Sihdrin takes a mouthful of the water and then passes the skin around to the others.

"Let us check this door," he says, walking over to the door.

I will open the door after Klick checks it, if he so desires. I get the feeling there's not a lot of security in these areas.

Klick will check just to be sure. "It's always the door you don't check that gets you killed...:-). Lets just assume going forward that anytime a door needs to be checked, Klick will take 20 to check it for a total of 24. It takes 2-minutes to do so, but unless we are in a hurry for some reason...ie running away...that shouldn't be an issue. That way we can all post for opening doors etc, without waiting for me to check the boards.

His stomach growling, Nik'o will approach Mani: "May I?"

Mani takes another nibble and then hands over the cheese. "Too bad we didn't have anything to cut this with, but I should be safe." Mani then takes a drink out of the proffered waterskin. "Thanks."

(-1 Con -2 Cha from sickness)

Nik'o chews happily. He looks at Mani at membles: I felt like a f- rat, getting out of that cage. Then I'm in a maze, only to find cheese!!!

He then moves behind Klick, eager to get out.

(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)

The door swings open as easily as the others, feeling as though the hinges were freshly greased.

The room is another small living space, a single bed in the far corner, this one with a large thick blanket covering it. Another desk sits in the corner with an inkwell and quill sitting on it and a stack of parchment.

Leaning against the frame of the desk is a satchel, its bag about as large as a large watermelon.

I apologize for the short update, my personal life is a little crazy right now. Be back in the swing of it soon.

(Male Elf Cavalier 1)

Sihdrin snorts a bitter laugh. "Funny analogy... perhaps we are just rats in a maze."

He walks over to the satchel and examines the contents carefully.

"How could anyone live in this place? There are no windows to view the open sky," he laments.

(-1 Con -2 Cha from sickness)

"I agree. Perhaps we are in a very big building... or underground..." He walks up to the bed and grabs the blanket. He looks over at the parchment to see if anything is written on it.

Mani walks straight to the bed in the corner and lies back on it. "No, we are in a very large transport of some sort." She wraps herself in the blanket and sits up. "And if everyone on it is as dead as these blokes, we may all be screwed. We need to find the control room or we might just crash and never know what really is happening."

(Male Human Rogue (Acrobat))

Klick takes time searching the desk for anything useful.
(Take 20 for a total of 24)

(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)

Within the satchel Sidhrin finds a matching set of silk pants and a shirt, as well as a set of smallclothes, all neatly folded with meticulous care, but aside from that the bag is empty.

(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)

Searching through the desk and its contents, Klick finds that most of the parchment is blank, with only the topmost having writing on it.

the note:
My Dearest Zelina, I've almost finished my time away and with luck I will return to Sharn within a month of you receiving this letter, with any luck I will be back in time for the Race of Eight Winds, I can't wait to see Danilo compete.

I'm afraid I must keep this short My Love, my work has left me little time to write, but the Sivis messenger arrives on the hour.

Soon to be with you, and always yours...

Frederick

(Male Elf Cavalier 1)

Sihdrin shrugs, takes the clothes out and leaves them on the bed. He tosses the empty satchel over his shoulder.

"Anything in the notes?"

Mani's eyes light up, literally, as she sees Sihdrin toss the silk clothes on the bed. "Don't mind if I do." She says as she slips out of her own clothes and ambles over to the bed. Anyone hoping to catch a peek is disappointed as she let's her womanly features androgynate until she slips into the silk. Once on, her breasts and rear-end plump out and fill in the clothes pleasantly.

(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)

The clothes that Mani slips into are loose fitting and baggy, especially around the shoulders and legs, she realizes they were most like tailored for a man, or possibly an extremely athletic woman.

Waiting on you guys

"Some lover letter from a Fredrick or something like that". "Let's try to find another way to go".

Are there any entrances or doors we have missed? If so I'll take 20 and follow my way back as we go

(-1 Con -2 Cha from sickness)

"Let's keep the love note. It might give us a way to find out what happened to us if we get out of here."

He follows Klick, ready to cover him if needed. "If there is nothing else here, we should head back to the main corridor and continue."

(Male Elf Cavalier 1)

Back to the stairs and down, unless I missed something

DM Rennick wrote:

Mani frowns, then knots the silk shirt up front so it hugs her torso more tightly, and rolls the top of the pants down and knots it as well, baring her midriff. Then she smiles and puts her boots and coat back on and follows Sihdrin down the stairs.

(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)

The stairs down is indeed where to go, onward!

The stairs at the end of the hall lead down to large set of ornate double doors carved from redwood. After making sure they're safe to open (they are) and unlocked (They in fact are not... but Klick makes short work of the lock) the doors swing open.

On the other side is a mammoth Dinning hall that is easily over fifty feet long, the doorway through which you enter being on the left side at the head of the room. At the head of the hall is a raised dias, a long table with chair set on one side to overlook the room.

Four more tables run the length of the room, a number of ornately carved and plush chairs line both sides of the four tables. Huge iron wrought chandiliers hang from the center of the ceiling and on either side drape long white banners that fall from ceiling to floor, each emblazoned with the sword, gear and shield emblem.

The only other door to the room is another set of double doors at the far end of the room.

perception check: 13:
A heavy scraping sound followed by a thump can be heard from the far end. A moment later it happens again. and then again.

(-1 Con -2 Cha from sickness)

Perception: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12

Nik'o moves slowly forward, obviously impressed by the size of the room. "Are you still sure we're in some form of transportation? I mean... Look at this room!"

Still no windows?

(Male Elf Cavalier 1)

Perception 1d20 ⇒ 6 ... oblivious.

"Eventually, we will find out."

Sihdrin continues towards the double doors.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (5) + 5 = 10 three for three hahaha

"I don't know. Maybe I was just a little off balance from being stored in those...things that we fell out of?

(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)

Sihdrin: Your character sheet isn't copied into your profile. This needs to be changed. (This goes for anyone else I haven't noticed this for yet.

Sihdrin's Ref. check 1d20 ⇒ 16

The dice are kind to you this time, :p

Sihdrin approaches the double doors at the end of the hall, his hand slowly resting against the intricately carved wood. Suddenly he hears a loud crash, feels the doors shake and Sihdrin springs back, just in time!

The doors swing open with a thunderous crash! Standing in the doorway is what looks to be a Warforged, Broad shouldered, bulky legs and standing at well over six feet, this is a Waforged that was built for battle. But even though it's eyes still shine a bright green it has obviously seen better days. Large chunks of its steel body has been corroded with rust and decay, to the point that even pieces of its armor have fallen right off, exposing the vinelike piping underneath. In its hands, the construct holds a well crafted, double blade sword, each blade curving wickedly to a side.

Sihdrin:
You don't know from where you recognize it, but you're certain that sword is yours!

initiatives please and declare your actions

(Male Human Rogue (Acrobat))

Klick's head swivels around at the crashing sound. "You should always let me check the doors first...", then he spots the monstrosity.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23 Imitative

1d20 + 10 ⇒ (6) + 10 = 16 Acrobatics.

If necessary Klick will delay till he can see clear to move into a flanking position.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (18) + 4 = 22 Flanking Short Sword Attack
2d6 + 2 ⇒ (1, 4) + 2 = 7 Flanking Damage

(-1 Con -2 Cha from sickness)

Startled, Nik'o gauges his chances against the massive opponent. He notices Klick's movement and tries to coordinate with him.

Initiative: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21

Brandishing his club, Nik'o hopes for a peaceful settlement. "Look, drop your weapon and we'll talk..."

Delay to see if he attacks, then move to flank with Klick if possible, and attack if I have enough move. Club, two-handed: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22; 1d6 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 = 6
So hit AC 24 if I can flank.

(Male Elf Cavalier 1)

Profile updated. You said it was a double-blade, but my captain's weapon was supposed to be a curveblade. Did you change that on purpose?

Initiative:1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9

In a flash of inspiration, Sihdrin sees the tactic play out in his mind's eye. Calling out orders to his companions, he orchestrates their attack. Sihdrin moves to square off against the warforged, hopefully allowing Klick and Nik'o to flank the opponent in a pincer to his left and right.

Using my Tactician ability, giving +1d6 damage against flanked opponents to my allies for 3 rounds. Due to my crappy initiative roll, you all might have to delay... :o)

(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)

See OOC thread

Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9

Mani gasps as the doors crash open. Then smiles as Sihdrin starts barking orders. Then she stands with her arms folded as the boys move into combat.

Readied action to use the Misfortune hex on the warforged if it attacks. It needs to make a Will save DC 14. If it fails, it needs to roll twice and take the worse result.

(Male Human Rogue (Acrobat))

Hey guys. I’ll be able to post (Hopefully) this week, but on a business trip to PR. Don’t let me hold up the game however just GM NPC the characters if you need to move forward before I can post.

(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)

two things, I'm taking Klick's first half of his post (move and acrobatics as a standard) and Nik'o. You're club is an improvised weapon so I'm adding a -4

The Warforged lurches forward, brandishing the longbladed sword and swings clumsily at Klick as the man rolls under the attack. "Unidentifieds... access is not allowed.."

Niko's homemade club slams into the Warforged's side, breaking off a piece of rusted armor and the thing turns and screams at him in a sound that's close to twisting metal.

Mani feels her magic flow from her, but it unable to break the Warforged's mental defenses. Beside her Sihdrin begins to assess the situation and shout commands.

the tactician bonus is now in effect.

(-1 Con -2 Cha from sickness)

Nik'o, as he takes notice of the cavalier's advice, takes another shot at the warforged: "Hey! Put down your weapon and we'll stop beating you up!" He swings right after Klick.

2-handed club, flanking: 1d20 + 3 - 4 + 2 ⇒ (1) + 3 - 4 + 2 = 2; 2d6 + 4 ⇒ (4, 3) + 4 = 11

His aim is completely wide as he misreads the warforged's intention. He sidesteps out, leaving a spot for the cavalier: "By all means, my club is about to die on me!"

(Male Elf Cavalier 1)

"Stop trying to talk to the tinman and kill it!" Sihdrin growls, moving in to strike with his mace.

Attack: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Damage: 1d6 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9; Bonus: 1d6 ⇒ 2

Sihdrin will continue to attack, shifting to maximize flanking positions with Klick and Nik'o.

(wouldn't you like to know! Dungeonisius Masterius Evil Genius/9999999999999999)

The Warforged swings wide at Sihdrin, who dodges the attack with ease as his own strike slams into the rusted side of the construct's head, breaking off another piece of the creature, as he does Nik'o's swing slams into the table beside him with enough force to shatter his makeshift club.

As the Warforged turns back towards Nik'o, seeing an opportunity to strike... Klick takes an opportunity of his own, leaping towards the Warforged from behind, he grabs it by the chin and lifts up, dragging his blade across the Warforged's neck, sending a spray of dark blue liquid spraying out as the thing falls to the ground, dead.

I kid you not, the guy being ghosted rolled a critical hit with confirmation and the sneak atk dmg.

(Male Elf Cavalier 1)

Sihdrin grunts, kicking the warforged corpsed with his toe to check if its still a threat. He wears a slight smile on his face, and the quick battle put a gleam in his eyes. He looks upon his new companions with a bit more respect.

On guard, he will cautiously check what lay behind the door and the warforged.

(-1 Con -2 Cha from sickness)

Nik'o quickly grabs a chair and looks beyond the incapacitated warforged to see if more are coming from the next room.

(Male Human Rogue (Acrobat))

Klick takes a moment, and stares at the sword in his hands in disbelief. "This sword must be enhanced somehow to destroy automations, and warforged". "That is useful information indeed".

He then searches the warforged for anything of interest before following the others into the room.

1d20 + 4 ⇒ (10) + 4 = 14 Perception

Great rolling by the way. I should be AFTK more often

"This thing looks like it wasn't taken care of well. Yet the bodies are fresh. I wonder what is happening here." Mani states as she wanders past the warforged and looks around the next room.

Perception 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 24

(-1 Con -2 Cha from sickness)

"Maybe that thing was kept in a vat, like us, and that's how it survived whatever killed the people here..."
