ROW Book 5 ROW On going: DT Everywhere! No charge, no 5 ft step.| Loot sheet

Emboldened by its comrades's success the ceustodaemon on the right flies backwards and attempts to replicate the same trick on Hirah.

Bescaylie and Efrixes take offence to that.

Bescaylie aoo: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37

Efrixes AOO: 1d20 + 15 ⇒ (9) + 15 = 24

Bescsylie confirm: 1d20 + 17 ⇒ (20) + 17 = 37
dmg: 2d8 + 16 ⇒ (5, 7) + 16 = 28

Between them, they manage to slay the daemon, stabbing it in its dark heart.

You really sure you want to do that? I mean the smite is fine, but maybe you'd like to save your standard action for something else? I'll tell you even without divine favour, all attacks will hit, and you'll finish the job.

I can't Breath of Life him - he didn't die due to hit point damage; he died due to a failed Fort save Vs. Coup de Grace (I did a messageboards search to be sure that it didn't work)...

I'd say you can. There are threads saying it'll work, and I go with those.

(I did see that thread.) Fine. I can go with that, but I will point out that it is *not* RAW, which is why I did not assume that it worked. That said, if this now means that coup-de-grace and Phantasmal Killer can now be fixed by Breath of Life in your games, I am okay with it :-)

Crummock frantically directs Greta to bring Einar's corpse to him, at which point, he casts Breath of Life...

@Einar: According to the threads that Mort is referring to, you start at -Con hit points before Breath of Life (unless you would have been at a lower hit point total), which means that you are now at +17 hit points.

Crummock gently smacks Einar across the back of his scalp.

"Chi ddim yn marw - yr wyf yn ei dynnu yn ôl oddi wrth eich taith i'r Boneyard."

Aklo:
"You did die - I pulled you back from your journey to the Boneyard."

He does, however, look extremely relieved that the spell worked.

Interestingly, that is also one way to get the Charm effect to end - he wasn't a valid target for the few seconds that he was dead, after all... (It would also, technically, mean that any buffs running on him ended, but I don't think there was anything running at the time...)

10 min later, the ice slicked walls of Spurhorn comes into view. There are dragons and drakes all over the place, trying to vie for aerial dominance. The air is clouded with smoke and mist from the various breath weapons, and througout the clouds flashes of light emerge as powerful magics are used by both sides, Bescaylie regretfully informs the party she will leave to join her troop, and Commander Pharamol will command the party from here.

The party hears a telepathic voice in their heads, introducing himself as Commander Pharamol and urges the party to go to the rescue of some Triaxians who were trying to pull back ballistas and siege engines to the safety of the walls, but got ambushed by the Drakeland Legions.

A 20-foot-radius area on the western side of the bastion around the siege engines is slippery with ice from the drake’s breath, and is considered difficult terrain for 4 rounds.

Sorry, had to work from 8AM-6PM so I'm extremely shattered right now. Anyway, quick point GM, since the fluff doesn't make a mention of it. My preferred option is to summon a Large Air Elemental, which whirlwinds the Barbarians up, and then drops them from a height (and ideally off the wall) but this fails if they have flight spells. If Barbarian's have flight of their own, then I'll summon my tiger army again and go into full slaughter mode.

ROW Book 5 ROW On going: DT Everywhere! No charge, no 5 ft step.| Loot sheet

You won't know if they have flight or not until you start whirlwinding. It's not as if you have something like, greater arcane sight to tell you what buffs people have on. The height you'll drop them off is the height your elemental can bring them to. Which will be 100 ft - since it's a standard action to activate whirlwind, so you only have a move action left on your round. Unless you want to maintain whirlwind for multiple rounds. I also wish to see the DC 20 fly check for the following: Fly up at a greater than 45° angle. Since you're literally flying vertically up. Not hard though, a medium air elemental has + 17 to fly skill. Should the elemental you summon have more then +19 to fly skill, then just ignore the part on the DC 20 fly check.
