How This Scene Would Have Gone:
Bluff Check: 20 (oh look, I didn't roll a six!)
"A shard you say? How fascinating? Tell me more?" apparently acquiescing to the blackmail and insult, rather than losing his ever-loving Taldan temper at having his pride very gently pricked. "What does it do, where can we find it, who has it now?"
Later...
"Fat moron let us go. Now we'll steal his shard and run away with it!" patterpatterpatter!
...
But no... I had to roll a -Six- and Eaton couldn't think of anything to say. What's he roll good on? Intimidate.
Dumbass.

Hey Edgar... It seems we need to get us boobs and a pretty face if we want Eaton to help us! :P
Not entirely necessary...
but helpful!
I still haven't decided whether Taldan Arrogance means that he'll bend over backwards to have her, then immediately turn around and brag about his 'conquest' or whether he'll develop genuine feelings.
Chaotic Good -vs- Taldor = Jerk

It's doable if you want to. The times of these events are pretty vague so we could have you guys return in the afternoon, find out what happened and then Tellar can meet up with them as nightfall comes.
To keep the flow going, I think we would split the scenes, so you would basically play the scenes in the afternoon with the Noblefolk, and also play the scenes with the scallywags that takes place at night.
Edgar Arrowni |
It's not that fire or killing is not allowed, its that Edgar would rather not do that if at all possible.
I've no problem with any of the others joining, but can they be stealthy enough? This is a covert operation is it not?
I'm totally going to eat it on my stealth rolls now that I said that...
Sinders |
Oh Sin doesn't wanna kill anyone either... But fire is fun! :D
Hmm. Well depending on who shows up, we can chop and change the plan. For example... Tellar comes, so now we have a "drunk" sailor to try stumble on to the ship, before asking directions to a particular Inn. This distracts the guards, we clamber up the ship... BOOM! We are on and off before anyone notices! :D

Eaton would like to get a scroll of Disguise Self for Phaedra. Always fun to add a new spell to your book/cat.
I think the intent from Eaton's point of view is to get her out, and then steal the shard out from under the Jerk Mayor and take it to his father.
Didn't the first Pirate AP just come out though?
So yeah, leaving the place, taking his carriage, b~*#&ing about having to do his bidding the whole way, and then once we're in private, communicating via written messages... perhaps we're being scryed on?
Tellar Bronsev |
Lol, writing that response for Eaton made me feel so old and weathered.
Although to be perfectly honest, Eaton you've really helped me nail down more of a 'feel' for Tellar that had been eluding me and nagging at me for a while. I'm really enjoying the stark contrast our two characters are creating just in these brief interactions and it's really helped me to flesh out the character in my mind. So kudos to you.

Hey guys and gal, both groups have an update comig later today, just away from my clutter at the moment. (yay iPhones. )
I do want to make one thing clear because sometimes it can get lost in the narrative. Although I write him as a character who thinks he has all the angles covered, Grobaras is not a railroad. I can think of two ways that the party can outsmart him without ever needing to set foot in the Irespan. And if I have learned anything in my years as a DM, it's that players can always come up with more. ( my favorite so far would be the star wars game where the PC's dropped a backpack sized demolition bomb onto Darth Vader's head. )
I am not saying you should or should not go into the dungeon, but there are a few different options.
Purplefixer |
Nope. They leave a distortion in the air. You can see them with a spot check. It's just an abysally high DC.
We likely won't spot one, but Eaton isn't out of his gourd thinking that we're being -watched- after that little feat of intellectual legerdemain.

Hi everyone,
I've had some personal issues in my life come to a boiling point this past week and its drained me. I'm going to aim to update both of my games on Paizo tomorrow (Friday) but if I don't, it's because I'm not in a good mindset for it.
Thanks for understanding, you guys have been awesome players and I love running these games, just need a breather and sadly have too much hassle in my life to get it now.
We will resume our regular broadcast shortly.
Rennick |
Same sentiment. Sorry for the derailing, I have full intentions to keep this game running! Please don't give up on me. I have some extra time tomorrow so I hope to update, if not then I will be putting us back on track Monday. I do aplogize for this, just in a very physically draining week. (I did six hours of stage combat today! @_@ )

They're broken. My wisdom teeth have been coming in for quite some time now, and while I was abroad sans health insurance, the top rear-most molars cracked along the inner seam where they meet the gums. Sometimes it feels like exposed nerves. Other days, no sensation at all. I had a root-canal a long while back through there, and I'm still boggling as to why they hurt.
Rennick |
Okay! We're back, may be a bit rocky but I think I'm ready to jump back into this. Though some plans are changing to give a bit more focus for a bit.
A note on Drow:
Keep in mind, that while almost every geek knows what a Drow is, in Golarion they are non-existent as far as the surface is concerned. They should be strange and mysterious, and only a very select few people know anything about them.

A bunch of stuff:
First of all, I want to thank everyone of you for sticking by me and this game through the stretch of deadness I just had. It's pretty cool to come back and have everyone of my players back in the saddle within a day. So again, thanks guys!
Game stuff: Eaton and Phaedra, the only update I can really put down for you two is "Tanyn prepares your backpack" So I'm leaving that section up to you two until you either leave, the others show up, or if you need something from Emilia before you go. Not neglecting you guys, just have little to add at this moment. >.>
Alright, so we're heading back into the world of Unhallowed Waters! And I'm psyched. U.W is a game I've dreamed about for a long time. When I say that I mean its a concept and game that I daydream about all the time, meaning that I've lots of ideas of guidelines for it, but at the same time its constantly evolving in my mind and I can't wait to see how it works out with you guys. I do plan to have a bunch of threads tied into this game that link into our main plot. This game's been inspired by a lot of different sources, a lot of them a lot more pulpy than I usually do. Conan, The Witcher series, Old D&D adventures, Planescape, Mass Effect, there's more than I can list.
I'll probably periodically rant about it in case people are interested, right now I'm being vague because I don't want to give away future plots, but players probably shouldn't expect a "typical" fantasy for the whole run.
Purplefixer |
Cool!
Maybe it was another game I was applying for that I thought was a Skull and Shackles precursor? @.o Sorry bout that. *laughs*
Yeah, I was waiting for the guys to finish their scene to see if they were going to come with us 'tomorrow morning'. Synching timelines. If we're good to go, I'll just post Eaton leaving the House? I actually had a whole post typed out and then decided NOT to send it, because .. you know..
Rule #3: DON'T SCOOBY.
Purplefixer |
It happens. S'okay, my SWToR guild just reached 80 people and I'm floundering to find time. Worse over, there was an issue with my financial aid, and I've dropped out of university. -Still- not enough time to play all the games I wanna play, write my supplements, and run the dang guild.
