I'm starting to read through the Gameplay thread now. Looking over the characters -- Sizma, that leopard familiar looks to be more like an animal companion than a familiar. Familiars are usually tiny, sometimes (rarely) small, and generally not all that great doing direct attacks in combat. They also should have half your HP. Is there some ability I'm missing that allows you to take a leopard as a familiar? Or did the previous GM allow you to have a particular familiar?
Are there other house rules the previous GM allowed for the rest of you?

OK... would you mind if I retconned it a bit? It's rather... large and powerful for a familiar.
There are a couple of possibilities. You could go with the "Mauler" familiar archetype. It would still not be as strong and combat-capable as a leopard, and familiars of that archetype aren't able to speak (so that once the "speak with master" ability would normally come online, the Mauler won't get it).
Another option would be to dial him back to a cat who looks like a leopard, only a cat-sized leopard. The cat can even think he's a leopard. But, it would not be very powerful in combat.
Assuming we make it to level 7, the "Improved Familiar" archetype opens up lots of other possibilities. Depending on your alignment, you can discover that your cat was either a Silvanshee Agathion, or a Cat Sith, all along. We could discuss something custom as well.
Any familiar works with the Tatooed Sorcerer -- what that adds is the ability for a standard familiar to be stored on your body as a tatoo.
A full-on leopard would normally only be available from something like a Druid's animal companion, which is a far more powerful class feature than a familiar is.

OK -- as NG, she could get either a Silvanshee Agathion (who are NG themselves), or a Cat Sith (who have no special restriction on alignment, so the "one step along each axis" from Improved Familiar) as a familiar at 7th level.
Cat can be found under "Familiar" in the Bestiary, or here on the PRD. (Scroll down a bit, all the familiars from the CRB are in this entry.)
Familiars like this are not good in combat, but they make excellent scouts. Cats are quite stealthy, and if you put points in stealth, the cat will get them as well (assuming no familiar archetypes). A standard cat has 1 skill rank in Climb (and gets to use its Dex mod).
hey. i had applied awhile ago, but the GM disappeared and i started checking this thread to see if there had been any word. anyway, i'm not interested in trying to join your game, but i did want to pop in and throw out another suggestion for Sizma. i'm not sure how attached you are to your bloodline and tattooed sorc, but if you had your heart set on a leapord one of the wild blooded archetypes gives you an animal companion. it might also still be compatible with tattooed sorc (though technically an AC isn't a familiar); i haven't checked. just saw you were trying to sort that out and wanted to give you options.

OK, if you all want me to, I will take over and run this game. I'm going to be on an airplane tomorrow, but I expect to have Internet access during my trip next week, so I should be able to get things going in the next couple of days.
Sizma : I'd recommend you stick with your character as is and make your familiar a cat with delusions of being a leopard. Just be aware that you probably don't want to send the cat in to combat to attack. Unpeel him and send him off to scout when you want to, or for other miscellaneous purposes (including just color, of course).

OK, I will do it unless The Wisp objects.
One request: could all of you link me to a place with your character description and backgrounds? I could probably find it by trolling the recruitment thread, but I'm hoping for a shortcut.... Alternatively, add them into your profile if you haven't already, and let me take a look at that.
Do please keep a complete characer sheet in your profile, and keep the statblock up to date (so that if there are buffs or debuffs in effect, your AC and such are correct in there). I'll use that as reference.
I'll get things rolling tonight or tomorrow. Probably I'll capsule summary close up the current scene and collect you all back in Sandpoint for a new scene.

Hey rknop
I got to thinking, knowing that each GM has their own style for running adventures so I thought to ask you: How much are you going to use our background in the story to make events and points of interrest?
M Human Astrophysicist 10 / Linux Nerd 4 / Violinist 2 / Dramaturge 1
I am hoping to bring in some of your backgrounds. I have read them, but haven't yet read them carefully enough to digest them and bring stuff in yet. But I do want to bring some of that in over time.

So you guys know- I'm at an astronomy education conference for the next three days, so I may be slow to respond before Thursday. I will try to keep up though.

Get your Carl Sagan on, and I really hope to see what you've learned happen in the adventure eventually!

Sorry, guys, I've been a flake for the last three days. Busy Pathfinder week; I'm running the last chapter of Eyes of the Ten for a PFS group tonight online (VTT). BUT, I will get a post up soon.

Hey guys, just so you know -- last-minute crunch getting ready for the beginning of another school year (I'm a prof) is pretty huge right now. And, before I start the next thing in this game, there's a little prep work for the game I need to do. So, hopefully I'll get to it this weekend, but if not, I'll get to it by the middle of next week. I wanted you all to know that I haven't vanished, it's just crunch time for me.

Still here; first week of school was a doozy! I wanted to let you know that I haven't vanished. I'm traveling over the course of the next week, off at a research conference. I *hope* I'll have time to get the game rolling again while I'm out there (I will have Internet access), but if not, I'll be back home next Saturday.
