Rise of the Runelords - GM Pablo (Inactive)

Game Master Stetrix

Something is afoot in Varisia. There have been a series of odd murders in a small town on the west coast called Sand Point and more recently the capital Magnimar, where even the lord-mayor was a target. A cult of serial murderers called the Skinsaw Men was uncovered and stopped. We have also received reports of more activity along the border.

I would like you to go see the lord-mayor of Magnimar. Assure him the Pathfinder society will do what we can to help him. Investigate these goings on and see if there is a common thread to all this unrest. We have a lot of interests in Varisia and would like to maintain the good graces of the government. I doubt the lord mayor will have you sitting around for long. It is a big place and inevitably something will need attention.

So how does that sound? A mission without a precise goal and with no guarantee of coin. Ha! Are you up for it?

i just realized that the wounding trident is inferior to the greataxe unless we want to get lumpy a shield, which probably isn't worth it. hmm.

East as it appears to be on the map. We should clear this area so there is nothing behind us.

I will sneak (not sip) as far as I can until told otherwise into the bluish gray rectangular area.

Stealth: 1d20 + 16 ⇒ (16) + 16 = 32

Fernleaf peers West before moving East. To the West stairs going down to the left. Ahead it looks like a chamber and possibly more stairs.

To the Est he pads silently down a few stairs and looks over a huge cave full of Ogres. The noise makes it obvious why no one investigated the combat at the crossroads.

Fire and thick black smoke reign here, spewing from black pits in the bedrock where forge fires glow. Anvils loom throughout this enormous
cavern. The ring of steel on steel thunders here as giant hammers crash down again and again on glowing half-forged blades and axe-heads.

How long on Sekkims spell and buffs?

What does Fernleaf see?

You know, if we get the ogre and giant smell out of the place this might make a nifty northern lair!

We might be done before his wolf shows up. He might be here in the knick of time, though!

Is he done casting?

7 more minutes of casting left...

There are 10 Ogres here and a what seems to be an overseerer.

A work crew of 10 ogres slave away here, toiling endlessly at these forges to craft giant blades and other weapons from the obstinate iron they've carved from the mountain's innards. A single Kreeg taskmaster
snarls, belches, guffaws, and roars incessantly as the rank-and-file ogres toil away at the forges.

Ouch, 10 ogres! What shall we do gang? Do we have any area of affect spells? Should we continue with the Jaagrath ruse and see if we can catch them off guard?

Dark Archive

Male Halfling Rogue L2

I can invisibly walk through and tell the poor ogres that help is on the way and to follow my lead. As soon as they see blood, attack the overseer and we will get you out of here.

Then, once each ogre has been warned, I will back stab him invisibly, followed by a blast from the party. Take out Mr Bossman and ally with the underlings.

Unless someone objects?

to the point on the map. No further until the party says Yaeh or Neigh

I think just be ready to backstab the boss. Let's try the ruse again, hopefully Bucky will have a better bluff roll this time. Don't let the boss sound the alarm Fernleaf.

Scarab Sages

Male Human Magus L8/Brawler L1/Bloodrager L1

Before we go any further I think we should dispose of the five bodies we have laying around. Do we just toss them into the abyss? Besides, if they stop their noise that will be as good as an alarm!

yes, chuck away!

Silver Crusade

I have some AoE spells. Also, this spell I'm casting might rattle the ogre slaves a bit if i finish it.

I think I will turn into an earth elemental. The plan is to go up the cavern walls and collapse ceiling onto them. This should flush them up the tunnels to all of you. You can take them out a few at a time as they arrive

Dark Archive

Male Halfling Rogue L2

I retract my idea.

If Cela turns into an Earth Elemental, she can slide through the rock and dropped chunks of boulder and ceiling down upon them all with little risk to us. We wait at the stairs for any that run towards us and lay waste. They are likely to drop any weapons and etc when the ceiling caves in.

That sounds awesome! On top of the boss!

AFK until I get home, going to the gym before I go home.

I'm heading downtown. Sounds like you have a good plan. As a medium elemental I'll allow a 20' section to be collapsed each round the impacted area will be treated as difficult terrain. I think there is a spell for equivalent damage

Silver Crusade

Can earth elementals cast spells?

Dark Archive

She can I think through the feats she has. She can definitely channel because supernatural.. I'll check

Silver Crusade

The rules aren't clear, as far as I know. The elemental has hands and can speak a language, so it would make sense that it can handle verbal and somatic components. There are magic items to help you get at your material components while shifted, I think.

You need this Feat and can cast while shapeshifted as a Druid. Cela doesn't have either of these yet...next time she gets a Feat.

Natural Spell
You can cast spells even while in a form that cannot normally cast spells.
Prerequisites: Wis 13, wild shape class feature.
Benefit: You can complete the verbal and somatic components of spells while using wild shape. You substitute various noises and gestures for the normal verbal and somatic components of a spell.
You can also use any material components or focuses you possess, even if such items are melded within your current form. This feat does not permit the use of magic items while you are in a form that could not ordinarily use them, and you do not gain the ability to speak while using wild shape.

This helps too, but the first just need to posses.

Eschew Materials
You can cast many spells without needing to utilize minor material components.
Benefit: You can cast any spell with a material component costing 1 gp or less without needing that component. The casting of the spell still provokes attacks of opportunity as normal. If the spell requires a material component that costs more than 1 gp, you must have the material component on hand to cast the spell, as normal.

The ruling on collapsing the ceiling is 20' AOE. She can do this 1 time per round as long as she can move to the area. Damage will be like a fireball (same size AOE) of her Druid level, so 7d6 with reflex save for 50%. The impacted Area will be treated as difficult terrain after the collapse.

So that means that can't happen. Back to plan B. Send Fahari into the room full gallop with Jaagrath in pursuit with Anaba behind helping to conceal her ID. Chaos ensues, Fernleaf backstabs boss, the rest of us enter right behind and mop this operation up. Sound good?

She can turn into a small elemental and burrow through the ceiling causing 20' sections to fall every round. She just can't cast other spells while she does that.

The difficult terrain caused by the falling rock will also slow their exit from the large chamber.

The first round would be a surprise round, so she may get two sections to fall (potential of 14d6) before they get a chance to move.

Or you can go in the cave in disguise.

What ya want to do?

I will go up and collapse what I can. I will stay on that until they are all dead or have fled and become dead basically working my way in a continuing spiral to center of ceiling and then around again

Dark Archive

If you are all ok with position on map will start with that then.

Anaba I assume will redo lead blades. Any other buffs?
