Here in the USA, colleges are starting up their semesters right about now, the Super Bowl is about to take place, and I imagine a lot of people are dealing with winter snow storms, so if there is a slow down for the next couple of weeks, I understand.
Just remember, barring some unforeseen catastrophe, I’m not going away anytime soon (in fact for the next three days I am attacking CC3+ with more effort and am going to try to finally learn how to make a good map, wish me luck, I am old, and grumpy, but darn it, I want to be able to take all my old hand drawn maps and turn them into something I’d be proud to show my players).

I'm not sure Asbques is going to be able to rejoin us. I have enjoyed everything all of you have done to make this a fun game.
Please tell me if you are willing to keep going, even if it is at a slow pace.
The encounter that is about to happen will use our comeliness abilities and percentage die rolls, and if we can get through that I really would like to get us to the principal's mansion as soon as possible.

This is going out to all the games that I'm in currently:
So my work has me working 50-60 hours a week to keep up with all the work that I have been assigned, and this is probably going to persist for the next 3-6 months, until the end of our busy season. That being the case, I'm going to have to drop out of my current play-by-post commitments. I apologize if this inconveniences anyone, it was clearly not something that I was expecting to have happen, but I ultimately have to face facts.
Again, I apologize if this is a burden on anyone else.

I will post an update today
First, THANK YOU to Stella, you've put up with this with dignity and grace and have been a joy to play with
I don't know what has become of Manny, but a PM will go out to him today.
I do not intend to close the game unless all the players decide to leave the game on their own. I don't think recruitment is an option (as it would take away from the premise).
I only wish I could have been better at keeping interest in the setting.

Stella - as to your in game ooc question
No, I assumed we were still waiting to hear from her, but that as long as you were here, your sister would be with you. I know Aureth has left the game, but it isn't a good time to write him out of the story, so I wanted it clear he was still around, and Manny, well, let's hope he is still checking this thread.
I would run this game for only you, if you were still interested, and I cannot thank you enough for the patience you have shown me.
Stella Lucem Caelum |
I would happily keep playing. I enjoyed the character creation and the concept of where this goes.
Maybe we can grow it into the story you want to have fore the city.

I hope that those who celebrate the holiday have a wonderful Easter or Passover, me not so much of a Christian or Jew (more like a non robe wearing Buddhist), but today I get to assemble a new swing set for my Grand Daughter. I think I need some kind of wrench or something I tried rolling to make it happen, but eh?
Generic Dungeon Master |
Any word on the return of Asbques?
Game update should be posted this weekend.
Generic Dungeon Master |
Well, Stella it looks like it’s just you and me. If there were going to be any actual encounters where combat was going to be involved, I’d need to create a couple more NPCs to join you, or make sure that for whatever reason, you only run into very small numbers of enemies. Oscar can help with combat, but not much more than that.
I really don’t know what to do with this adventure other than scrap all my notes, and try to think of something new

For what it's worth, and I know I've said before how I do not like talking about real life problems of mine in the threads, I am up, and improving (on the sixth round of anti-biotics this summer). With the doctor treating me now saying, "hmmm, maybe it isn't an infection, hey I know let's schedule a cat scan" so, even though I am up, I am not at my best but I am trying to update games.
Stella Lucem Caelum |
Hi! Okay I just realized I never chose languages. Updated them in the language spot. Are any of those what he speaks? If not that's okay. After your answer I will post!
Generic Dungeon Master |
Okay - so here it is. I will try to update all my games this weekend, really try, and keep at it through the weekend and into next week. Okay?
I had a CT scan on Monday, the results weren't the best. I am scheduled for a surgery on Oct. 27 to remove something from my head that cannot be treated with drugs, but it is not in my brain, and is not supposed to be any kind of cancer, just something that needs to be taken out. There is, as always, a tiny, tiny chance of complications including vision problems - BUT I intend to keep doing this until I am forced to stop.

I've been thinking of turning this game into a variation of the Iron Gods adventure path, sending Stella (by means of teleportation) to the setting (which will be changed to be this world and not Numeria) with a mission to locate a technological device that can free the city.
What do you think of that idea?
Generic Dungeon Master |
Great, thank you.
Now before I move forward on the next part of this change (and I really thing a new game thread will be created to clean things up a bit) I'd like to ask you if you are familiar with one of my other games
Beyond Fort Horizon
because that game has suffered from player attrition as well, and I think I can combine both games into an iron Gods adventure path. If you are not comfortable playing with any of the players in that game please let me know (I have learned that some players on these forums do have preferences about who they will play with when it comes to some of the more active PbP participants).
If you don't mind playing in a game with those players, and assuming they have no objections, I will close both games and start a new one.
Your character will be teleported to the setting of the Iron Gods Adventure Path with a specific mission, and will need to recruit heroes to help you in that task. I will ask the other players (and at least three new recruited players) to respond to your character and join her, thus beginning the Iron Gods adventure path.
I'll give you more information about the setting as soon as everything is nailed down.
Stella Lucem Caelum |
Perfect. I am willing to go with that. That being said. Ill start reading that thread and familiarizing myself with the players. I normally don't have issues.
I only know one player on here I but heads with but I won't quit a game for them.

I have named the World where Du’Orbna is found, it is called Pirrunoth and this is a word that means, “Where the goddess Pirr Sleeps.” Pirr is a Dwarven Goddess, and Dwarves number almost as many as humans on this world.
The Country where Du’Orbna is found is called, “Eastland.” And it is on the continent of “South Augooria.”
The following Games are all set on this world
It’s “A” Dungeon
It’s “A” Dungeon, Too: The Second Chance
Reflections in the Eyes of the Beholders
“Say your Right Words”
The first three games are all set in Du’Orbna, while "Say your Right Words" is set on North Augooria
Generic Dungeon Master |
With regard to timelines
The It’s “A” Dungeons take place 400 years after the fall of Rhandilinskenburg, which is what became Du’Orbna (after the fall of the city, the terrible occupation that followed, and eventually the reclaiming of the city by the Lich Baroness It’Dupree.
Reflection in the Eye’s of the beholders takes place during the Necromechadon and Goblin Invasion of Rhandilinskenburg.
Say Your Right Words takes place 450 years before the fall of Rhandilinskenburg
Stella Lucem Caelum |
Okay I like what I see of them so far. My stats kind of outshine thier's, but with me being a healer it should work well. Do you want me to keep what I have?
Generic Dungeon Master |
Yes, I'd like you to keep what you have built so far. I think, if you don't mind, I am going to drop the comeliness aspect of the character (that never seemed to work the way I was imagining it would, instead of having encounters with many different types of people in the city I was always trying to figure out what characters were still participating and keep the game going).
I will find a way to put some spending money in your hands, and the next few posts in this game will, hopefully, explain how and why you will be sent to another world in order to save this one.
Stella Lucem Caelum |
Yeah unfortunately that is true. I didn't always roll the best anyways. :P
Comeliness can easily be dropped from the sheet. The other thing is also the NPC's. More specifically her sister. We could move her to be an NPC in the new game or have it where she is waiting for her return and running rescue operations there in the city of Rhandilinskenburg.
Generic Dungeon Master |
Well, I am hoping that with you, three players from Beyond Fort Horizon, and maybe two from the recruitment I just started we will have a good solid party. I think it would be best if your sister remained behind, and we occasionally (for narrative purposes) we will described what she is going through.
Is that okay?
However, I am planning on including Oscar.
Generic Dungeon Master |
There will be a few more posts in this game, by the Watcher, who will ask you a few questions, and present you the opportunity to take a dangerous journey in order to save the city. So watch for me to post a bit more here before we move to the new game.
I posted an iron Gods recruitment thread, it looks ridiculously long now that I look at it(probably the medication I am taking now to get ready for next week, it is making me feel so creative and invincible!)
