Loarin Valeguard |
"Let's keep moving and hope we can finish searching this place quickly. Yes it would be good to find any more victims if we can save them. I doubt there will be any with the previous victims tied up as scarecrows." He says hoping that if they do find any victims they will be safe.
He scans the room quickly and looks at the mold for a few extra seconds to see if it is dangerous.

Tarinhilliberanavius |
Tarinhil asks, "Am I the only one worried about what we might find in the tub?"
Loarin Valeguard |
Quietly whispering as he follows the others into the washroom, "Check it out Bear..."
Bear aka Orlog |
Bear pulls out a scroll of speak with animals and then proceeds to have a conversation with the Rat, asking it about what is has seen in the house. He lets is know that he will get the rat free of the tub.
Bear aka Orlog |
Bear will be careful handling the rat and will examine it to see if it looks diseased.
Heal check take a 10 for a 20+.
If it is dsieased he will put it out of its misery. SPLAT.
Nothing to see here but a poor diseased rat.
MiniGM |
1d20 ⇒ 10
It tries to bite Bear as he picks it up, obviously insane, but it misses as Bear is prepared. He sees it is diseased then he splatters it
didn't even try to remove disease poor rat
Besr leads them to the next room
This oak-paneled chamber must have once
been breathtaking, but is a sad sight now-the
floorboards are warped with moisture and the
paneling scratched and spotted with mold. A grand
piano, its surface splotchy and keys warped, leans
tiredly in the southeast corner.
There is a whimpering sound coming from under the piano.
Loarin Valeguard |
Remove disease on a rat?! Are you crazy!!! Plus we would need break enchantment first to get rid of the insanity.
Whispering once more as they enter the oak-paneled chamber, "Bear, would you do the honors please." He still keeps his ears and eyes open for anything moving or more amiss.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10
Fernus Stonecall |
Fernus squats and tries to look under the piano from a safe distance to see what is causing the whimpering.
"Hello? Are you hurt? We're friendly."
Fernus is just asking for trouble ^^
Tarinhilliberanavius |
Tarinhil shakes his head, "I hope this isn't another trick... or another diseased rat."
Fernus Stonecall |
"That's Griff!" Fernus exclaims excitedly. "The dog of Aldern Foxglove. The two of them would never be parted willingly, Aldern loved that dog."
Fernus crawls in a little bit closer, pulling out a small dry sausage from his rations and tries to attract Griff from out under the piano.
"Griff? Griff! Here boy! Here boy! Remember me? Look what I've got for you, a nice tasty sausage treat."
Handle Animal: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (15) + 6 = 21
Fernus Stonecall |
Fernus pats Griff silently and looks up at the others with a questioning look.
"Something must've happened to Aldern. Hopefully he's still alive."
Loarin Valeguard |
He takes a closer look to see if the dog is diseased or any form of undeath. Not touching it yet.

Taking out half of a ration to feed the protein to the dog. "Griff seems to be fine, a bit malnourished but at least not diseased or turning. Here boy."
Once that is done he walks around the room looking for any clues to what may have gone on in the mansion and where the dog's master is presently.
Any other doors to the room besides the one we came through?
Unalaq |
Unalaq detects evil on Griff while waiting to see if Bear is able to speak with him.
Unalaq |
Or squirrel! Definitely chaotic evil to them!
Bear aka Orlog |
Bear will activate a minute of his totem ability and speak with Griff. I will ask him:
Where is your master?
Are there bad things in here?
Where are the bad things?
Can you take us to your master?
Where are the other "people"?
Maybe something else after I hear his answers.
MiniGM |
Bear will activate a minute of his totem ability and speak with Griff. I will ask him:
Where is your master? master gone. But not gone. Smells like master but not smell like master he says painfully sad
Are there bad things in here? lots.
Where are the bad things? all over everything smells wrong
Can you take us to your master? master told me to stay then not master any more. Try to hurt me. so sad
Where are the other "people"? He cocks his head at this trying to understandMaybe something else after I hear his answers.
Bear aka Orlog |
Bear relays what he has heard.
Looks like his master is a nasty now. Lets go find him and end him.
Where is master now, can you take us to him? We will set him free.
Bear aka Orlog |
Bear throws the dog some jerky. We will try to find you a new home were you will be fed and happy! Stay here until we come back.
Not much use this one. Lets keep moving.
He doesn't mind other animals but he prefers his own kind...Bears.
Loarin Valeguard |
Continues to look around the room likely not finding any clues.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24
Loarin Valeguard |
I will look at the piano and the other objects in the room. Not touching it and definitely not playing it.
Loarin Valeguard |
Well I gave up the meat from one of my rations and called to the dog earlier. Fernus and Bear also gave it some meat.
It might just follow us for those reasons.
"Yes leaving Griff here is likely the best choice, he has survived so far and we can collect him once we come back and deal with the vileness of this place, let alone Fothglove, that's his name right?" He says agreeing with Bear and getting ready to move on from this room.
Loarin Valeguard |
Pulling out his messkit from his backpack and puts the bowl on the ground. Then pours some water from his waterskin to help the pup along.
Fernus Stonecall |
"We're not going to leave him here all alone are we?" Fernus asks the others, his face as innocent as a puppy's and big eyes staring at them. His lip is almost pouting and trembling as he feels very sorry for Griff and doesn't want him to suffer.
He pats Griff softly as he laps up the water from the bowl.
"His name is Foxglove. Though according to what Bear said, he might not be called Foxglove anymore..."
Loarin Valeguard |
"There are evil creatures in this mansion, let alone that ghost, we don't want Griff to get hurt so it would be best to leave him behind for now. We will take him with us once we leave and before we burn the place to the ground." He says with a reassuring voice and patting Fernus on the back.
Diplomacy: 1d20 + 14 ⇒ (2) + 14 = 16 I know it doesn't affect PC's but I just wanted to throw it out there! ;)
Tarinhilliberanavius |
Tarinhil says, "Maybe we should let the dog out, just so that it's safe from anything hostile that might be in here? I'd hate to have the malevolent spirits in here harm it..."
Tarinhil pauses and examines the piano while the others are feeding the dog. There's a lot of open space in there, it's not a bad hiding spot...
Perception: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (9) + 9 = 18
Tarinhilliberanavius |
Tarinhil will take a moment to check if it's trapped, and then open it.
Valeria Vanessa Valdemar |
Val draws her blade, looking around, she still appears to be very quiet and reserved about all of this.
Loarin Valeguard |
So the grand piano is closed? Shall we open it and have some fun? I thought the dog was merely below the piano.
"Well if you think it will be safer roaming and following us, where it has been below it for at least a week and has been safe, go for it. Let's open the piano Foxglove might actually be in there, since he is likely a ghast or worse now." He says with a smirk.
