quivers of barbed arrows. The wall where the door
once was has been smashed in.

entrance hall is now swathed in horror. Dried blood
cakes the stone walls; bits and pieces of armor,
weaponry, and flesh litter the floor; and flies cloud
the air. Tapestries that once bore the insignia of the
Black Arrows have been torn from the walls and now
lie on the floor in shreds, coated with filth.

A single set of double doors allows entrance to
the central keep of Fort Rannick. The doors are
made of oak and have been brutally battered and
savaged. Crude repairs have been effected, but the
doors still hang somewhat askew.

"I don't have an opinion. We don't know where that thing is holed up and we don't know if the ogres are all outside, all inside or some of both. It seems likely that some went outside to fight the fires and I would have thought we would find them here if they had come back. Outside, the ogres have more of an advantage. Unless we get them to a choke point like the entry doors, they can surround us and then we run the risk if anyone is upstairs of getting flanked. We run some of the same risk with the ogres coming from behind if we head upstairs, but the terrain may be more favorable to us. I also thought about sending Tarin on another scouting mission, but if he gets caught by that thing alone, it could be bad so we should only do it from someplace like the front doors where we could keep an eye on him."

Explosions, and magic missiles, and the occasional thrown club join the fray. That takes the fight from a close thing to a route.

Ogres lay on the ground, all over there is blood and burned fat and stench. But the tow rangers stand wounded and panting, but they stand. Phooka seems drained as well.

I am. For spells, I'm going to keep divine favor as my default level 1 spell. Switch my default level 2 to litany of righteousness. And the new level 3 default will be blessing of fervor. I'll let you know prior to any game segment if I'll switch those.
