Foxglove Manor

Tsuto is at 1 hp, hopefully Denlar comes back to us so he can finish the fight...

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

Happy New Year, Everyone.

Here's to many more adventurous japes, larks and frolics for 2018!

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

Should be a good year!

Foxglove Manor

We've been playing for a little more than a year at this point, and I realize we haven't made nearly as much progress as I would like. We've also lost 50% of our players and I can't help but think its my fault for not running a better game.

So I made a (delayed) new years resolution to be more active and try to improve my GMing here. This could mean being a little more aggressive with botting people (which I only did if they asked me to or after big periods of inactivity), so please bear with me.

I also plan on keeping only 3 players for now, with an NPC helping the party. I'll try to find more players when we get to book 2.

HP 29 l AC 16 (T10; FF 16) l F +5/R +1/W +2 l Ini 0 l Per +5 (6 vs Gaints) Melee +6(Armor Spikes 1d6+3) l CMD 16 l CMB +6

If RL is interfering I can understand, I have 2 games and they feel slow to me but if people only do 1 post a day it will be slow.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

It's all good.

Running a bit slow is better than not running at all, I reckon.

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

If you want help with improvement, feel free to PM me if you ever want advice/help/opinions. I don't mind taking the time to give meaningful feedback.

Other than that, for increasing game tempo I can only promise 1 post per day. I will admit I've been behind on this, but I have also been tidying up other stuff so that I can manage that better.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

I'm good for one post a day.
Most days, anyway...

HP 29 l AC 16 (T10; FF 16) l F +5/R +1/W +2 l Ini 0 l Per +5 (6 vs Gaints) Melee +6(Armor Spikes 1d6+3) l CMD 16 l CMB +6

TO play Denlar as a Pusher and damager I am going to have to invest in combat expertise, which isn't to bad but not so fun just to get improved bull rush.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

Power Attack and Furious Focus are good too...

Foxglove Manor

I believe one post per day on weekdays plus a post on weekeds is plenty for us to have some meaningful progress, as long as the pace remains consistent. You guys were generally already doing that so it would be mostly me keeping up with the speed and not slowing down on the few times someone doesn't post for a while.

--

Denlar, if you don't like Combat Expertise, Dirty Fighting could be a good alternative.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

Grudge Fighter is also a cool feat for rough-and-tough-and-can't-get-enough half-orcs.

Basically it's a freebie +1 to hit and damage against someone you're fighting anyway...

HP 29 l AC 16 (T10; FF 16) l F +5/R +1/W +2 l Ini 0 l Per +5 (6 vs Gaints) Melee +6(Armor Spikes 1d6+3) l CMD 16 l CMB +6

Ya I liked the look of this Archtype, thinking it would be fun to bullrush and push things around the field of battle.

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

To be on the safe side, I think we should call it a day. I think we could beat them, but we would probably risk someone going down pretty hard.

HP 29 l AC 16 (T10; FF 16) l F +5/R +1/W +2 l Ini 0 l Per +5 (6 vs Gaints) Melee +6(Armor Spikes 1d6+3) l CMD 16 l CMB +6

That is fair.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

Sounds good to me!
Especially with me currently lacking what firepower I do have.

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

Just wanted to mention this: I am having a lot of fun with this game. Denlar and Garbund you are being great and keeping the pace, and GM Wilken you are running the game quite well.

I just feel the need to tell you guys because many other players in other games I am in/run just don't keep up and it drags the game down.

HP 29 l AC 16 (T10; FF 16) l F +5/R +1/W +2 l Ini 0 l Per +5 (6 vs Gaints) Melee +6(Armor Spikes 1d6+3) l CMD 16 l CMB +6

Yes I have a few games that I am in that it happens, are we going to recruit a 4th?

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

Thanks; I try keeping up.

This has been pretty cool so far.

Despite the embarrassing bit of facing off with an irate father ... :p

Foxglove Manor

I'll do my best to make this game as fun as it can be, I'm not at the level I want to be yet, but i'll keep working towards that, thank you all for keeping the pace and not giving up.

About recruiting a 4th player. My idea was to wait the end of book 1 before before trying to recruit one or two more players, but if you want it to happen earlier than that we can do it. My main reason for wanting to wait until book 2 is that the transition period between the two adventures seems like a more natural time to introduce new characters and that a new player/character entering right know would probably have a hard time keeping up with all the events that happened before.

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

Sounds good to me.

I suggest starting recruitment when you think were about 2 weeks out from finishing the first book, that way they're ready to go when we head into book 2.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

That sounds good, so a new fourth player won't be spending as much time trying to get up to speed with what's happening.

Foxglove Manor

So I just finished a pretty long post and then the Paizo boards said "nope, try again".

So I'm trying again tomorrow.

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

I generally copy/paste to text document prior to posting... To many lost posts. Hope you don't have the problem again in the future.

Foxglove Manor

I tend to do that as well. But I forgot this one time and of course it came back to bite me.

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

That does always seem to be the case.

I will make a post tomorrow. Occupied tonight.

Foxglove Manor

This week I probably won't be able to post because of work. Everything should be back to normal by thursday.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

"Work" is a four letter word!
(figuratively and literally!)

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

Thanks for the heads up.

I keep forgetting you're in my Ironfang game. I saw your post and was like "well that's coincidental... wait a minute!"

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

@GM Wilken - Everything going alright?

Foxglove Manor

I'm good. Sorry, rough weekend.

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

No worries, hope your week is better than your weekend.

Foxglove Manor

Map has been updated for a while. Just pointing that out in case you were waiting for that to happen. Guess I should also point out that when I wrote "Skeleton" I wasn't meaning the undead monster Skeleton.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

I've just been a bit stunned with a cold for past few days...

Foxglove Manor

Just to keep you guys updated, you're currently at 2683 xp, so a level up is on the horizon! Wait...Much closer than the horizon!

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

"On the Horizon" almost sounds like "There's light at the end of the shaft"
(A shaft with no ladder in it!) :D

HP 29 l AC 16 (T10; FF 16) l F +5/R +1/W +2 l Ini 0 l Per +5 (6 vs Gaints) Melee +6(Armor Spikes 1d6+3) l CMD 16 l CMB +6

Yes 617 xp to go

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

I am sorry about my recent posting. It should get better come May. Currently I have a work project that's taking far to much of my time and attention.

Still, I will try a bit harder. Good job with keeping the game moving.

Foxglove Manor

Thanks for the heads-up, don't push yourself too much.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

`allo, `allo, `allo!

Sorry I've not posted a thing for four days.

I had a decidedly unplanned trip to the hospital.
And there's no Internet access where I was, sad to say...

Thing is I had a spill down two whole stairs in my flat and landed just right (or horribly wrong) on my right knee.

Turns out I tore the patella (?) tendon that holds my right kneecap in place.

I've been in the hospital from Thursday night until an hour ago.

Had to wait a while for the surgery because of a crazy busy weekend at the hospital ER and all that.

So I ought not be going anywhere outside my flat for quite a while. Have to wear a knee immobilizer for six weeks. Lotsa fun (sarcasm!).

But if I do go off radar again like this, please feel free to bot me.

This was rather unexpected, and hopefully won't happen again!

Thanks for your patience, all!

I'll post a bit later tonight; I just need to have a bit of a lie-down for now...

Foxglove Manor

@Garbund No problem, welcome back, hope you get better fast.

Wow, that was a brutal encounter, I felt a TPK was surely coming your way, in fact, I'd say a TPK was the most likely scenario.

On the bright side, you all get 650 exp and are now at exactly 3333 experience, which puts you at, guess what? Level 3!

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

Wooo-hooo!

HP 29 l AC 16 (T10; FF 16) l F +5/R +1/W +2 l Ini 0 l Per +5 (6 vs Gaints) Melee +6(Armor Spikes 1d6+3) l CMD 16 l CMB +6

Leveled Denlar, took Combat Expertise to get the Bull rush and over run feats to add in.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

I've levelled up Garbund as well, with the following changes:
• FCB: +1 level 0 spell
• Third level bloodline power: Dragon Resistance (fire 5, +1 natural AC)
• Third level bloodline spell: Enlarge Person (Efreeti)
• Level 0 spell: Read Magic
• Level 1 spell: Magic Missile
• Skills: disguise +1, know (arcana) +1, perception +1, spellcraft +1, and use magic device +1
• Background Skills: know (engineering), know (geography)

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

I will be travelling this weekend, you probably won't hear from me until Sunday but I might find time to post. I will definitely be levelled up by Monday.

Male Human HP 28/32 | AC 20, T 12, FF 17 | Fort +3, Ref +4, Will +4 | Init +2 | Perception +1 Destructive Smite (3/4) Channel (2/3, 2d6)

I am currently partial to time hopping to next morning to begin the next day in the dungeon. If anyone wants to do something else I am all ears though.

Male Half-Orc Sorcerer (inactive)

No objections

HP 29 l AC 16 (T10; FF 16) l F +5/R +1/W +2 l Ini 0 l Per +5 (6 vs Gaints) Melee +6(Armor Spikes 1d6+3) l CMD 16 l CMB +6

Denlar is good with that as well

Foxglove Manor

Forgot to tell you about Erylium's loot, she had:

+1 cold iron returning dagger, tiara worth 50 gp, obsidian unholy symbol of Lamashtu worth 10 gp

If no one wants the dagger, Viridi could use the dpr boost while she is in the party.

HP 29 l AC 16 (T10; FF 16) l F +5/R +1/W +2 l Ini 0 l Per +5 (6 vs Gaints) Melee +6(Armor Spikes 1d6+3) l CMD 16 l CMB +6

That works for Denlar, I have the Ranseur
