Stabbing at the nearest icy foe, Ruso is dismayed when his rapier point cannot penetrate the ice hardness of the elemental. The point of his thrust is just turned aside by the hard outer shell.

Irina continues to spread her curses around, this time targeting Red Elemental. Her witchery continues to affect the ability of the elementals to attack.

From the bank, Skyne moves to line up a better shot, but he inadvertently forgets about the snowman. And as he steps down, a sound like a thunderclap bursts from the snowy figure. The excruitatingly loud sound causes Peltra to drop her weapon and clap her hands over her hears in pain. Skyne also feels the teeth-rattling sound.

Skyne needs a DC 18 Fort save to avoid being stunned. He takes 6hp dmg from Sound Burst.

Braving the maneuver to stand on the ice with a foe within reach, Jack grimaces expecting a blow, but instead he feels a breeze as the icy limb swings just over his head, missing. Returning the favor, Jack hacks into the elemental nearest him, chipping off a big chunk, but not dissipating the foe just yet.

Wulfgang swings at the foe that just struck him, but the ice deflects this blow harmlessly.

After turning aside the point of Ruso's rapier, Blue Elemental closes on the elf trying to grab him, but the rogue is too quick and dodges just out of the way, poking at the icy form as he does so.

This maneuver provokes and AoO from Ruso even though it failed. Peltra is stunned, so the round ends.

Red Elemental swings again at Wulfgang, it's mighty appendages slowed by Irina's witchcraft. Unfortunately, the elemental overcomes the hex and lands a mighty blow that bashes the viking warrior hard in the face. With a crack of breaking teeth, Wulfgang collapses in the snow on the bank, knocked cold and bleeding from the blow.

Yellow takes another harmless swing at Jack and then falls back 5' trying to get out of the way of the longsword that keeps striking it.

Confirmed crit on Wulfgang despite Evil Eye, 13 dmg, takes him to -10 and unconscious. All the party is up, Ruso still has an AoO and Skyne still needs a DC 18 Fort save or be stunned this round.

Ruso's stab at the grappling elemental fails to connect, even though he does manage to elude its icy grasp.

Irina turns her Evil Eye back on Yellow Elemental, and again the hex successfully debuffs the foe, making him more susceptible to enemy attacks.

Still stunned by the sound burst, Skyne can only stand in amazement as blood trickles from his damaged ears.

Jack slides after the retreating elemental, but his foot slips at an inopportune moment, and the attacks misses.

Lying on the snow bank, Wulfgang's injured body is able to staunch anymore bloodflow.

Ruso posted his AoO from last round, but we need his action for Round 3 as well.

Icy Crossing - Round 3 - concluded

Ruso continues to pester the ice monster near him, but cannot land a telling blow no matter how he tries.

The icy foe swings a heavy appendage at the elf rogue, slamming into him hard. The cold touch of the creature seems to immediately run into Ruso's bones, giving him the shivers.

Recovering quickly from the sound explosion that had her stunned, Peltra sees her fallen ally lying nearby. Stepping through the heavy snow, Peltra bends down, touching the wounded Wulfgang with a curative spell.

Ruso is hit for 4 normal and 1 cold damage. He also needs a DC 12 Fort save or be staggered for 1 round. Wulfgang returns 6 hp, which still leaves him unconscious at -4.

Leaving the unconscious form of Wulfgang for the moment, Red elemental slides onto the snowy bank and swings at Peltra, slamming her and bloodying her nose. She manages to avoid the bone-chilling cold however.

Yellow elemental swings at Jack, but is more intent on slipping away and misses him badly.

Peltra takes 4hp dmg but makes save. The rest of the party is up again vs the foes. Ruso needs DC 12 Fort or be staggered from prior round attack.

Blue swings at Ruso once again, but the witch hex slows the attack so much that the elf easily avoids it. After unsuccessfully swinging, Blue steps back from Ruso by 5'.

Icy Crossing - Round 5 - concluded

Ruso makes the DC10 Acrobatics check to move full speed across the ice without falling. Moved you to flanking position with Peltra.

Gliding across the ice effortlessly, Ruso slides in behind Red Elemental which has its attention focused on Peltra.

Withdrawing the healing wand given by the village hedge witch, Irina moves closer to the fallen Wulfgang, hoping to get him back in the fight soon.

Still sniping from the bank, Skyne's crossbow bolts continue to fly wide of the mark.

Moving slowly and carefully across the icy expanse, Jack gets himself in position to fight against Blue elemental, readying his cold-iron sword.

Blue Elemental takes a swing of one of its icy appendages at the oncoming ranger. The blow hits hard into Jack, but his northern blood prevents the cold touch from affecting him as badly as it might the others. Still the numbing cold seems to spread through his system, slowing him a bit.

Peltra continues to swing at Red elemental, trying to keep it from finishing off Wulfgang but her swings are purely defensive and cannot harm the icy foe.

Jack is hit for 5 normal and 3 cold damage, but his Cold Resistane negates the 3. He takes 5hp Dmg, and needs a DC 12 Fort vs cold or be staggered for one round.

Red Elemental senses the elf nearby but pummels at Peltra instead mashing her hard upside the head. The combination of the cold and the force behind the blow is too much, and Peltra succumbs, falling to the rocky bank unconscious.

Peltra falls to -1hp and drops. Rest of the party is up now. Need DC 12 Fort from Jack from hit last round.

Icy Crossing - Round 6 - concluded

Ruso slides to a stop behind Red Elemental and tries to plunge his rapier through the foe, but its icy hide turns the point aside harmlessly.

Irina cringes as Peltra falls, fearing she is the next target of the fearsome elemental. She kneels and uses the healing wand on Wulfgang, which restores him, but not enough to return him to consciousness.

Skyne continues to fire crossbow bolts at the elementals ineffectually. This time he comes near hitting one for hte first time.

Jack steps forward continuing to engage Blue elemental, but his sword stroke misses the gliding foe.

Blue Elemental again finds the mark against Jack, hitting him hard again. The cold damage that is hurting the others doesn't seem to bother the northman, but the pain is still the same.

Lying still on the frozen round, Peltra's wounds staunch, and blood no longer flows from them.

[ooc]Jack is hit again for 4 hp dmg and does not take the cold damage due to his resistance.

Icy Crossing - Round 7 - continued

Ruso continues to press the attack against the Red elemental, but he fails to do any measurable damage, even if he does succeed in distracting the planar foe from Irina and her healing magic.

Continuing to use the wand of healing, Irina touches the prostrate Wulfgang with it once again, this time the viking warrior recovers from his fell wounds, stretching and rubbing his eyes.

Skyne yells in triumph as one of his shots finally scores a hit, chipping a small amount of ice from Blue's thick outer coating.

Despite his own wounds, Jack continues to press the attack on Blue cutting another hunk out of the elemental foe.

Wulfgang recovers 5 more hp, moving him to 4/12, which is enough for him to be back in the action. He can take a turn before this round ends. He is prone with no weapon in hand.

Icy Crossing - Round 7 - concluded

Waking from his dreams of spending time with his ancestors in the halls of champions, Wulfgang sees the fight is not over. Reaching, he grasps the haft of his axe and swings at the icy form before him even from his prone position but he can't get enough strength behind the axe stroke to score a hit.

Blue elemental swings at Jack once more, banging him once again. The icy touch doesn't bother the ranger, but his vitality is starting to slip given all the hits he's taken.

Jack takes 3 hp dmg, and is down to 1hp remaining. Round 7 over.

Stepping away from the axe-wielding viking, and concentrating on the elf in front of it, Red elemental's slam attack misses everything.

This means the whole group is up once again.

Ruso is able to skewer the red elemental drawing the first damage against that foe, his rapier breaking off a chunk of ice from the main form.

Crawling crab-like over the fallen form of Peltra, Irina uses the curative wand once again, the healing magic providing enough regeneration to restore the oracle to consciousness.

Skyne continues his sharp-shooting, caroming a crossbow bolt off Red elemetal, chipping off a bit more of its structure.

Jack's attack misses, his blood loss apparently slowing down his combat skills.

Pending an action from Wulfgang still. Will run him if no action later tonight. Looks like starting to chip away at them, literally.

Wulfgang plows forward and delivers a crushing blow to the elemental that was also stuck by Ruso's rapier and Skyne's bolt. The great weapon destroys what was left of the elemental sending shards of ice skidding across the frozen surface of the creek.

Taking one more swing at Jack, Blue Elemental misses high roaring a challenge at the party as it is now defending the creek alone.

Brought back to the fight by the magic curing wand, Peltra grabs her mace and rises to her feet, ready to press the attack once again.

With another elemental out of the fight, all the party is up to start Round 9. Remember that the creek acts as an ice sheet. Each square costs double movement. Running or charging through those squares requires a DC 10 Acrobatics check or fall.
