Okay, removed the skill points. Everything is up to date now. Also, be mindful of Father's Perception, it changed by a lot.

I think we are all ready to move ahead, so I am going to start moving things ahead. I am going to use a fairly familiar contrivance to get the new characters into the action right away, instead of waiting for the rest of the party to reach the University, as there are a few optional encounters that might come up before then.

A question for Aerick: What is your relationship/rank within the church of Pharasma? I ask, as character class does not always provide a clear picture of what that relationship or role might be. Obviously you serve Pharasma, but in what way?

Are you part of an Inquisitorial unit, charged with tracking down Necromancy and the Undead, as well as heretics of the church, or are you a regular church member, who just happens to have a special interest in that area?

Are you an official member/employee of the church, or more of an educated dedicated lay-person, like a deacon?

You could be a Priest, as Priest is more a title than a class, and you do not have to be a Cleric to be a Priest.

For reference, here is the entry from the Wiki:

http://pathfinder.wikia.com/wiki/Pharasma wrote:

Worshipers and Clergy

Many of Pharasma's worshipers are those closely aligned with either burgeoning life or terminating death. These include midwives, grave diggers, and morticians. Her priests are typically clerics, diviners, and necromancers that choose not to create undead. Her followers view the undead with hatred and consider them a great abomination. They view putting the undead to rest as a holy duty. The creation of undead is outlawed, and commanding undestroyed undead is not much liked either.

Much of this is not hard and fast, as there is not a great deal of background on the area, so much falls on the question: How do you see yourself relating to the Church as a whole?

Killer GM

Can I get everyone to copy this into the Gender field of their profile, and fill it out with the information appropriate to you character? It makes things nice and convenient for me when it comes time to look up a stat on your character. Thanks.

| HP / | AC (T , FF ) | CMD | F + | R + | W + | Init + | Per + |

I would also like to make a change to the way combat has been conducted, in order to allow things to go a bit more smoothly. I would like to roll initiative for everyone, as I am doing now, but instead of holding strictly to the Initiative order, it will simply reflect whether the good guys or your opponents go first. After that, the order in which you post will determine the order in which events unfold. This helps to avoid issues like the opponent you had targeted for your action being dead when it comes to your turn, as someone who posted after you went before you in the initiative.

I have used this system in other PbP games, and find it tends to run much smoother than the stricter initiative interpretation we've been using so far.

Do you want that specific format, or could I just add CMD to my current entry?

Also, I normally put my in the class/level field. If I put it in gender, do you want it to be before the gender, so the quick stats show up before my gender/race/class.

As an aside, some of my players put theirs in a spoiler in the class/level block, would this be acceptable (not a big fan myself)?

Aerick was formerly the member of an inquisitorial unit, tasked with hunting down a particular necromancer, but after the completion of that task he "retired", so to speak. Now, he just serves the Lepidstadt church of Pharasma in whatever capacity they require (typically as a guard or for his expertise or spellcasting nowadays).

Good to go here I think.

I'm not picky about the format, mostly just that the necessary information is included, and so you can keep yours the way you have it, if you like, just adding in CMB. As for the field, again, it doesn't make much of a difference; I said gender as not everyone is aware of which fields will actually appear along side your name, and which will not.

Zeth, in case you were unaware (as the PbP newbee), the actual game takes place in another forum, found here. If you are looking for it in the future, the tab for it can be found at the top of the page. This is discussion forum, and is usually used for ooc talk (Out-of-Character), mechanical or rules questions, as well as general conversation. The Gameplay tab is where the In-Character element of the game takes place, while the Campaign info tab will usually contain information on the game itself, such as important people to remember, house rules, and tracking information.

Take a look at the last few posts, as there was some information posted there for you. Start with this post here. Post as soon as you feel ready to dive in.

ah, alright.

| HP 17/17 | AC14 (T14 , FF11 ) | +12CMD | F +3 | R +4 | W +5 (+2 vs Fear) | Init + 8| Per + 7| Wizard 4

should I be posting whenever I feel like I've been queue'd? I imagine it is as such during non-combat moments. Or should I be waiting for everyone to post before posting again?

Killer GM

Post as often as you like. Combat is pretty much the only time you are restricted in how much you can do. In all other situations, it is more like a real conversation; not everybody takes turns talking, or even talks at all during a given conversation.

Killer GM

Everyone (well Delia and Ember, anyway) has changed their profile pictures. It's throwing me off when I look at the forum. I keep thinking, who are these people, where is my game...

| HP: 27/27 | AC: 17 (T:11 , FF: 16 ) | CMD: 15 | F +6 | R +2 | W +7 | Init +3 | Per +6 | Channel: 7/7

Sorry.
I keep hoping that they will put up the original Changeling picture, but no luck so far. But since they had some other pictures, I went with one of them.
Time for a little change.

I actually started looking just to see if I could find a better pic for Father (which clearly I didn't), and decided to have a look for Delia as well. I needed to find the right balance between pretty, youthful (but not childlike), yet still not smiling. There were very few that worked out, and I think the one I picked actually works well for her. It says spoiled princess, but not total b%*+&, to me.

Work was busier than expected so I wasn't able to get much writing done. I have some done but may not get to post it until Saturday or Sunday.

Don't mean to be rude, however, are we waiting for something?

You must be new to play-by-post.

No, I don't think so. We're just roleplaying for now.

how do I 'like' a comment here? lol

Zeth - you like comments with the '+' sign in the upper left-hand corner of each text box.

Also, crafting magic items doesn't work like how you think it does. The craft skill is used for crafting mundane items, you need to invest in craft feats to craft magical items. Here, let me link them to you.

Craft Wondrous Item

Craft Wondrous Arms and Armor

There are actually lots of these. They include Wands, Rings, Constructs, Staves, Rods, etc. You need a new feat for every kind of magic item you wish to make.

Killer GM

My house rules compressed Magic Item Creation down to a single feat: Craft Magic Item. It can only be used in a fashion for which you would otherwise meet the level and crafting requirements though. It could also be thought of as a scaling feat however, Craft Scroll at level 1, Wondrous Item and Potions at Level 3, Weapons and armour at 5, etc.

Since Wizards get Scribe Scroll at level 1 as a free feat, it counts as this feat, and so he does have the feats needed to craft scrolls, potions, or wondrous objects.

Haven't seen this house rule put to major tests, so this campaign may be a bit of a test run in that regard. I reserve the right to fix it later if it does become excessive, somehow. The thinking in doing this was both to provide a balance to the host of martial feats that are affected by my house rules, as well as to eliminate the feat investments needed to craft multiple objects. In most campaigns, the crafting feats either get ignored, or the feat tax is spread out across multiple characters for different forms. Here, a crafter can be a crafter.

Again, we will see how it plays out long term.

Full list of house rules is here.

I totally just remembered, but come to think of it, Delia would not think of it yet as she is unsure of what Ried is trying to do (since he has not yet made the Mutagen). I took the Lesser Evolution Surge for my latest spell. I can give Father the Scent ability (granted only for 4 minutes).

Interesting, after that God awful fight, I would think we'd start to build a bond. Probably should start sharing capability a bit more, huh?

Not that I meant that I didn't know about your mutagen or anything. I just meant in this instance that I don't think she would realize you were going to use a mutagen to gain scent, or that you could (without looking into it, I didn't know you could but I could see it being a discovery).

All the same, she just learned how to evolve Father further with her new spell, and likely didn't have need for it before, so it is a new idea even for her.

My Skull & Shackles game died, and I have decided to scrap it and start over with Mummy's Mask. As such I have started an invite only recruitment thread, and everyone here is encouraged to apply to the game. I still have a few players from the previous game, so am only looking for 2 players. I may possibly need up to 4, based on whether all my S&S players are staying or not, in order to get a 6 person team.

Killer GM

I'm going to be moving this weekend, so I may be incommunicado for a few days. I'll touch base as soon as I can.

Delia, thanks for the invite, but I'm holding out on Mummys Mask until a friend of mine does it as a Dark Sun conversion. Super excited about it, though!

Killer GM

I'm back at work. The move went relatively smoothly, but I still don't have regular internet access. I'll get things moving again as soon as I'm able.

Any luck with Internet access R2?

Killer GM

Yes, internet has been restored for a while now, thankfully. Lately the issues have been ones more concerning general business. Work has been crazy lately, no pun intended. I work in psychiatry, and there is something about this time of year that is bad for anyone prone to mania or radical mood shifts; the sudden increase in the amount of daylight, as well the rising temperatures, all seems to have an effect that just kicks that particular type of brain into overdrive. Not only are there just massive numbers of unstable people to deal with, but even just talking to people experiencing a manic episode can be very draining, whether or not they are experiencing psychosis, as they are very hard to keep up with or to keep on topic. I have had little time, and little energy, left at the end of the day for recreation.

I did get the next post typed up the other day, but then realized I was having a problem with my maps program. I can't create a map at present, which has also served to interrupt my flow. As I said before, I will endeavour to get back on track quickly.
