Quietly "Well don't tell my wife about that one.". He turns away from his kids and shows you the tattoo. " There was a place that burnt down a few weeks back on the lake. They were giving discounts to anyone who'd get one of these. If my wife knows how many times I went there she'd have my hide. I bet half the town has one."

Oh I love a good discount! As you can tell from the barrels. You say it burned down? What happened? Where did everybody go? I would definitely want to get me one of those. Probably pay a little finders fee to get with the artist who did yours. Where is this place? Any idea how to find the folks who can do such cool ink?

"That would be the Paradise’s owner...err ahh Lady Lucrecia. She also threw in some extra gambling chits if you got the "Paradise Mark". Hard to say no to that. she died in the fire though when the barge sank several weeks ago. If ya want to see it, it's over there." He points to a spot off the docks a few blocks away where the pier meets the lake.

Cela transforms into a shark and takes a swim. She finds the barge in 60' of water heavily fire damaged. There are pleanty of fish who made a home there as well as a couple other sharks. If there were any crispy bodies the local wildlife ate them long ago. She finds nothing else of interest after 30 min of poking around the wreckage and returns.

You find six good horses saddles and barding. The stable master gives you easy directions to Fort Rannick. "The simplest route is to follow an old road leading up along the banks of the Skull River. The road crosses an old wooden bridge to the western shore about three miles north of Turtleback Ferry, and from there heads all the way up to on old impressive Thassilonian ruin known as Skull’s Crossing, an immense stone dam that holds back the waters of the Storval Deep. A side road branches off about three miles before the dam, and a wooden sign points up this trail to Fort Rannick.
After checking your provisions you leave Turtleback Ferry and make your way north to Fort Rannick. After you cross over the old wooden bridge you hear a muffled murmur of pain in the woods nearby, as if a large animal
were wounded.
GM Pablo |
You make your way off the trail and into the woods.
You soon hear barking dogs approaching from deeper in the woods, accompanied by a low voice singing an off-key song "He lurked around 'cause he knew where I lived
I'm in the woods and he means to eat me
He means to eat me, he's a hungry bear
He touched my arm and he thought he'd got me
But I, I am eating the bear
I am eating the bear
I am eating the bear
I am eating the bear"
As you get closer. The barking of the dogs soon grows excited, and you hear the sound of combat between dogs, bear, and something else.

You seem reluctant to discuss it. What's wrong with some fun and games?

Cela would be interested in protecting the black bear. She will do her druidic best to make that happen.
C is AFK today working two jobs. Please let's run her together Pablo
When it is my turn, I will shoot arrows at the Ogrekin from a hidden sneaky perspective. First I will hide.
Stealth: 1d20 + 13 ⇒ (5) + 13 = 18
Buchart |
Sekkimm still has action (checking KN is a free action).
Buchart you have actions posted for the next five rounds...getting a bit ahead.
Alright. Scratch the Enlarge and the BS on both. Which way is downwind? Please place me there since I cast a spell and moved, then we'll be square, eh? Also, now +5 on Initiative and +6 on Perception! Also need to get out the rust from all the inactivity of late!
Me thinks that bear will be in a sorry lot if we tarry!
Rolande Deerborne |
I think you should enlarge and Bull Strength on Anaba Buchart. Send her left into the wind and flank the Ogerkin. Then you can go right downwind around the way. Sekkim can back me up up the middle either providing a grease or something to keep the dogs off of me while I confront the Ogerkin head on with some gunfire. Hopefully distracting him from you and Anaba and lower the boom on him.
Sekkim |
I see a creature in the woods hunting a bear with the help of some trained wolves. There's nothing unethical about that. Has anything made any threatening moves towards us? Has the ogrekin yelled "you are next!"?
So I'll say, "Colleagues, what is it you are preparing to fight?"

Anaba waits for buffs.
Shalelu ignores Sekkimm's call to delay. She moves forward and fires her bow at dog #1. "Ogerkin, bad news."
+1 Composite Longbow: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (4) + 10 = 141d8 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
The dog squeals and falls over with an arrow in its side.
The Black Bear attacks
Bite: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 41d6 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8 miss
Claw #1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (8) + 3 = 111d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 miss
Claw #2: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (7) + 3 = 101d4 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7 miss
Cela shape changes to a Mountain Lion and moves up.
Fahari advances as well (double move)
Rolande is up.
Rolande Deerborne |
The word is that with the Fort not online, monsters are moving closer to civilization and that is causing a concern for the powers that be. So get ready to back us up as we take this monster out, colleague.
I will move up the middle and unload at 30' with me pepperbox and +1 pistol, assuming no buffs, if Cela Blesses add +1 to the totals. I think I can fire this off, right Pablo? This is what you sent me.
Pepperbox one-handed: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 151d8 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Pistol one-handed: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 131d8 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Pepperbox two-handed: 1d20 + 10 ⇒ (16) + 10 = 261d8 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Pepperbox two-handed (rapidshot): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 211d8 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7
GM Pablo |
Rolande moves up 30' and fires twice (80' away = -6) and misses.
Buchart casts invisibility and moves up 30'
Fernleaf moves and gets stealthy.
Dog #2 Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 211d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Dog #3 Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 111d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Dog #4 Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (20) + 2 = 221d4 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2
Dog #5 Bite: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 181d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Dog #4 Confirm crit: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 101d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
The Black bear collapses from the bites.
The Ogrekin moves up and attacks Fahari

Buchart, since it's JUST an ogrekin (lol), I don't think I need Bull's Strength or Enlarge. We should save those for some other foe I am sure we will encounter. I am going to double move up to where the action is and prepare for battle.
GM Pablo |
Anaba advances (double move)
Shalelu moves into position where she can see the dog (Everyone in to Orb has cover so no target - Double Move).
Bear stabilize: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (2) + 3 = 5 The Bear bleeds out for 1 more. -12 (unconscious)
Cela Double moves next to the dog.
Fahari step to flank the dog and attacks.
