Eagle Wolfhand |
PerC: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Eagle reacts calmly and cool to the sudden undead adversaries. With a short breath, he had his bow in front of him, arrow drawn, and the string at his ear. Which wh-which which one shoould I shoooot? Eagle hums to himself before his shot. He looks at the skeleton nearest to himSkeleton 1 and decides to take his shot.
Shot on Skellybones: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (11) + 5 = 16
Bones broken: 1d8 ⇒ 3
Xai Bailong |
"Skeletons?! How distasteful!" Xai says as she takes up a fighting stance. She closes on the skeleton that Eagle shot at and attempts to attack it. I'm assuming I can make it to the skelly in one move action.
Hoping to fare better against the undead creature than the day before, Xai sucks in a long breath as she strides forward and focuses on her memories of the White Dragon Thundering Palm style. She delivers a huge palm thrust to the base of the skeleton's rib cage...
Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24 :D
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (4) + 3 = 7
Julen Brelade |
"Does Julen hold the morning dew? Keep these peace anew? Or the foulness before him sees a want to appease?
...
Then, when the sheriff is out of earshot... "Indeed, I find this sheriff weak at knees."
He draws his sword with his right hand, holding the lantern high in his other one.

Sorry, I forgot to mention that a new map is up, make sure you can see it. If I ever wind up with enough free time, I might try and figure out something like Roll20. Any suggestions on that?
Eagle and Julen are too distracted by the skeltons to see anything useful.
Eagle's arrow knocks off one of the skeleton's legs, leaving it two crawl.
Skeleton 1 tries to crawl after Eagle, but didn't make it very far when Xai crushed his head.
When the fighting is over, the sheriff comes down and apologizes for running off. Then you all notice the open sarcophagus at around the same time. The remains of the last priest are missing.
Eagle Wolfhand |
PerC : 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (14) + 9 = 23
"Hold the lamp steady Julen, I think I see something!" Eagle uses his sharp vision to inspect the open sarcophagus.

Xai Bailong |
Wait, are we out of combat? I thought we still had another Skeleton to deal with.
EDIT: Whoops, I'm guessing Yngwie's AoO finished it off.
"Well, that was underwhelming," Xai says, cracking her knuckles and blowing the bone powder from her arms. She idly kicks the shattered jawbone from her path and wanders over to where Julen and Eagle are inspecting the sarcophagus. "What'd we find?"
Wivvy |
The sheriff grunts, "No, but my guess is the the goblin raid was just a ruse. This is what they were really after." Then he hands each of you 5gp as he leaves. "For your service,"he says, then he turns around and meets them in the eye, "and your silence." Then he walks out of the tomb.
Eagle Wolfhand |
Well... What next, all? Is no one else just a tad curious as to why our goblin friends took such a fancy about those saintly bones? Seems like an awful amount of effort for a corpse.
Xai Bailong |
"I suspect that if we knew more about the priest whose bones were taken, we might understand the reason for the crime... and for why they felt it was important enough to unleash a bunch of goblins into Sandpoint to cover their effort. Let's see if we can find out anything useful. Maybe Ameiko would know?"
Yngwie Pitborn |
"Silence my left arse cheek. Lets figure out who done this. Birdie, I dont suppose it'd be a stretch to say you could find tracks or clues with the puppy there? Im guessing those creepers werent here by accident either..." Yngwie's eyes shine like a nocturnal animal's in torchlight as he augments his vision momentarily.

Julen Brelade |
"Often we are told to make the grave straight, or to set aside concern for simple courtesy. Why tis found, this grave, a lair of uncertainty. How can that be? Did the man rise a-stumbling-gait the forsaken body given force to walk in the night animated anew?"
"Wistfulness. Come my spade. There is no ancient gentleman but gardeners, ditchers, and grave-makers. They hold up Aroden’s profession. They dig down beyond reach of the sun."
Dear Julen seems prepared to leave the tomb.
Wivvy |
Yngwie can feel a faintly magical presence coming from the corner of the tomb, it is a discarded Robe of Bones which is now useless and only faintly magical.
Eagle takes 10 for 18 on a survival check and can tell that the goblins came and went by jumping over the wall of the town.
Wivvy |
Oh and you guys all get 70xp a piece.
To give you guys an idea of what's happening right now, it's about noon now. You probably would be getting pretty hungry at the moment. You're all standing in a graveyard now. The sheriff has headed back to his office and has more than paid for your lunch, and the best place you know to eat is the Rusty Dragon.
Eagle Wolfhand |
"Well, Julen seems a tad scared of ghosts, and Yngwie seems fascinated on the great deal he got on that dirty robe. I for one, am hungry. What say we head over to the Rusty and grab a bite? We can check out the other side of the wall over there where the gobbies got in afterwards. " Eagle points to the area of the wall that the tracks lead to.

As you are all walking back to the Rusty Dragon to get some lunch, you are all halted by a beautiful young women calling out to the group and falls theatrically into Yngwie's arms. "Yngwie! Oh Yngwie you must help me! There are rats in my basement! Rats! Surely the big strong hero of Sandpoint can handle a few rats right? Oh please, I need you! She throws her hand to her forehead as she speaks, looking as stressed as possible.
Eagle Wolfhand |
I wholeheartedly disagree, dear Xai, Eagle says with a facetious gleam in his eye. A rat problem is a problem indeed. Yngwie, particularly for a daisy like this. Under his breath, he mutters, Ya lucky bastard. Eagle enjoys the awkward situation. It quenches his thirst for social stimulus.
Wivvy |
Glad to see that you didn't dissapoint ol' pal!
Yngwie Pitborn |
there is no way I can go with what's gonna happen next knowing that my brother is on the other end of this... lets just say Yngwie shows up at the Rusty Dragon an hour later with a very big smile on, unless something else happens with her...

Xai Bailong |
"Boar hunting? ...not particularly... but I guess if everybody else wants to, then maybe..." Xai shrugs. "I take it this boar hunting is some sort of male bonding experience for you Sandpoint folk? I was likely male in one of my past lives or another, so I suppose I qualify on some level..."
Eagle Wolfhand |
Good one Xai!
Eagle's eye's widen. A dire boar was a rite of passage for those who worship Saren. He had to get the others on board, if they weren't already.
Well, we've yet to find a fight hard enough to give any of us a challenge yet in our young acquaintanceship, this could be an interesting challenge. He directs his language then at Foxglove,
Will we be making a little money on the side?
Wivvy |
Xai Bailong |
"Flattery will get you nowhere, friend Foxglove," Xai says, though clearly not offended by his comments, if the vaguely reddish glow in her cheeks is any indication. "Very well. I'm still not sure I find the idea of a boar hunt tasteful, but I'll go along with it if you really think we'll have a good time. I've always wanted a horse. Can you find me a blue one? I don't know if they make blue ones, but if they do, I would like one of those, if you please."
