Oh wait, I see what's going on. Because they most the math in a string, rather than the result just showing as 26, it shows the whole math: (20) + 6 + 1 - 1 = 26

I could have sworn it looked like the numbers were being added twice, but its just the display. I'm too used to how I normally post multiple adjustments:

Power Attack (6 + 1 - 1): 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (20)

All makes sense now :)

Yeah, I put most of the modifiers in there so that I can be sure I know what I'm doing if I try to copy and paste the old rolls again to save time. That and it seems like a good idea to make all that visible so that the DM knows I'm not just randomly throwing numbers in there.

Incidentally, the +1 in that particular string comes from Feldspar's Dwarven Hatred racial ability: +1 versus goblinoids to attack.

And that is why I state what each bonus and penalty is. If I remember, I put them in order

Composite Longbow +1 str +3: enhanced (+1), deadly aim, fav enemy, precise shot
to hit 1d20 + 7 + 1 - 1 + 2 ⇒ (4) + 7 + 1 - 1 + 2 = 13 damage 1d8 + 2 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (5) + 2 + 2 + 2 = 11

Yeah, that was nasty in a few ways. My initial mistake came from the fact pathfinder made yeth hounds far more dangerous than previous versions. When I scaled the encounter, I lazily went through and did numbers based on the AP cr rather than the new pathfinder cr. If I'd let things run as I had started the fight, you'd be tackling a CR 6 encounter, when many of your resources were depleted. Not what was intended for that room.

Sorry for the mistake, I'll be more careful in future.

In other news, I love it when I get a good chance of a successful critical attack on a big boss like I presume Nualia to be. If my crit is confirmed, this'll be the second time I managed to nail a big bad in one of Wrath's campaigns! Sorry, Wrath.

Yeah, this could be the shortest finishing fight ever. I'm waiting to see if we still have everyone, butbwill update tonight regardless.

Treasure is 3,500 silver, 630 gp, 40 gemstones of various types, each around 10gp, a jade Amulet of natural armour +1, an ancient bronze helm of giant proportion worth 200gp to a collector.

Nualia had a +1 breastplate, +1 bastard sowrd, a masterwork longbow and masterwork dagger. Her holy symbol is gold and worth 100gp, but it is of an evil deity and cannot be sold in Sandpoint

She also carried a unique pendant which she had obviously recovered from this temple area. It was gold and bronze, and carried the strange many pointed star symbol of the evil temple upstairs. The pendant radiates magic and a slight evil aura. Jo'no identifies it as having both Transmutation and Necromantic magic, which is where he believes the evil aura comes from. This amulet provides +1 to all saves and once per day can be used to cast false life on the wearer (CL 5th). It can also be placed on a dead body to preserve it indefinitely, though it seems to draw on strange and evil power to do so.

To summarize:

-Any other equipment from before that we haven't sold or distributed?

Tania has an amulet already for her saves. She wouldn't mind the breastplate OR the bastard sword.

FYI, a Council of Thieves game I recently joined is recruiting a skill monkey.

Idrian already has some magic weapons, so I'll wait until everyone else has had a chance at the items.

If Durik would like, Idrian can craft him a composite longbow that makes full use of his +3 strength modifier.

Tania has a magic longsword. Come to think of it, she won't be able to use the bastard sword anyway...

I will pass on the items but wouldn't mind a stronger bow at all.

Mikka would most benefit from the Amulet of Natural Armor

Who would be better suited for the amulet of False Life and +1 saves? Jo'no?

We could sell the bastard sword and the masterwork items.

Jo'no would be interested in the amulet, but only if no one else would prefer to use it.

Sorry for my absence, everyone. I thought I'd posted here saying I was going to be gone for the weekend but either I hallucinated it or Paizo lost my post.

Anyway, first was a trip away and then a bad cold that laid me up for a few days but I'm getting back under way.

I'm definitely still in for Book 2 and whatever comes after. As for the share, any coin that Feldspar gets will go into his cost of living and tithing to Torag.
