Goldus:
A while ago, I came across some rules for a Pathfinder-compatible Epic level guide. Demons have resistances to everything except sonics. So, researching sonic-based offensive spells are a good thing. The epic part of that spell in your dream? No damage cap. That's right, 21d6 or more Sonic damage. :)

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Aeden rejoins her fellows the next morning, freshly scrubbed (a bit unexpected for a half-orc, but she seems to be full of surprises).

"We need to go pick up the supplies that Lord Feather mentioned," she says as she joins the team for the morning meal. "Then... I suppose it's the road for us."

Male Human Magus - 1

"Good morning, all. I had the strangest dream last night." Jared says as he joins the group for breakfast.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"You two? Sounds like all of us had a little dream-dust. I had a pleasant dream, myself," says Aeden.

Male Human Magus - 1

"I saw myself at the head of a huge army of mounted Magi. My Standard-bearer held a flag that had an Eight-pointed Star above a sword crossed with a lightning bolt. We were charging Goblins and ... I want to say Demons, but I'm not sure."

M halfling Unchained Rogue7/Wizard 3/Arcane Trickster 4 HP: 61/61 | AC: 26/22, 17, 15 | CMB: 4, CMD: 10 | F: +8 R: +13, W: +7 | Init: +12 | Perc: +12 |

At least we were doing good things and not bad things, the halfling reasons.

I'll come up with a list of available supplies soon. Laptop running a butt-slow virus scan right now. Working off a tablet.

Male Gnome Silksworn Occultist 1 | HP: 12/12 | AC: 12, 12, 11 | CMB: -3, CMD: 8 | F: +3, R: +1, W: +1 | Init: +1 | Perc: +3 | Go to Sheet.

Goldus waddled down the stairs to join his comrades, trying to eavesdrop on there conversation.

I had quite a delightful dream myself, had a wonderful library, no Demons though I’m afraid. Not that I’m particularly keen to dream about demons.
So what do we leave?

Asked Goldus rather excitedly.

M halfling Unchained Rogue7/Wizard 3/Arcane Trickster 4 HP: 61/61 | AC: 26/22, 17, 15 | CMB: 4, CMD: 10 | F: +8 R: +13, W: +7 | Init: +12 | Perc: +12 |

We just need stuff for the trip, then off we go!

Male Gnome Silksworn Occultist 1 | HP: 12/12 | AC: 12, 12, 11 | CMB: -3, CMD: 8 | F: +3, R: +1, W: +1 | Init: +1 | Perc: +3 | Go to Sheet.

Goldus begins nibbling on a piece of bread, and what exactly constitutes the necessary essentials for a Goblin hunting expedition? I confess this isn’t really my area of expertise.

M halfling Unchained Rogue7/Wizard 3/Arcane Trickster 4 HP: 61/61 | AC: 26/22, 17, 15 | CMB: 4, CMD: 10 | F: +8 R: +13, W: +7 | Init: +12 | Perc: +12 |

Flouncy scratches his head. Food, maybe? Bedrolls, tents. That sort of thing? I brought a shovel... Ale... We need to bring ale.

So, the party is given 150 Trail Rations, 30 days each for 5 party members. The party has a budget of 750 Gp of Non-magic Items only. Discuss the purchase list on the discussion thread, and post the results here. I'll copy and paste this list onto a text file, and help the party keep track of items. I suggest spending all 750. Fill the list out with ammunition if you need to.

Flouncy will get a donkey to carry the load, if we can find one.

gather info: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (7) + 5 = 12

I'll allow it. Deduct the cost from the total given above.

Dex is quiet in the afternoon and the morning as he and his new found allies gather goods for this "quest".

He remains quiet as the others talk of their dreams. He does look thoughtful though.

"Aye, a donkey is a wise idea, no need to tire ourselves out. We'll need to cover our tracks though, we want to be the hunters not the hunted".

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

A rather scruffy bulky looking human in scale mail, with his wavy brown hair unkempt, clad in scale mail and smelling none too good, clankers his way down the street.”A guy called Aeden told me you guys might need some help with hunting goblins. I’m a fair hand at tracking. I could help, if you give me my fair share of the promised rewards. More people makes for easier hunting trips.” He answers gruffly. ”My name is Tassadar.”

Male Human Magus - 1

"Yes, Thank you." says Jared. "We were wondering how we were going to find them without a tracker."

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

'Hmm,does that mean I could push for double shares?' Tassadar thinks to himself, then decides not to press his luck.

"Well, there's always getting a hunting hound. Bloody persistent buggers." Tassadar swears, "The last time I was hunting some nice deer on some too stuffy lord's land, he sent his hounds after me. I had to cross and stream to lose them. Heck, I still have bite marks to show for it."Tassadar rolls up his pants to show a rather unattractive, hairy shin, with bite scars on it.

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

"Anyway, the day is not getting any younger. The sooner we get moving, the sooner we'll be done. Where was it you last saw those goblins?"Tassadar asks the party.

Once being told on where the goblins/their tracks are, he starts leading the party to them/tracking them.

Take 10 for 14 survival, if required.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"Ah, we fought off a group that attacked the town here, but our information indicates that they are part of a tribe that lives several days' travel north of here. Lord Feather funded an expedition so that we could head into the wild to try to find them and put an end to their constant raids," says Aeden.

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

”How many days travel north of here? We should provision adequately in case we can’t find anything to eat in the wilds.”He then ensures that the party is adequately provisioned for the trip, while buying a suit of leather armor to sleep in at night. ”Can any of you create water? If not – we’ll need to bring sufficient water as well.”

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"We've already laid in provisions. We have two pack donkeys and a large quantity of gear for survival and exploration."

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

"Let's move then."

Given that it rained recently, the Goblin Dog tracks are easy to track in the mud. Tassadar's 14 succeeds.

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

"There, there and there."Tassadar points out the tracks. "Keep moving, we've got critters to catch."Tassadar urges the group as he leads the way with his glaive pointed.

Note I have combat reflexes and threaten both at 5ft and 10ft

Tassadar: Put your Combat reflexes under Class Features. This will help me remember things. I am 50, after all.

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

Like this?

It'll do for now. Don't forget that you'll get more class features as you gain levels. I'm not sure they'll all fit in that edit box. We'll hammer it out later.

M halfling Unchained Rogue7/Wizard 3/Arcane Trickster 4 HP: 61/61 | AC: 26/22, 17, 15 | CMB: 4, CMD: 10 | F: +8 R: +13, W: +7 | Init: +12 | Perc: +12 |

Flouncy takes one of the donkeys and leads it down the trail.

C'mon, Daisy. Let's go for a nice long walk.

So, I assume that Tassadar is point, following the tracks, with the rest of the party following.

Male Human Magus - 1

Jared adjusts his pack and follows Flouncy, using his Quarterstaff as a Walking Stick.

Male Gnome Silksworn Occultist 1 | HP: 12/12 | AC: 12, 12, 11 | CMB: -3, CMD: 8 | F: +3, R: +1, W: +1 | Init: +1 | Perc: +3 | Go to Sheet.

Oh good, a tracker, how exciting! Goldus watches what Tassadar is doing intently, he would have had to stoop, were he not so short. Goldus was wondering if perhaps he might pick up some of the what his mother would have called more “earthy” skills. He did rather hope he wouldn’t pick up the scent along with it.

I can manage a little bit of water should the need arise

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Aeden takes the reins of the donkeys and leads the stubborn animals along behind the party.

"This is going to be a long trip."

Tassadar. Roll Survival for Tracking 12 times, DC10. No taking ten because the party is moving away from the town. Each failure takes two hours, one hour to backtrack, find the tracks again, and move on to the next check. Four failures in a row indicate that the trail has gone cold.

Rest periods for the party take one hour for meals and other activities and occur every four hours.

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (15) + 4 = 19

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (19) + 4 = 23

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12

Tassadar loses the trail once, and when he finds out that he has lost the trail, starts swearing violently. He then backtracks to pick up the trail again, but more or less manages to get the party moving in the right direction.

That's only ten times. Give me Two more, please.

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

Survival: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5

And then he loses the trail again, and begins to swear that the goblin dogs had hamsters for fathers and their mothers smell of elderberries.

Laughs at the Monty Python reference.

It is now getting dark. Let me know the watch shift. Jared will post a watch with Goldus, since Jared is sort of a Martial character.

Male Gnome Silksworn Occultist 1 | HP: 12/12 | AC: 12, 12, 11 | CMB: -3, CMD: 8 | F: +3, R: +1, W: +1 | Init: +1 | Perc: +3 | Go to Sheet.

I need my 8 hours of- Goldus paused, he sensed adventurers probably didn't get beauty rest ...sleep...to errm gather my powers to there fullest, so if at all possible I'd like to take first or last watch

Goldus patted himself on the back internally. Embarrassment avoided.

Male Human Magus - 1

"First watch it is, then." Jared says as he begins to pitch his tent.

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

Tassadar does his night watch in his scale mail, but changes into his leather armor to sleep in.

Tassadar, Dexter will stand watch with you. Leaving Aeden and Flouncy for the last watch if that's alright with everyone.

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

I'm cool. I has dimdweller trait for dark vision. If it's not allowed, then can I retcon buying torches?

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

"I can take a middle shift," says Aeden. "I can see in the dark and I can survive some split sleep."

As a cleric I don't necessarily need eight hours of unbroken sleep, I just need to be able to pray in the morning, and I have darkvision from being a half-orc.

Dimdweller is fine, but there will be a campfire. Part of standing watch is to make sure that the fire doesn't get out of hand. If you're okay by yourself, Dexter will do something else important. (He's currently botted)

M Male N Ranger | HP 12/12| AC: 17 (12 Tch, 15 Fl) | CMB: +5, CMD: 17 | F:+ 3, R: +4, W: +1; | Init: +4 | Perc: +4, SM: +0 | Speed 20ft | Combat Reflexes (3 AOOs/round, threaten at both 5ft and 10 ft)

More eyes on watch is always cool. At least he gets to hear me grouse.

Hours 1-4 are Jared and Goldus.
Hours 5-8 are Tassadar and Aeden.
Hours 9-12 are Dexter and Flouncy.

Hour 1: 1d100 ⇒ 48
Hour 2: 1d100 ⇒ 27
Hour 3: 1d100 ⇒ 61
Hour 4: 1d100 ⇒ 13
Hour 5: 1d100 ⇒ 9
Hour 6: 1d100 ⇒ 33
Hour 7: 1d100 ⇒ 11
Hour 8: 1d100 ⇒ 55
Hour 9: 1d100 ⇒ 58
Hour 10: 1d100 ⇒ 93

Tassadar and Aeden, Roll Perception.

perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (12) + 4 = 16

"So how much is Lord Feather paying us all for this, anyway?" Tassadar asks Aeden to pass time as he watches.

INACTIVE - GAME DIED

Perception: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (17) + 4 = 21

"I get the impression that depends on how pressing the goblin threat actually turns out to be," says Aeden as she scans the darkness slowly.
