yuck, I'm off sunday and Monday, so I will be sleeping soon. If combat continues please bot Einar, he will continue trying to exit, then will use the Sword of Planes to attack the demon, if possible, if not then one of the vamps.

probably should have cast earth glide and come up under the demon instead of fighting the wood...on well,

ok, dumb question, how do they not do full damage? They do B,P and S, he's wearing a body wrap of mighty strike, so there magical and his bloodline power makes then good attacks...

Crummock's FOM saved Dimitri from a telekinetic grapple. Since flat-footed affects CMD too.

The candles were one of the reasons why I didn't care for you guys blowing things up. It'd end up with me using the gate function, and you'd end up without loot. Both parties would get unhappy at the end of the day.

I'd get some practical experience at what outsiders are good to summon, but that's not really the point.

Well, I have healed them a bit, and they seem safe enough for the moment; after all, we dusted the ones that were (presumably) feeding on them.

I say we press on, deal with Rasputin, then bring them back to the Hut for convalescence.

Im beginning to wonder if shadow evocation (fireball) was a good idea...so many saves to roll :(

You get to decide if the heroism and such are there, and then let me know if I am still under a Fear effect.

Are your saves factored in your header with heroism on? I thought they were as +14, +12, + 15 with heroism?

I know Einar's are not factored in, so I factor it in for him.

Yeah, they are and I missed the fact that I already had it active.

I was composing while I had a different window open to update spells used. When looking at that window, I can't see all the active conditions.

@ Mister Whiskers or Crummock, I'm still trying to figure out what is important, is stopping the machine a priority?

Einars Burglar Bracer's would let him take 10 which would be the 40.

You don't need feather step slippers. Your fly is still on. Your freedom of movement is still on too - so you don't need an unfettered shirt.

Viktor is down, only you and Dimitri fought off the fear successfully. Everyone and their dog is running for the hills. Also urm. I think Crummock dropped a rock, so there's a 20 ft area of silence all around him. >.<

and Greta dragged off Dimitri so everyone is out of the room except Einar and Victor? Did the bad guys attack during the round Einar was stunned. Are we waiting a round or can Einar grab victor and run?

sorry about the delay, I was taking my wife home from an appointment, So Einar and Crummock are in the room, I assume since they were stunned, that now they aren't and are just staggered.

@ Team, I'm planning on retreating, is that ok? Will Crummock and Geist be able to get out? Do we need Victors body?

edit: for some reason I though Crummock was frightened...

Can't dimension door, the forbiddence prevents it.

Having flown two rounds and (as far as I know) still panicked, I don't think I'm part of this combat anyways.

Once you're right out of the chapel you can teleport. The forbiddance is only for whats warded in the doors.

The force field unfortunately works like a clingwrap.

Basically you can damage the world engine partially from H6. And there will be some detrimental effects to Rasputin if you do so.

H7 is where you need to be to complete the destruction of the world engine. Unfortunately down there you will be subject to its energy pulse (as per prismatic spray).

Getting to the final tower hmm. There is a stairway up from H7.

Forbiddance does not prevent Gate...

You do have the tools that you need to kill him. Like you can literally get any spell in the world for scribing.

Or if you want to sneaky sneaky, you could always earth glide to H7 and either run up the stairs into the tower, or start blowing stuff from behind him. Of course it'll piss him off(not that he isn't pissed already) but...well - that's your choice.

If you really run out of inspiration - there's always 3 chaotic evil candles of invocation lol. That's enough to blow things up to kingdom come...

This fight is also gets the reputation of being the most WTF fight in ROW. I don't think Book 6 has anything like THAT. The final fight of the AP, according to those who played through it - is remarkably tame...

Crummock's comment about the spells the shadows used triggered a question.

Shadow Conjuration says:
"You use material from the Plane of Shadow to shape quasi-real illusions "

Forbiddance says:
"Forbiddance seals an area against all planar travel into or within it. This includes all teleportation spells (such as dimension door and teleport), plane shifting, astral travel, ethereal travel, and all summoning spells. Such effects simply fail automatically."

So if the area is sealed, how are they getting material from the plane of shadow?

Hmm. I'd say creatures cannot go in and out of it - but that doesn't say anything about matter itself.

But technically from a RAW read of shadow conjuration - it does not have the (summoning) spell descriptor, having the (illusion) spell descriptor instead, so it does not violate the (no summoning spells) clause of forbiddance. And there's no issue with casting conjuration spells in an area of forbiddance, you just cant use anything with (summoning)/(teleportation) descriptor.

I agree its a really weird kind of thing.

Crummock: Re Spell immunity on shadow evocation - this seems to indicate that shadow evocation is a 5th level spell.

This too.

The saves are for a 5th level spell, spell immunity is for 4th and below...

Alright then, I'll still keep the other two (Fear and Shadow Conjuration), but will take Confusion as the last spell to be immune to.

If Mr Whiskers can see his way to covering the party with spell-tinkered Protection From Evil, Communal (giving each of us about three minutes of protection), that would be helpful, too!

The problem with Magic Circle, is that we have to stick together... if we each have it, we can get away with moving apart.

BTW you guys lost some gear when you went running out like that. Crummock lost his Mw starknife and Dimitri lost Maggie. When you're stunned you drop everything held. Einar - his frost thunder hammer if he was wielding it.

You've got lots of other guns but just make the necessary adjustments for the combat.

Einar hadn't drawn a weapon yet, he was trying to figure out which one was going to be the most effective. interestingly enough it took me a little while to realize the 'ghost touched' blade would be more effective than the 'sword of planes'
