OK, I would some one to summarize what you are doing.

Things like: Yellow robes or no yellow robes. Weapons in hand or slung.

Any other preparations?

No yellow robes, weapons ready but not necessarily threatening...

Weapons ready but not in battle position. Normal clothing.

You push open the doors and walk a bit forward into the next room to the north.

It is as described - a few rough lean - to's, sleeping areas, and areas to sit - all jumbled up.

Someone notices you right away and shouts Hey!

A small crowd gathers, fingers close to weapons (which are all clubs or knives or similar small hand weapons), murmuring and muttering.

You do notice that these do not look like glassy eyed cultists, or warrior brutes - more like normal (albeit crazy) people in a difficult situation.

What do you say?

The crowd looks a bit nonplussed at the comments of the party. While they are processing the information, the man in the doctor coat comes forward, his arms spread wide.

Good! More come to gaze beyond, to serve the orpiment! Welcome, Friends! his voice booms loudly.

He approaches, his arms still spread wide, and then, in a loud stage whisper Nod, and follow me, if you want to live. No talking. He steps backwards, in the direction of a corner of the room that is "walled off" with curtains.

Wren claps his hands together and sighs. Thank goodness. I am not supposed to say things like this here, but I think these people are nuts

He looks at the Professor I am a doctor who studies and treats diseases of the brain and psyche. I have a practice in Ardis; I am here as a sort of traveling physician. I took a sabbatical to learn from the skilled doctors at this facility. Alas, I only arrived a few days ago, and I do not know if you are patients or staff here He looks with sympathy at Trevor. I do understand that not knowing is hard

He then turns to address Jean-Phillipe. I am concerned, my dear sir, that we are surrounded in an isolated facility occupied by lunatic cultists who, mere days or hours ago, were unstable mental patients.

(I did neglect to mention that the crucified folk had bags over their heads)

Feel free to ask any questions you may have. I am having some issues connecting to the Paizo site so I may not post again tonight..

Lucius breathed out a sigh of relief, "This is the best news yet, even if you don't who we were. I am a professor and taught at Lepidstadt but I'm not sure."

He added, "Ok, so you know a way out of here? Why do the lunatics respect you?"

male Human? pbp GM / 1 current map ; second floor

Ulver Zandalus is the leader of the cult, and the one responsible for all of this. I hear he was just a quiet artist who had bad dreams. I don't know how else to explain it, but something let his dreams loose. He convinced a bunch of patients that he's some sort of prophet and that he can lead them to the land of dreams. That was enough to start the riot. Soon after, those strange mists rose outside and an earthquake caused much of the asylum to fall apart.

They wear yellow robes in deference to .... something. Something in the land of dreams, I suppose. Some of the cultists have fully bought into his creed that dreams are prophecies, and sources of power. But most are simply scared former patients in need of mental help.

I am only here, I suspect, because I possess some physical healing skills as well as those associated with mental processes. Somehow, when the dreams came out, many monsters were spawned, and I am necessary to treat their wounded.

As far as a way out....I don't know of one. I am nearly at my wits end. We are running out of supplies - food and medicine. The fog swirls endlessly. Zandulus has found some way to breach the border between wakefullness and dreaming. The fog is the result; some sort of spillover from whatever dream world he is tied into. But the fog itself is not the problem. It is the things that came along with it. Weird things, like nightmares. The worst seem content to stay in the fog, but I've seen strange forms slip into the asylum - figures I cannot rightly describe. But it is death to try to escape through the fog. I am not sure that way even leads to Ustalav anymore....it may just lead into the Dreamlands.

CG Male Human Investigator (Questioner) 3 | HP 27/27 | AC 16 (12 Touch, 14 Flat-Footed) | CMB +3, CMD 15 | Fort. +4, Ref. +5, Will +5 | Init. +2 | Perc. +7, Sense Motive +5 | Speed 30ft |

"Huh,", Lucius commits the information to memory and starts processing what he could. "There's another camp with survivors, the sane kind, but they're also running low on supplies."

He shrugs, "It sounds like this Zandalus is our next logical choice to try and piece together enough information to get out of here. So where's this Zandalus now? Is it safe to talk to him?"

male Human? pbp GM / 1 current map ; second floor

Zandalus and his followers keep to what is left of the halls upstairs. No one is allowed up there, though. Zandalus' thugs stand guard, but worse - that weird mist collects up there like a snake in a hole. Who knows what they do in that fog? But we all hear the chanting and the screaming .... even though we try not to.

The stairs next to the "hospital" visible on the map lead upstairs. There is another set of stairs to a tower west of here.
I don't know if both lead to Zandalus or only one does.

Besides the tower what lies west? Do you know if there are hostile creatures there?

There are probably several dozen cultists here. Some men, some women. Some, like Bag Lady Loomis, are extremely dangerous.

There are stairs here that lead up, and there are stairs to the west that lead up. I am not sure which one leads to Zandalus

There are a lot of questions, and I have missed answering one already, so yell if I missed a question

Wren looks terrified at the thought of leaving the area (in regard to Lucius's question) I am NOT going to try and guide you. I will almost certainly end up crucified. You have the same chance, you know? He seems a bit cowardly, and totally miserable.

Nor does Wren know of anyone he trusts to send with you. They are all cultists, and likely insane to boot, so not all that high on the trustworthy scale. He has also not explored much since the earthquake, because he was quickly captured by the yellow robes, and has been doing his doctor thing ever since.

You realize that looking at the map that you cannot get there from the south. There was rubble there (you recall this from when you first came up from the downstairs cells).

You CAN go across the northern courtyard. There is a door from the big camp room, or you remember several windows, some in Dr. Losandro's office.
