Ithylia Nassym |
Ithylia looked at Triel with her sword ready before glancing to the tracks and the mausoleum. "Do you, think they planted something? Or maybe they hid goblins in there? Should... we be ready for a fight?"
Triel Siadon |
"I'd be surprised if there weren't anything lying in wait for us in there." Triel replies, taking a couple of steps toward the mausoleum door. "Goblins attack the town, forget to burn the graveyard, and two sets of humanoid footprints are going inside the mausoleum? That doesn't strike you as being suspicious?"
Jack Churchill |
They're just goblins. They're about as organized as I am in the morning. They probably got lost during the raid, ran around in a circle a bunch of times, and ended up here.
Though Jack speaks as if there is no danger, he draws his ax anyway, he learned yesterday how much a surprise attack hurts, and doesn't want to repeat that mistake.
Ithylia Nassym |
Ithylia, donning her leather armor, pulls her Turquoise scarf out as well. "But it's not just goblins, Jack."
It takes a minute to don her armor. Thought it was likely she wouldn't have had it on if it didn't seem like they were hunting things since she had plans to preform later.
Triel Siadon |
Triel glares at the mausoleum door. "Why would someone make for the graveyard in the middle of a goblin raid?" It sounds like an honest question.
Seeking shelter? Opportunistic looting? Hmm...
Her train of thought is interrupted by the light spell Vanya cast making her eyes hurt. She promptly brings a hand up to shield her eyes under her helmet.
Artemis Deacon |
"Well they are from the night of the attack. Wait.." He examines the tracks again.
"Something was dragged off and on. See here and here?" Artemis points to the spots he's seen.
Hopefully my good track rolls continue so I look like I know what I am doing...
Triel Siadon |
Triel blinks rapidly to clear her eyes and looks over to where Artemis is pointing.
"Huh... so, looting then?" She approaches the door and tries listening at it.
Perception (Hearing): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
Ithylia Nassym |
Ithylia gave a giggle catching Vanya's excitement. "Oh boy! A real treasure hunt! Can we open it and find out what or who is in it?"
DM KLS |
As the door opens, light infiltrates the already dimly lit mausoleum, revealing everything in it as the door opens wider and wider. The faint shuffling sound from earlier seems to stop, as a more audible crackle and creaking sound emanates from the room. Unlike most other crackling and creaking, this sounds slightly, and more eerily, coordinated as it seems to approach the door.
Give me initiative rolls, as well as a Perception check. The Perception may be ignored however if Triel decides to throw the door open.
Triel Siadon |
Would Triel need to make a Perception roll since she heard whatever's in there moving around already?
Initiative: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24
Perception (If Needed): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27 -1 if Dazzled still applies = 26
And Triel's not going to throw the door open.
Ithylia Nassym |
Perception: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (16) + 7 = 23
Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (18) + 2 = 20
As the door opened, Ithylia kept looking around Triel, eager to see what was making the noise.
Jack Churchill |
initiative: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (4) + 6 = 10
Jack Churchill |
A gentleman always lets a lady go first.
Ithylia Nassym |
Maybe Ithylia and her eagerness is blocking peoples views too XD Could explain the low Perception rolls vs her higher one.
DM KLS |
No map, Round 1. Vanya is up first. Going to change how combat flows, but after the first round for some obvious reasons.
Triel Siadon |
Round 1: Actions
No Action: 5-foot step into the mausoleum to get out of the sun
Standard Action: Ready Action: Strike the first skeleton that approaches me to attack
The battle fury rises to the forefront as Triel sees the skeletons through her sun-battered eyes. Anything her party mates have to say is lost to her... for now.
"Скелеты. Конечно." She grumbles, stepping inside the mausoleum. At least in the doorway, she's somewhat out of the sunlight. She raises her greatsword and points it at the walking dead.
"Ну, давай сейчас. Не стесняйся." She says, her sword readied to strike at the first skeleton to approach.
"Well, come on now. Don't be shy."
Readied Attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
Damage (Slashing): 2d6 + 3 ⇒ (2, 2) + 3 = 7
Ithylia Nassym |
"скелети! скелети! SKELETONS!" Ithylia cried out, no longer bouncy excited.
Ithylia took a step back to let the more... combat oriented members take charge. Pulling out her fiddle and started to play. Her song was full of accented pizzicato and staccato.
Round 1
Free: 5ft step away
Move: Pull out Fiddle
Standard: Start up Inspire Courage with her fiddle.
Skeletons!
DM KLS |
The skeletons move fairly quickly towards the open door as they shuffle, the first one approaching Triel. As Triel swings her blade, it misses the mass of walking bones, while allowing the movement of her body to stay clear of it's broken blade. However, she isn't quite as lucky as the second skeleton's blade makes contact in a lucky spot as it manages to tear through cloth in the armor, slicing her flesh.
The skeletons move up to in front of Triel. The first skeleton misses, the second skeleton hits, 6 lethal to Triel. Cian is next unless Vanya wishes to act now that the skeletons are closer.
Vanyalanthiriel Giliath |
Vanya steps forward, near Triel and chants arcane words, she spreads her hands and a sheet of flame springs from her outstretched hands.
Burning Hands for Damage: 1d4 ⇒ 1 with a DC 15 Reflex for half. If the save is failed, the target is Dazzled for 1 round (Starsoul Bloodline Arcana)
The flames are bright, but seem to be less hot than they should be. I need to practice more!
Cian Molan |
Cian shivers. Magic may not be the mist natural thing in the world, but undead were far worse, and a reason he avoided exploring ancient crypts.
"Remind me to teach you my spells, Vanya." Cian mutters as he calls the fire in his blood into being and throws it at one of the skeletons. "Ignis Jet!"
Target: 2 = dazzled skeleton: 1d2 ⇒ 1
Selected Flame Jet(Fire) vs Skeleton 1: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (3) + 3 = 6
Fire Damage: 1d4 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
"I'll need to be taught how to aim though!" He groans.
Jack Churchill |
Jack rages, power attacks, and charges forward and swings and the nearest skeleton.
You look thin, have a knuckle sandwich!
Axe swing: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10 damage: 1d10 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Jack, to busy making up sweat one liners forgets to concentrate on actually hitting his target.
With rage, charage, and big game hunter, my AC to them is 14
Triel Siadon |
Round 2: Actions
Standard Action: Swing at the remaining skeleton!
It was a lucky blow.
The broken blade managed to slip between the layers of her scale mail and carved a nasty injury into her. It wasn't enough to drop her, but it was more than enough to REALLY torque her off.
Triel's eyes blaze with battle rage as she turns on the last skeleton.
"Вы не должны были этого делать." She growls as she swings her greatsword at it!
Attack (Inspire Courage): 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (18) + 3 = 21
Damage (Inspire Courage): 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (5, 2) + 4 = 11
Yep, the skeleton REALLY should not have done that.
DM KLS |
As Triel reacts to the tearing of her own flesh, her mighty blade swings through the air, and makes contact with a bone on the skeleton. And another. And another again, repeatedly until the blade strikes into the ground, with the skeleton falling into now shattered heaps.
Triel's attack connects and destroys the remaining skeleton.
