Do these all have the same caster level or Min for the scroll?

"A few goodies in here at least. I can decipher two of the scrolls at present, but need to wait until after our escape for the other two, unless someone else wants a crack at it. We should probably check the other office as well, never know what else we may find." Thinking on Ezekiel's words, "I could Glamer myself as the Warden and try to buy passage out the main gate, the rest of you nearby to flee as soon as the gates are open. We would have to be quick. Or lure a few of them to the keep where Grumblejack is and ambush them." Lyrysa will look around to see if there's an open window looking over the prison.

At Lyrysa's comments and suggestions Dantes smiles. Heh. We may be able to pull this off after all. He continues to keep watch at the door to the room while the others search the room and plot the next step.

Male Human Rogue (Swashbuckler) / Lvl 2

"Sounds like a good idea to me. I do not mind fighting our way through but this may be bette!"

Male Human Fighter (Weapon Master) 2

"Marius, could you check out this drawer? It's locked, so I assume there is something important in it."
Devon looks over to Slevin.
"Perhaps you might have some more healing? If not, I could use that potion."

Male Human Rogue (Swashbuckler) / Lvl 2

Marius nodded to Devon with a smile, stepping over to the drawer. Sliding the picks out of his pocket, Marius begins to work at the lock, frowning softly.

{HP 15/15 | AC13 T13 FF10 CMD13 | F/R/W 1/4/2 | Init +3 Per +1 S.M -1 }Female Wizard (Manipulator) 3 XP: 5229

Lyrysa, realizing her impromptu comment might be there best bet, begins to closely examine the Warden, looking for subtlties that would help her disguise. She'll also see if the Warden has any other clothing to aid her, since the less magic involved in the actual disguise, the better.

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

After failing to open the drawer once Marius takes his time and is very careful (Taking 20) and manages to open it. Inside is a large book covered in arcane sigils, 2 small bags, an unsealed envelope and a strange crossbow shaped device.

Ezekiel:
It's your gun, ammo and powder! Good thing the Warden held onto it.

Lyrysa can see the Warden's clothing is ruined but finds 5 near identical suits in the wardrobe, worth quite a pretty penny. Nobles outfits

Male Human Inquisitor/Slayer of Asmodeus 1

Slevin shrugs

"Only had the one, and healing's not really in my repetoir."

{HP 15/15 | AC13 T13 FF10 CMD13 | F/R/W 1/4/2 | Init +3 Per +1 S.M -1 }Female Wizard (Manipulator) 3 XP: 5229

Lyrysa will don one of the Warden's outfits, including his spell component pouch if he has one, and attempt to match his appearance as much as able with the tools at hand, saving the magic for when it's needed. "At least the Warden had an expensive taste in clothing. I don't suppose anyone caught his name by chance? It might help with the ruse."

If I can take 10 on the disguise roll, I will. Otherwise here's the roll for it. It'll be better when I use magic.

Disguise: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21

Male Human Rogue (Swashbuckler) / Lvl 2

Slipping the knife from its sheath once again, Marius moves back out in to the hall, looking around slowly, making sure he had not missed anything.

Male Human Fighter (Weapon Master) 2

Devon examines the contents of the drawer, paying particular attention to the envelope. The book he hands to Lyrysa.
"Perhaps this might be of use to you?"

{HP 15/15 | AC13 T13 FF10 CMD13 | F/R/W 1/4/2 | Init +3 Per +1 S.M -1 }Female Wizard (Manipulator) 3 XP: 5229

Lyrysa pauses a moment to examine the book, excited at first.

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

Inside the envelope is a small letter.

Your Grace King Markadian,

I write to you with trepidation. The weapon used to make the attempt at your life is still inoperative. The device seems to work like some sort of alchemical crossbow, though I can find no magic in its construction. The triggering mechanism seems only to move a small mechanism to strike a plate. The powder within the bag seems to be explosive but I cannot find a way to ignite it without damaging myself or my men. I will continue experimentation and hope to get results back to you soon.

-Warden Hawkram

It seems the letter has yet to be sent.

The book is obviously the Warden's spellbook, filled with useless meanings on the philosophical connotations of the spells within, and much more useful pages of actual magical information.

New Spells Known:

0-All Cantrips from the Core Rulebook and APG
1-Alarm, Charm Person, Expeditious Retreat, Feather Fall, Mage Armor, Magic Missile, Mount, Shield, Sleep
2-Bull's Strength, Flaming Sphere, Hideous Laughter, Invisibility

{HP 15/15 | AC13 T13 FF10 CMD13 | F/R/W 1/4/2 | Init +3 Per +1 S.M -1 }Female Wizard (Manipulator) 3 XP: 5229

Lyrysa examines the book briefly. It is not hers, but still valuable nonetheless. Knowing the time it will take to learn the secrets within, she stows it for now until a later time, when they have escaped.

Considering the time it takes to decipher spells (1 hour/level) not gonna take that now, but I'll list 'em in a separate list. Also do the guards wear helmets? Working on my ruse.

Male Human Fighter (Weapon Master) 2

Devon takes a moment to study the office and look for any hidden panels or such. I will also check his desk for important papers, etc. (passes or travel documents?)

Perception 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

The guards do not wear helmets, and other than the map found earlier and the contents of the drawers nothing in the desk is of use (trivial prison business).

Male Human Gunslinger 2

Ezekiel greedily takes the small bags and the odd looking crossbow. "Fantastic! I knew they wouldn't destroy it." He checks everything over with a practiced eye, taking a quick aim down the iron sights. He grimaces, but tempers it with a shrug.

"They certainly left it in a terrible state. Usable, but only just so. I can see why they thought it wasn't operable. Just needs a touch of adjustment..." He fiddles with the mechanisms for a few moments, before sighing, and calling it done. "This will have to do. Better than nothing I guess."

Male Human Fighter (Weapon Master) 2

map? what map? I looked back and don't see one mentioned. What is the map of? Treasure map :)?

Male Human Inquisitor/Slayer of Asmodeus 1

Slevin found a map inthe other room before $#!t went down.

Male Human Fighter (Weapon Master) 2

Ahh, missed that, thanks

{HP 15/15 | AC13 T13 FF10 CMD13 | F/R/W 1/4/2 | Init +3 Per +1 S.M -1 }Female Wizard (Manipulator) 3 XP: 5229

This map could change things, but going to present the best I've come up with so far.

After fashioning her disguise, Lyrysa gathers everyone together. "The way I see it, there are three major hurdles to our escape. One was the Warden there. The other two are the gate, and Blackerly. I wasn't sure before, but considering the Warden's words before our interruption, I'd say he's still here. I know a few of us would like some payback against him," Lyrysa rubs the still tender scar unconsciously, "and he might be a strong enough personality to rouse a chase after our escape. His death might prove pivotal to a sucessful escape. Plus you never know what he might know if we can take him alone.

"Here's the time for all of us to pool whatever resources we've found to get out of here. Here's what I have to offer. My spells remaining include Charm Person, Sleep, Color Spray, Disguise Self. I'll give a rough explanation of what they do for those who do not know in character. I have two scrolls of dubious usefulness, and two who's function I cannot yet ascertain. And a vial that was in the chest that was marked 'healing'. What we need now is what everyone else can offer. My disguise alone may not be sufficient. Slevin, that cloth you were pulling things off of, what else does it contain? Ezekial, that contraption you were fiddling with, can it be of use?"

Male Human Rogue (Swashbuckler) / Lvl 2

Marius spreads his hands wide then shrugs. "If I can get close to him in some way, I can use the shadows and my knife to stick him but that is all I can offer. I have no Magics to offer!"

{HP 15/15 | AC13 T13 FF10 CMD13 | F/R/W 1/4/2 | Init +3 Per +1 S.M -1 }Female Wizard (Manipulator) 3 XP: 5229

"Your knife, as well as your skill, has already proven itself useful, as I'm sure it still will before this night is done."

Male Human Rogue (Swashbuckler) / Lvl 2

Marius smiled and bowed to the woman. 'Perhaps I'll kill her fast instead of slowly, like all the rest of them!' He was a sucker for a compliment.

Marius was feeling not very CE so I felt he needed to be insane and constantly plotting the party death! Just as an fyi! ;)

Male Human Gunslinger 2

Ryuko, how many bullets and powder doses do I have?

Ezekiel grins rather evilly. "Useful? You could say that. Within about 20 feet, this can launch a small metal ball hard enough to punch straight through plate mail. My grandfather called these weapons firearms. This particular model is a pistol."

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

Only 20 shots right now. You'll have to make more at some other point.

Male Human Inquisitor/Slayer of Asmodeus 1

"I can blend with the shadows to the point of invisibility, as far as spellcasting I can strike absolute terror in a target or increase my own defenses, and the Dark Lady can grant me temporary boons in battle that can enhance, my skill, resilience, healing and other such abilities."

Slevin shrugs

"As far as the cloth, there's still rope, a lantern and a window.....yes...a window"

{HP 15/15 | AC13 T13 FF10 CMD13 | F/R/W 1/4/2 | Init +3 Per +1 S.M -1 }Female Wizard (Manipulator) 3 XP: 5229

"All right, here's my idea. We setup a fire to start burning in this here tower. Something slow to start. Plenty of flammable stuff in that so-called library down there. While the fire gets going, we'll sneak back to the prison where the ogre is.

"When the fire truly shines, I'll use the Warden disguise to call out all the guards to put out the flames. With the guards busy, we can try this window on the front gate. Should any guards remain, I can attempt to enspell them. We sneak out it and to freedom." Lyrysa stops for a moment. "If the ogre can fit through, all the better. If not, hopefully he'll stop pursuit for awhile. A pity if so, a creature like him can bring a pretty gold piece."

"When it comes time to escape, Slevin you are responsible for the window, as you have the cloth. Marius, stay with him and keep him safe. Dantes and Devon, you keep an eye out for guards from the tower. Ezekial watch the walls, I will assist you." "I doubt I can trust these people not to be willing to leave any of the others behind, but I see little other choice to appoint some trust."

"Should our ruse fail, or the window does not provide eggress, we retreat back inside the prison. With the ogre, we should pose a formidable opposition. This is why we must keep his freedom hidden as long as possible. At that point, it will quite probable be our deaths, for some if not all. It is best while I muster the guard to the tower to prepare if this possible eventuality."

"There's plenty of chance for error in this plan, I do not hide this. I am no general. But great rewards comes with great risk, and what greater reward will be our freedom. If anyone can add to it, or has a better, now is the time to speak up." Lyrysa examines the faces of her fellow captives, waiting upon their responses.

I can't offer much in the way of sneaking or surprise, but if we find him, I can try to take the brunt of the damage from him.

Male Human Rogue (Swashbuckler) / Lvl 2

"Seems good to me. Me and Slevin move the easiest so I think we should be fine!"

Male Human Fighter (Weapon Master) 2

Ryuko, could you put a loot list on the campaign info screen? Do we only have the one potion of CLW?

Devon listens intently to Lyrysa's plan.
"We should remain as mobile as possible and not let them force us to hole up. I am also quite adept at moving about unobtrusively, however that mages fire wounded me pretty severly. I can still fight, but even my defensive abilities can not garuantee that I will not be hit."

btw, Lyrysa, that is about the most perfect list of spells for our current situation that you could possibly have :)

I believe we had one on the Veil (Which Slevin gave to you) and one from the chest (which hasn't been used yet).

"Getting holed up would be a disaster, true. While they attempt to extinguish the fire, we could attempt thinning their numbers abit. But a fight could easily turn to a disaster. I counted 20 odd guards, of which we have killed, what 4? And they could have more I didn't see. And Blackerly. If you can think of a different option, please tell us."

Thank you! Best part is I didn't plan for an escape. I planned it as what spells would I have had prepared for a general day. So this is kinda what I would normally have prepped.

Male Human Inquisitor/Slayer of Asmodeus 1

"Drawing them to the fire sounds like the best option to me," Slevin says removing the lantern from the cloth.

"This being a wizard's lair, there should be a lot that would burn here. Grab anything useful and let's get to work."

Dantes will step away from the door and put his sword and shield away. I'll start piling up flammables. Stop me if you see me going for something you think we could use, or something we could take with and sell later. Does someone want to tke over my awtch at the door so we don't get surprised by anyone?

With that, Dantes will start amassing anything that will burn well in the middle of the room. If anyone objects to a particular item going into the mix, he'll set it aside by the door. He works tirelessly until someone tells him it is enough or everything in the room is accounted for.

"It seems we're in agreement then." Lyrysa goes to the lab to see about setting up a delayed combustible, watching over her shoulder every now and then.

Craft(Alchemy): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23

After everything has been prepared, Lyrysa signals everyone to head back to the Prison to the Ogre to begin the next part of the plan.

Loot from tower:

Just compiled a list of stuff no one has specifically claimed yet but we've found and are probably going to take with us, somehow. If I missed anything, please mention it.
3 Books from downstairs (75gp, 125gp, 250gp)
The wizard class ring (250gp)
Ioun Torch
Remaining alchemical supplies (not sure how to haul it though, so might be left behind)
Dagger from the Warden
I listed the spellbook and scrolls on my sheet (if anyone else can use 'em, just mention it). I assume Ezekiel is taking his gun. There are the other noble outfits if anyone wants to grab those, still 4 left and useable. Otherwise they'd make good fire materials.

Also don't know if we ever get a response on what the map was a map of.

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

The map is of the area surrounding the prison.

I'm a bit confused, are you starting the fire now or setting a delayed combustible to do it?

{HP 15/15 | AC13 T13 FF10 CMD13 | F/R/W 1/4/2 | Init +3 Per +1 S.M -1 }Female Wizard (Manipulator) 3 XP: 5229

Setting it so we have enough time to get back to the prison.

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

As you come back into the prison hallway Grumblejack looks cheered. "Was starting to think smart little men had died. Grumblejack was about to go kill stupid little men himself." A moment later he sniffs. "Something burning. You cooking?"

{HP 15/15 | AC13 T13 FF10 CMD13 | F/R/W 1/4/2 | Init +3 Per +1 S.M -1 }Female Wizard (Manipulator) 3 XP: 5229

Lyrysa smiles at Grumblejack's words. "Indeed. Insidious plots and a wizard's tower, all brewing us an attempt at escape. Quickly now, Grumbleljack, you best head deeper back inside and await our signal."

For when the Fire starts:

Just posting this now so it doesn't hold us up. If anyone else wishes to do something and it conflicts I'll adjust appropriately. With the Disguise Self my disguise is now at a 31.

As the first starts to get going, Lyrysa will await until the opportune moment to cast her Disguise Self from within the shadows of the prison, then proceed to run out into the yard and begin Screaming at the top of her now his lungs. "BLACKERLY!! Men!! FIRE at the tower! Everyone to attention, grab what you can, we must contain the fire!" As she sees guards muster, she'll tell them to grab all available men and combat the flames. If anyone mentions the prisoners, she'll command them that they're locked up tight and the fire is more important than the lives of a few criminals.

Male Human Fighter (Weapon Master) 2

The only healing we have is the CLW potion? I am at 3 hp and Marius is at 5 hp at the moment. Ezekiel has 3 pts of damage too, but Marius and I are frontline guys. If there is no other healing, I would say save the CLW potion for the first person that goes down. Sound good?

Dwarven Wizard (transmuter) 10 | HP 65 | Init +5 | Perc +0 (+2 w fam) | AC: 15 T: 15 FF: 14 CMD: 12 | F +6 R +5 W +7 | App +11 SpCr +17 |Conc +14|

That sounds good. But I can also be more of a frontliner when we aren't trying to use stealth. Once the alarm is tripped, I can certainly be the meat shield.

Male Human Rogue (Swashbuckler) / Lvl 2

I got caught on the hop there, I really shouldn't be taking damage. I want Marius to be a hit and run fighter so I agree, keep the potion.

Marius' plan of Action:
Step 1 - Sneak and Stab
Step 2 - Run like the dickens
Step 3 - Hide behind the Dwarf

Lets do this!

Male Human Inquisitor/Slayer of Asmodeus 1

"If we do this right we should have minimal resistance. The guards should be busy with the fire, we get the hell out of here as clean as we can while this hole burns. Let's go!"

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

Soon flames began to lick out of the windows of the tower, leaking smoke into the clear night. The guards begin to drag themselves up at the disguised Lyrysa's words, along with the servants. The two dozen or so guards began to rush up the tower though obviously several of them are drunk. Soon the courtyard was entirely empty.

Male Human Inquisitor/Slayer of Asmodeus 1

"Alright that's our moment, let's go!" Slevin says as he begins to move towards the planned exit point.

{HP 15/15 | AC13 T13 FF10 CMD13 | F/R/W 1/4/2 | Init +3 Per +1 S.M -1 }Female Wizard (Manipulator) 3 XP: 5229

Lyrysa will use the little time she has with her spell to make sure as many guards are at the tower, keeping a particular eye on the upper walls, as well as watching for Blackerly. When no guards are in sight, she will ready her bow in case of trouble.

Male Human Gunslinger 2

Ezekiel calmly stays out of sight with most of the others as they let the fire start. He loads his gun with precision, and keeps it in his makeshift belt for now. Don't want to use it unless I must. I have no idea when I might find more resources to craft powder again.

Male Human Rogue (Swashbuckler) / Lvl 2

"Let's do this!" Grinning manically, Marius slips out after Slevin, twirling the knife over his palm.

Male Human Super Cruel DM 10

The gatehouse looms before you, the doors stout and heavy. You recall that beyond is a small hall with another set of doors, then freedom! You are able to open the doors, then unlock the second set and slip outside. You hurry down the switchbacks of the path down the rock, but notice something unlucky. It seems the fire has spread far enough to be seen from the final gatehouse, across the bridge. 5 guards are rushing down the ten foot wide bridge, attempting to head to the prison to help with firefighting. They will see you in a moment if you attempt to cross the stark bridge.

{HP 15/15 | AC13 T13 FF10 CMD13 | F/R/W 1/4/2 | Init +3 Per +1 S.M -1 }Female Wizard (Manipulator) 3 XP: 5229

Just a quick question (and possible Retcon). Would the opening we made be big enough for Grumblejack to get through? If so, I'd try to call him to come with us while we escape. If not, well, poor Grumblejack.

Lyrysa sees the group of guards approaching. "We are too close!" With injured companions, she decides to take action. "I'll enchant as many as I am able with sleep, slaughter the rest." She whispers to her companions. Summoning her arcane powers, she sets an echantment upon the guards to send them into a slumber.

Cast sleep, DC 16. Affect as many guards as I can (max 4 HD, 10'radius).
