The_Ninja_DM |
As the last one of these falls Father Zanthus and Daviren Hosk rush up.
"Is anyone hurt? Do you need healed?" asks the priest.
"There's more 'o these little buggers about." says Danviren. He looks at your opponents. "That one's still alive...I'll fix that!" He strikes to coupe de grace theh unconsious ones.
Father Zanthus says "Danviren, we need some of them,, so we can find out what's going on!"
He turns to your group. "Check out the rest of the town, see if there is anyojne else you can help. I think I saw some of them headed toward the North Gate. Please check them out."
Note: He will cast a quick Cure on anyone who needs it.
As you head toward the north Gate you realize that the battle is almost over...but as you get closer you hear sounds of combat, a cry for help, a panicked horse, gobin shouts, and a dog yelping.
By the gate you see a powerful-looking goblin riding a gobli dog, several flunky gobliuns slashing at a horse, and you see a frightend citizen cowering behind a rain barrel while a lone dog trys to fight the gobin on the goblin dog. As you approach, the dog falls and the leader goblin turns and calls to his flunkys, encouraging them to attack the terrified man.
The_Ninja_DM |
You face one goblin leader, his goblin dog, and three goblin warriors.

The_Ninja_DM |
As the last gobin falls, the stranger stands up from his hiding place, applauding your actions.
He heads directly to Alkaid, bowing and taking her hand to kiss it.
"What an honor to be rescued by the most beautiful -and talented- woman in Varisia. My name is Lord Aldern Foxglove and I am staying at the Rusty Dragon. please, all of you so tallented saviors, let me treat you to a meal there. it's the least i can do for such brave and talented heroes."
He turns to Alkaid. "Please, do honor me by accepting. I do so look forward to expanding our acquaintance."
Alkaid |
she blushes a bit,
"Oh my, ... Why thank you."
she quickly thinks"He's better mannered than the pigs in the taverns"
she bows, since she can't curtsey with her monk clothing
"It's a pleasure to meet you Lord Foxglove."
she straightens up
"And I shall take up up on your offer."
Cilyanka Caumlo |
Looking around at the mess, and down at her ruined festival clothing, Cilyanka blushes.
I would love to join you at the Rusty Tavern. We have the best food in town. Now, if you'll excuse me, I really need to clean up and grab a change of clothes.
Sparrow Seacutter |
"I could definitely use a drink after that. One of the little buggers managed to nick me." Seeing Cilyanka run off, "Well looks like we'll meet there? I wanna take a quick look around town, see if any more of 'em are hiding. Sound good?"
If not opposed, Sparrow will do a quick circuit of the town looking for any stragglers.
Perception: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
The_Ninja_DM |
The dinner proceeds quite well, though it quickly becomes apparent that Lord Foxglove, while plesant and gratefull to all of you, is singling out Alkaid for his attentions quite markedly.
Ameiko gives Cilyanka a hug, checking to be sure she's all right, then anounces to the rest of you "Thanks for all you did for Sandpoint today and in the past. As a reward, and it's the least I can do, all of you who wish to can spend a week here free!"
She turns to Lord Foxglove. "I'm so sorry this had to happen while you were visiting our town. I hope you will not hold it against Sandpoint."
Lord Foxglove looks up and responds "Oh, don't worry. I'm fine. And I've met all these talented, intersting, and..." here he looks directly at Alkaid "lovely people. Hey, I have an idea! I was planning on a boar hunt in the Tickwoods before I left. Would you heroes like to accompany me? I'll provide horses for everyone. How about the day after tomorrow? I'll meet all of you at the Goblin Squash Stables first thing in the morning to provide your horses."
He turns to Ameiko. "Be prepared to roast our kill!
The_Ninja_DM |
Lord Foxglove looks disapointed that some of you aren't as enthused about his treat as he'd hoped. Still, he says "Lack of skill isn't a big problem, but if you don't feel up to it, I understand. I'd like to gift you all with horses regardless, though. Please meet me anyway, so I can present you with my reward."
Sparrow Seacutter |
"Hey now, I happen to be on the boy's side here. A hunt would be a good way to relax after today's excitement. And I don't know who told you about boars, Brin, but they can gore a man as well as any lance if you're not careful with 'em."
Alkaid |
I've been busy, and currently have a cold
What drinks are with the meal?
as this may effect her judgement
Elven Mead,
Ager's 11,
Black Jack,
Dwarven Beer,
Bond's Booze,
The MacGuffin, or
Love Wine.
"You, My lord Foxglove are a real gentleman."
she tries to be gentle around the subject of the ring

"Did you just have a divorce?"
Sense Motive on reply: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (7) + 8 = 15
The_Ninja_DM |
Lord Foxglove looks down at his hand, which is shaking. "I didn't. She sent me some Varisian mumbo-jumbo...I guess it's legal...I just wish I knew why..."
He looks back up at Alkaid. "I guess that's also why I am -drawn- to you. So different. Perhaps you can help me understand and, since I must, move on."
The next day, as the group is having breakfast at the door to the Rusty Dragon flys open and a furious human man bursts in, dragging an attractive, sobbing young woman with him.
"Ameiko! Ameiko get out here! Where's that b@$%^&# brother of yours? Bring him out of hiding NOW!"
Ameiko comes out of the kitchen, looking confused and annoyed. "Which one, Ven?"
"That Ryu...talk about bad blood. Ask him what he's going to do about this" as he points to the sobbing red-head.
"I know why he fled...but he's not getting away with it!"

Brindolfin Cloudcap |
"I do not know if Ryu's evil cult bothers me more or impregnating innocent human women. I am beginning to regret not leaving Ryu to be the boy toy for that witch."
From the big giant's speech and mannerisms, it is obvious he is serious.
NPC_Ameiko |
Ameiko looks annoyed...and suspicious. "So, you are claiming what? That Ryu has done something to Shayliss? Convenient, that she's accusing Ryu, who is not here to defend himself. Perhaps, you should speak to my father. Or..." here she pauses "Did he throw you out? Regardless, Ryu is not here. He did not return with these good people, but stayed to assist a town in desperate need. If you insist...no, regardless...I will send for him to respond to whatever accusation you are making. And if true, I will make sure he stands resposible. Now, please stop making this rucus in my tavern. This public washing of dirty linen certainly isn't of benefit to Shayliss."
The man, whom those of you who are local recognise as shopkeeper Ven Vinder, seems to be choking on his own rage.
Sparrow Seacutter |
"Doesn't look like she regrets as much as she's playing at." Sparrow speaks loud enough for the others to overhear, though not really concerned if Ven overhears.
Wasn't sure what the Local DC is.
