Darin looks at the door to the south - the fire and gas have to be coming from somewhere, quite possibly the big fellow with the sword. Seeing the gnome next to him however he decides to trust that they can at least interrupt the chaos.
Before we go further up we should check the room to the south. Do you have anything that can cause a lot of chaos in a closed room?

Ok, moved Unalaq to the bottom of the stairs which is far as he can go because of Bear and Fernus in front of him. I think Fernus might have been able to move up them this round, but maybe not.
