish this in a couple of weeks at most? I'm wondering if I will be able to use this character at PAX Unplugged in mid-November.
