Haedrik is not overtly concerned about the treasure at this point, though if any gold comes up he would like his cut. He mentions selling some of this stuff might not be a bad idea.
You haven't found any coin yet, but Taemin is dragging Lamm's lockbox/footlocker around, and you don't know what's in it. Actually, that reminds me I should probably figure out what it weighs so I can tell you.
Are we having an interlude and then switching scenes, or are we going to play our way to wherever we end up? Taras is pretty antsy about the diplomat's lost child, and about seeing to the rest of the kids he's got on the sidewalk.
I don't need to have it gone over in the thread if we want to move on, but it'd be nice to know how that turns out :D
Well, once everyone gets outside, I was going to let you guys decide exactly what to do with the other kids, and break the news to Taras that Rivas was nowhere to be found. Once a decision is made, I'll do a brief interlude and scene cut. Where it cuts to depends on what you all decide.
Taras fishes out four gold coins - inventory edited. As I understand it, gold is still a pretty big deal to "commoners" in Pathfinder, yeah?
Pathfinder doesn't change any assumptions about the value of money, as far as I'm aware. So gold is still a big deal. However, it is not as big a deal in Korvosa as it would be in a Hommlet-style rural area, due to the general tendency of cities to increase the cost of living.
For instance, 1 sp/day is listed as a wage for an unskilled laborer. This is sufficient for a peasant, because they can garden most of their own food and already have shelter. That would not be a living wage in Korvosa. So generally, I consider that 1 sp/day to be the necessary profit from an unskilled job after meeting the bare minimum of survival.
Further, my rule of thumb is that a gold piece is equivalent to about $40 or $50 in modern currency.

Okay. So, by that guess, then, considering that they could've just put the kids in the orphanage's charge and been on their merry way, Taras' dropping a $200 donation on the place isn't just a smack in the face, like giving a homeless guy four cents when he asks for change.
Good. That's the point that I wanted Taras to make, that's all.
FYI, I'm moving across the country as of tomorrow, so my posts will be spotty for the next few days. Ross, feel free to play Karista with impunity. See y'all on the other side.

Good luck with the move. Karista tends to be the strong silent type around crowds anyway, so I shouldn't have to step on your toes that much.
Same here - also moving cross-country. I'm pretty obsessive about my computer access, though, and am staying in the interim with a friend who has internets.
However, from here on, consider Taras to be on the 24 hour rule - if you don't hear from me once a day, go ahead and pop something in for Taras. He's a vocal party member and it'd be strange for him to let much go without saying anything.
Ross:
Spoiler:
I'm attempting to just make him dignified and a little bit disconnected from the events. If you happen to remember Paris P. Ogilvy from the movie Pitch Black, that would be a good template. He's concerned in a Chaotic Good way with the happiness of others, but he's also used to a life of luxury amongst his peers and is dreadfully out of sorts right now. He wants to find Rivas (or some certainty of Rivas' fate) and get back to the elven Enclave. If something Bigger is afoot, though, he wants to bring word of it, at least, so he won't just rush off at the first opportunity.
Once the Beta is released, I will be putting a d20srd.org-esque rules repository at pfsrd.org. Per Paizo's wishes, I'll be keeping it at password access only.
I thought this might be more than useful to my PbPers, so if any of you would like to send an email to webmaster(AT)pfsrd(DOT)org, I can allow you access to the site.
Poor Ross. Hang tight. Ex Lege is more or less couch surfing at this point, which is, I assume, why he hasn't posted. I will poke him the next time I talk to him.
Things have been weird the last few days. Housing situation is not nearly what I expected it to be. Things will smooth out within a month or so, no well-wishes needed.
Regardless, I'll be checking the site far more often now. Sorry if I held anything up.
Ross, I'll be on holiday with no internet access starting tomorrow until Aug. 21. I'll also be going to GenCon UK from the 28th to the 31st, but I should be able to check in between the two. Please NPC Verronax as needed. Thanks!

Will do. I'm going to be on travel from the 10th to the 16th myself. I will have an internet connection, but I will also be busy.
So... I figure in game unless Taemin is told otherwise he'll need to handle his duties for the day.
Does everyone want to keep up the investigation (we really should find out what happened with Zellara if possible) in the evening, or will Taemin be convinced that he is really quite ill and needs to get excused from his post?
Hello all, I'm back. It'll take me a day or two to get caught up, but I'll get back into the swing of things ASAP. Ross, let me know if there's anything else I need to know that happened while I was away. Also, I'll be gone again next week from 28-31 Aug at Gen Con UK, just to let you know.
Will update to Beta once I've had time to look through it, probably after I get the hardcopy at GenCon UK.
I'm going to need someone to do my legwork for me, I think, unless all the beta stuff is available for free online. I've since ceased living with JackDaedalus and don't have access to the materials.

It is free online! :)
Just go here, add the free pdf to your shopping cart, check out, and it will be waiting in your "My Downloads".
Mrr. I tacked a post up a week or so ago about not being able post very often but it got eaten. I keep thinking that my schedule will free up and it keeps failing to. If you want to keep toting along an ominously silent barbarian in the background, I might actually catch up at some point, but if you wanted her to just fade into the sunset and recruit a new player, that's totally cool too. Sorry I've not kept up.
1. Did everyone get 212.66 gp from Lamm's treasure?
That's what I calculated and added to my sheet.
Also - we never split up these:
The wooden wand of acid splash (37).(of course) [Taras?]
The obsidian wand of magic missile (1st - 23). [Taras?]
The crystal vial of silversheen. [Verronax?]
The glass tube of oil of keen edge. [Karista?]
