Hello everyone. The game will officially start on the 7th. This gives me a little extra time to prep and finish auditing character sheets, as well as makes some tweaks to the AP. I'm excited to get things started, and see your characters in action.

EDIT: Here's some things I've noticed so far. If I'm mistaken, please explain. I've got about a dozen different RPG rule sets rambling around in my brain, so sometimes I get stuff mixed up.

Ronah's current equipment exceeds her maximum load.

Falkin has nothing to carry his money or scrolls in. He is also entitled to one free starting outfit should he want it.


Actually it doesn't. My maximum is 90 lbs as the MW backpack makes it so my strength is treated as 1 higher for carrying capacity and her current load is 82 lbs.

In addition she'd want to ditch the normal backpack that's part of her kit (as well as some other things in it but I might as well use caltrops and the such).

EDIT: I actually have another question in regards to the future of my character. At 4th level the Unchained Rogue gets the Debilitating Strike ability and my archetype keeps that ability. However that ability triggers of Sneak Attack, which I traded in.

I asked the writer of the archetype about this and she basically suggested to have it trigger of dreamstrikes that meet the requirements for sneak attacks (her full answer is found here). That still is only a suggestion though so my question is, would you agree with said suggestion?

I am aware of your masterwork backpack. Perhaps I have miscalculated something. I currently see 102.1 lbs of gear for Ronah. That doesn't take into account any items that are part of the Rogue's Kit that you don't want. You can see what I'm looking at on this inventory sheet and help me figure out what I'm doing to get a different number than you are.

I agree with that suggestion. It seems intuitive that it would trigger dreamstrike instead.


I think I know where the difference comes from: You looked at all the contents of the Rogue's kit separately while I looked at them as a single thing.

If you add them all up you get to 54 lbs while the kit as a single unit somehow weighs 37 lbs. I guess that's some sort of bonus on Paizo's end as most kits have either a cost or weight discount and in some cases both.

I did mess up on the Baiju, I had those at half weight. So I get to 84 lbs total.

After some investigating, it seems that the kit's weight is supposed to be between the total gear weight of a medium and small set of the listed gear. Why the designers would do that is a mystery to me, but they did it. Anyways, now I know. Easy fix.

I never realized that the kits were supposed to offer Weight savings. All this time I thought it was just a quick single purchase to get someone started.

Startling development: My starting post is not showing up in the Gameplay tab for me. Can any of you see it?

EDIT: It appears that I goofed something up, and am waiting for the mods to fix it. Keep an eye on the Gameplay tab. I will post there as soon as this issue is resolved. Sorry for the delay! Hopefully the issue will be resolved before the day is out.

Vidar's traits are not on his profile. He has a pocket watch in his inventory, but by my account cannot afford this item. Perhaps something left over from your scale-down? Additionally, the abilities on his profile are one point over the point buy limit. Please clarify or remedy these things as soon as you have time.

Ok, so I had missed the pocket watch, that's gone now.
The traits are fixed, I had missed a bracket and that was enough to mess that up.
The ability bonus is due to the Physical enchantment ability from being a transmuter.

Yeah, hop into the gameplay thread and have a look. We haven't really teamed up yet or anything so you have loads of freedom with how you want to present yourself.

Maybe tell us how you spent part of the day and conveniently arrive at a table with the other characters or something.

I joined the fray!

The original GM had high ambitions of 2 posts per day. That sounds fun, but probably not realistic. 1 post per day would be nice, though 3 per week is fine as a minimum I suppose. Either way I hope people get back into things quickly despite the long absence.

Are you going to make any adjustments for 6 players? This campaign was originally designed for 4 players I believe. Though I understand that you kind of had to recruit someone capable of healing...

I'm planning a bit ahead and I found the following hex from the wood spirit that I can possibly select starting at 3rd level:

Hex of Lignification (Su): The shaman causes a creature within 30 feet to turn into a twisted, treelike shape for 2 rounds. The target gains hardness 5 but is staggered, and can negate the effect with a successful Fortitude saving throw. Whether or not the target succeeds at its save, it can’t be the target of this hex again for 24 hours.

I could potentially use it to target Garrick (or someone else in meele) to make them able to resist damage. Hardness 5 would make you take 5 less damage from most attacks. Though you would have to (perhaps willingly?) fail the save and it would leave you staggered. It's just an idea I found interesting. What do you think of turning mr. Oakbeard into an oak for real?

After level 7 Irisa can potentially heal a lot better by picking the life spirit which gives her the ability to channel to heal 1+cha times per day. Though that's quite a way off. We'll have a better idea about if we really need that much more healing by the time we get there.

@Falkin: Regarding the Spirit Guide, the rules say the following: A spirit guide cannot bond with a spirit that is incompatible with her alignment, ethos, or mystery (GM’s discretion). I'm wondering what spirits (if any) I would be unable to select?

@All: Since paizo was done for so long, I've been wondering, perhaps it would be wise to be able to discuss the game somewhere else as well, not just on these boards? Someone could make a discord server where we can discuss the game? What do people think?

It seems like it would be situationally useful -- good thing if we're trying to block a hallway or doorway -- hardness plus the fast healing from the bloodrage would certainly be a good mix.... But staggered means no AoOs or full attacks -- and, really, no ability to follow/react to other people's movement, so not an all-the-time sort of tactic.

Though, from an in-character, non-mechanics perspective, it would sort of feel like the hex was boosting Garrick's verdant bloodline.
