Sam returns with his catch, several scrawny rabbits, already gutted and cleaned. There isn't enough for all, but it's something.

She began excitedly clapping her hands at Sam's return. She knew the game he caught wouldnt quite be the same as caramal covered in chocolate shaped like little rabbits with a sugary sprinkling on top of the chocolate but thinking about it made her feel good.

"You are welcome Sam." This was a strange feeling for Luthor, doing something for someone else and being shown gratitude. It was a nice feeling actually.

Adalric contributes some fried whitefish. "If only we had some taters, I'd fix us up some chips to go with 'em."

Sam stares at 'Adalric... What are chips?

Adalric grins. "Only one of the best side dishes in the entire world! Get some taters, slice 'em into thin strips, and fry 'em in a little oil. The outside gets a little crispy, but the inside's nice and soft. They go great with some fried battered fish!"

Sam grimaces. Why do you ruin potatoes like that? Give 'em to me raw in a stew. You can keep your nasty chips.

Please tell me someone else is seeing this conversation for the wonderful rip off it is. :P

I'm just waiting for an opportunity to talk about boiling them, mashing them, and sticking them in a stew. ;-)

"Raw? That's no fun! Stickin' em' in a stew's all well and good, but boilin' 'em or mashin' 'em up with a little butter and garlic..." Adalric closes his eyes at the thought and smacks his lips at the thought.

Oh you guys..

"I prefer baked potatoes with a small side of butter personally. Anything else is barbaric."

As talk of potatoes begins to die down, the night gets cooler and the time grows late. When you all decide to call it a day, you all climb into your bed rolls and dream of lovely potato dishes and the wafting smells of your favorite potato dish.

Everyone roll your condition checks for tomorrow. Nothing bugs you during the night.

Luthor doesn't sleep particularly well but he is rested enough. He quietly starts breaking down his tent and rolling up his bedroll as others begin to wake up.

Charsi rolls up dreaming of her favorite potatoes... the candied kind of course!

The plain's grass is like a soft bed for Sam. He wakes feeling rested and energized!

Condition Check: 1d6 + 1d8 ⇒ (5) + (8) = 13

Adalric goes to bed in a grassy hollow. Belly full, he falls asleep instantly and wakes up the next morning ready to face a new day. "I'm going on an adventure!" It's quite exciting.

The road to Liveong is still long, but if all goes well, you all should make it there by nightfall.

Navigator make a Direction Check, Everyone else make a travel check. Looking for a 6.

Adalric cheerfully follows the trail, using his pitchfork as a walking stick. He munches on an apple as he goes. Two others are stuck to the tines of the pitchfork for later. Snacks are important, after all.

Traveling!: 1d8 + 1d6 ⇒ (4) + (6) = 10

Luthor is able to endure the harsh luxury-free road.

It was a nice day of travel, she was already thinking of the candies to discover and where to sell it when they got the wonderful treats.

It was a beautiful day to travel and easy compared to the swamps of his home, but Sam has a little difficulty navigating in the unfamiliar terrain.

You all start out on the second day of your journey after a breakfast of dried fish and berries. Take your daily ration off of your sheets.

Everything is going fine until you hear shouting ahead. The closer you come the louder the screams. You see two small cat-like creatures with pots on their heads arguing over a turned over cart. When you get closer they spot you and hiss.

Okay so a quick rundown on Combat, if you want to use it here, you dont have to ;). For initiative, (which I will roll for you, its a [DEX + INT] roll. After its decided who goes first, look to see how the enemies are set up. There is a front and a back area for both sides (heros and enemies) PC's or enemies standing in the front area can be hit by melee from the other front liners or can be hit by long ranged attacks by either the front or the back areas. Back area can only be hit by ranged attacks. There are also five(5) objects. Objects are things in the area that can be used to gain the upper hand in combat. They can be things like a pile of rocks, an overturned cart, a fountain, etc. Here is the MAP What do you do?

The two creatures, standing about a meter tall, adjust the pots on their heads and look at you warily.

"You there! Halt whatever it is you're doing! Step away from the cart and the people in it!" Luthor says drawing his Saber moving to the front line.

What on earth is even going on here? asks a bewildered Sam.

"Awww! They're so cute!" Adalric is clearly a cat person.

The cat like things jump. "No people here, Gobunya~! Only found this cart, Gobunya~!” Nevertheless, they take a step back.

"And those screams we heard?"

"Shaih want the best shiny, Gobunya~! It mine! I found it, Gobunya~!” The other speaks up. "No! I eldest! Mine!" The two start arguing again and it is clear it was them yelling.

"Oh, so you found it like this?"

What's a Gobunya? Sam whispers.

"Yes, yes! Found it that way we did, Gobunya~! And find shinies in it we did, Gobunya~!" It begins to jump up and down. The other slaps it in the back of the head, knocking off its pot. "Keep the shinies to us, Gobunya~! Our shinies, Gobunya~!"

"It's not either of yours. It belongs to whoever the cart belongs to."

Does it look like the cart has been there for a while or was it recently abandoned?

following suite sort of, Charsi would pull out her sword and follow Luthor closer... she tilted her head at the funny little cat creatures.

Do you gobunya's like candy?

She asked seriously her eyes narrowing.

The cat like creatures perk up "Candies? We likes! The crystal candies! Good, Gobunya~!" They bounce up and down excitedly.

The cart has definitely been there for a few days, but it isnt too torn up. It looks to be abandoned with the shiny bobbles they find being nuts and bolts, tops of nozzles, and other such trash.

Luthor sighs as he stows his Saber. These creatures were only nuisances and not the monsters terrorizing the populace. "Nevermind, we'll be on our way."

Seeing you are no longer interested in what they are doing, The cat creatures go back to arguing over the worthless shinies, fighting for the shiniest bit or bobble. As you continue, You come to a small river, no doubt an offshoot of the bigger river that Livesong borders. You are getting close. How are you guys gonna get over?

How far is it across?

How deep is the water? I think I need to go back and re-read how to do skill checks in this system...

it's about 8 feet across and 7 feet at its deepest.

Any big trees or logs nearby?

there are a few, but they are narrow and tall.

Adalric walks up and down the trail a ways, checking the riverbank for traces of a bridge.

Perception?: 2d6 ⇒ (4, 2) = 6

Adalric, looking as hard as he can, does not find any remains of a bridge or other type of structure. While he is looking, however, a large golden dragon appears out from the sky. It floats down effortlessly and smiles at all of you. You all know this dragon, though you have never seen it before. It is a Sun Dragon, and all of you know you are in no danger. It radiates warm sunshine and carefully places its tail across the river, beckoning you to cross.

It is a great honor to be visited by a dragon such as this, considering many people live their entire lives without seeing one.

Luthor blinks a few times as an actual Dragon appears to aid them. Clearly this was part of his grand destiny. He takes the invitation and crosses the river over the tail. "Many thanks."

Sam is speechless. Why would a Dragon help them? They're just travelers. Everybody traveled. Still, an opportunity to cross a river without getting wet should not be turned down, so he crosses in the most respectful manner he can manage.

Adalric doesn't quite know what to do. Dragons are from stories. They don't make their presence known to simple farmers like himself. He humbly removes his hat and attempts a courtly bow like from the fairy tales. It's a miserable failure, of course, but it's the thought that counts, right? After crossing over, he offers the Dragon a potato. After all, everyone likes taters.

So mister Dragon.. what kind of candy does your kind like? I'm Charsi Peddleton, of the Peddleton peddleton's I want to be the worlds best candy merchant ever, and well, getting dragons candy sounds like a key process of that.

She asked passing the time as they made their way across the river.

Do be careful with Charlie, hes a pretty sour alpaca but nice none the less... Did you hear that Charlie?! We're going to candy mountain.

The dragon smiles warmly at Charsi as she asks her questions, nodding but not speaking. It happily eats the potato given to it by Adalric and, when all of you are finished crossing, flies back into the sky and disapears.

Give me a few days, I just got back from a trip and Im tired.
