Toran Silvercloak |
Toran, having regained a considerable amount of strength, runs back out of the forest towards the trolls that surround their hag foes. As he does so, he blasts a searing spear of light at the nearest hag.
Ranged Touch Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Damage: 3d8 ⇒ (6, 1, 2) = 9
He'll cast Spear of Purity, and I believe that they get a DC 17 will save for half.
Riva Sarjenka |
If it's an extraordinary or supernatural ability, it won't. If it's spell-like ability however, it will come down to a concentration check.
Unlike Elhedril, Riva doesn't wait, blasting at the blood hag with her own potent magic missile spell from the cover of the trees.
Magic Missile: 4d4 + 4 ⇒ (1, 2, 4, 2) + 4 = 13
She then slides back another 35 feet into the forest (now 160 feet away from the blood hag), stopping in a high tree, attempting to stay hidden while keeping a clear line of sight to her enemies.
Stealth Checl: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (20) + 13 = 33; If she tries to spot Riva, don't forget the range penalty to the hag's Perception check.
Riva Sarjenka |
Riva's trolls maintain their positions, obeying their last orders, attempting to leap up at and tear at the blood witch.
Three's bite attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 281d8 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7

Three's claw attack #2: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 221d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Four's bite attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (19) + 10 = 291d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Four's claw attack #1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 221d6 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Four's claw attack #2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (20) + 10 = 301d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Five's bite attack: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 141d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Five's claw attack #1: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (12) + 10 = 221d6 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
Five's claw attack #2: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (18) + 10 = 281d6 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
EDIT: Looks like Three's bite and Four's claw both threaten a critical.
Three's bite confirmation: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 191d8 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 11
Four's claw confirmation: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (13) + 10 = 231d6 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9
Powergaming DM |
The hag takes 14 damage, The attack don't seem to do as much damage as you would expect.
The trolls all do attacks of opportunity on the tree for some reason.
bite3: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18
damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (3) + 5 = 8
bite4: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
damage: 1d8 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9

Bite5 hits
concentration: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (2) + 11 = 13
"Idiot minions turning against your creator"
Then the blood hag explodes into more flame. Spreading out in 30 feet in every direction.
Everyone within 30 feet takes fire damage: 8d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 3, 3, 2, 2, 1, 4) = 25 (Reflex DC 18 for half)
The trolls all fall down burnt.
Toran Silvercloak |
Toran blasts the tree with a bolt of light, moving closer as he does so.

Magic missile damage: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2, 1) + 3 = 8
Stealth check: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (14) + 18 = 32
Doesn't Elhedril go before the hags?
Powergaming DM |
@Riva Yes you are right
@Mallichatti it's a good thing I think the idea of fumbles for attack rolls is stupid.
@Toran Sorry missed the will save and the blindness effect although I don't think it would have stopped her from detonating
blood hag will save: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (7) + 11 = 18
tree will save: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (14) + 7 = 21
The tree does something and the small fires in the forrest from the detonation explode into smoke.
Riva spellcraft: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (14) + 17 = 31
Riva recognizes it as pyrotechnics
The blood hag says "sleep I will torment you later"
Mallichatti make a DC 17 will save or go to sleep. Riva does not see this spell because of the smoke.

"Lady, all you've accomplished is giving me more reasons to rip you limb from f++!ing limb."
Does she cause an AoO with her casting? If so...
1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31 Attack
2d8 + 11 + 6 ⇒ (5, 5) + 11 + 6 = 27 Damage
If she does not provoke an AoO this will be my attack on my turn.
Saving throw if she survives.
1d20 + 5 + 4 + 2 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 5 + 4 + 2 + 2 = 26 Will + Superstition + Trait + Rage
Riva Sarjenka |
Riva focuses on extending some of her powers before half running half teleporting back towards the battle, more confident now after having heard the blood hag's death rattle.
On her turn, Riva drops a 3rd-level spell slot with her consume spells class feature to gain back 3 points of her arcane reservoir. She then uses one of those points to dimensional slide 60 feet towards the clearing.
Finally, she moves an additional 25 feet into heavy brush and crouches down to conceal herself from view. (She is now 75 feet West from the blood hag's body.)
Stealth check: 1d20 + 18 ⇒ (13) + 18 = 31
"So she wants to hide in a tree does she? Let's see how well it protects her from trees' bane!"
Riva gets ready to switch out heroism for lightning bolt.
Powergaming DM |
Elhedril shoots another magic missile at the tree.
damage: 3d4 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2, 1) + 3 = 8
I think it's the hag's turn now.
The tree turns into a green hag that immediately claws at Mallichatti.

Edit: Wow I suck.
4 rounds left on my Spiritual Weapon.
Riva Sarjenka |
Riva quietly concentrates on manipulating the magical energies within her, using her years of training in the magical arts to exchange a source of strength and protection for one of raw destruction.
Riva prepares lightning bolt in lieu of heroism with her quick study class feature. /end turn
Anyone have a link to the current map?
The links for a given OneDrive file never changes if I can help it. I simply overwrite the old file versions each time.
Here you go. [BATTLE MAP]
If you download it, or navigate to the root file online, you can see it at 100% size, which is pretty huge.
EDIT: Odd. It's still showing me an older version of the map. New one should have the smoke cloud and a bunch of corpses. I'll see if I can get it up once I get home later tonight.
Mallichatti Cervagio |
Still showing the old map so.
If I can I 5ft shift and axe her. If not than let me know so I can reroll damage.
1d20 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 8 + 4 = 30 Fortitude save.

1d8 + 6 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 6 + 4 = 15 Damage
Powergaming DM |
You fail to dispel the smoke.
Really should roll for miss chance, but I think it is safe to say you tear the hag limb from limb.
With the hags dead you look over what they have.

Riva Sarjenka |
Her fingertips still sparking from the power of an electrical build up, Riva quickly dismisses the magic with an approving nod toward her allies.
Alas, I will have to wait for another time before trying out my new spells.
Once the area is cleared of obvious threats, Riva brings in her entourage to better keep watch over the area and to help keep the troll skeletons from reconstructing themselves.
Riva takes 10 on her knowledge (history) check, getting 24, and informs the party of the ax's past.
She then casts identify and proceeds to identify the many magical items the hags had been hoarding in their grove.
Taking a 10 on her Spellcraft checks gets her a total of 39, enough to automatically succeed at everything listed in the above post--unless something happens to possess a high caster level AND be cursed.
Sensing the presence within the axe, Riva takes great care not to make skin contact with it, as a precaution.
"I am most glad to see that ended. Claim what you will, you've more than earned it, but the remainder goes to me. I suspect I may be able to recycle some of it into something far more useful to us. Except for the ax, I suspect most of it is safe. The ax will require further study."
