Oro-Tu |
Ready anytime boss. I can go first or last or we can each fight a match at same time to save time? However you want to do it.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
hoping we are fighting strangers not each other! So no gear, yikes: AC 13, attacks +11/+6, damage 1d3+4 right?
as they near the sound of fighting Ivar begins to remove his gear placing everything in a pile with his crewmates, planning on at least one of the staying with it while the others fight. He strips down to his breaches, boots, braids and tattoo's
Oro-Tu |
Sounds about right its 1d3 unarmed.
Oro-Tu shoves his ring of protection in his sack, undoes the straps on his breastplate and sets the sack, armor, quiver and weapons in the pile beside Ivar's gear. He cracks his knuckles and stretches in anticipation.
brvheart |
Ok, we will do Ivar first. He gets to fight the Tulita warrior Oro-Tu beat last time. Oro-Tu, you get to fight Dugan, a veteran of over two hundred bare knuckles matches. We can do both at the same time if you want.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
well if Oro-Yu beat this goof ball I guess I better
Ivar cracks his knuckles and shakes himself like an old bear and walking into the designated area spits and puts his hands up in a classical pugilistic fashion.
"time's a waistin', lets get this over with"
init.: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (20) + 3 = 23
how small is the ring and how close is the warrior, with that roll
Ivar will wait until the warrior comes closer within 5 ft. he will then take a quick step 5 ft and attempt to hit the warrior twice with two jabs
unless the warrior roles higher, of course
punch: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (14) + 11 = 25 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 = 7
punch: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
brvheart |
Ring is 20'x20' standard.
init: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (18) + 1 = 19
He is 15' away in the opposite corner as you act first.
brvheart |
As neither seems to want to take the first move, they bring you together for the prefight talk. The Tulita just glares at you
intimidate: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (17) + 8 = 25 DC=10+7 (your hit dice) =17
shaken: 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (3) + 1 = 4
Ivar is shaken for four rounds. Your init. You can take the 2 attacks you rolled if you wish but you are at -2 while shaken.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
I've never used intimidate in a fight before, very interesting, can Ivar attempt to intimidate him back? Or does he have to wait until the shaken wears off. and yes lets go ahead and take the punches, see what hits him.
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu yells encouragement at Ivar from the sidelines, keeping a hawks eye on their belongings during the match. He places a bet on himself of 100gp hoping to collect some money from this towards gear he needs, if he wins.
I thought we could do at once to not make the game slow down too much. Ivar I think you could intimidate him also but it's a standard action unless you have a feat etc to do it faster. Don't forget to power attack. If you aren't fighting a monk or something the AC is probably fairly low. Also I completely forgot last time the guy I fought drank a potion and I got a barkskin spell cast on me by Lyst, so not sure if we would be allowed to do that this time also. I don't have anything useful, unless Aurora has something to go around.
Before leaving, Oro-Tu asks Aurora if she has any spare blessings to put upon him. Oro-Tu then hops in the ring, ready to go, and begins chanting and dancing around, his tongue sticking out with a grimace on his face.
Init: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (13) + 2 = 15
brvheart |
It is a rage power for him so he can do it as a move action rather than a standard.
The warrior returns the blows
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
damage: 1d3 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
damage: 1d3 + 9 ⇒ (1) + 9 = 10
round two
Aurora Shadowbane |
well this is different, first crew I've been with that not only plans to get in a fight in a bar and winning, but plans on getting paid to do it, I hope it works out
Ivar follows behind the two pugilists, impressed that Aurora is fighting also. Ivar asks her half in jest
"good at the fighting or good at the hunting?"
Both I would say, never fought in the ring before, just tavern brawls, I am ready to go when you are, did trade out a first level spell to help me get out of grapple, don't have to cast it, it just goes off. Also, just to make sure you don't die in the ring, I am going to cast a life pact now. I also will do war mind as a blessing for you (choose one each rd: +10 speed, +1 AC, +1 att, +1 save)
Initiative: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (16) + 2 = 18
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
at 25-2 and 17-2
looks like this guy has a mean punch if he connects
Ivar twists and duck and throws two hard body blows to soften the man up.
will use power attack this time, so -2 shaken, -2 PA, +4 damage PA
punch: 1d20 + 11 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 11 - 2 - 2 = 27 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 4 = 11
crit. confirmed: 1d20 + 11 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (4) + 11 - 2 - 2 = 11 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 4 = 9
punch: 1d20 + 6 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (3) + 6 - 2 - 2 = 5 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 4 = 9
brvheart |
Reeling from the crit, the warrior power attacks again back:
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
damage: 1d3 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
damage: 1d3 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Aurora will fight the big human fighter that beat Oro-Tu last time!
Oro-Tu |
Wait wait a second, I had only fought one fight and never lost one :P
Oro-Tu grins wolfishly at Aurora, in thanks for the blessing, "Good luck in there."
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
can't take too many like that
Ivar cringes as he feels ribs crack, resisting the urge to drop his elbow to protect his ribs he throws a combination to the body again.
will use power attack again, so -2 shaken/3rd round , -2 PA, +4 damage PA, HP 45
punch: 1d20 + 11 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 11 - 2 - 2 = 12 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 4 = 10
punch: 1d20 + 6 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (5) + 6 - 2 - 2 = 7 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 4 = 11
brvheart |
Wait wait a second, I had only fought one fight and never lost one :P
Oro-Tu grins wolfishly at Aurora, in thanks for the blessing, "Good luck in there."
Man, sorry Oro-Tu I meant to have you fight him and we didn't for some reason. I think because you did not have unarmed strike. I am doing the fights concurrently, although you are fighting next then Aurora so go ahead and roll init.
init Dugan: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (12) + 2 = 14
brvheart |
The warrior is still reeling, but attacks again
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (6) + 9 = 15
damage: 1d3 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (11) + 4 = 15
damage: 1d3 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
need to end this soon, I know he broke ribs
Ivar, going for the knock out punch jabs and then throws a haymaker
will use power attack again, so -2 shaken/last round , -2 PA, +4 damage PA, HP 22
punch: 1d20 + 11 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 11 - 2 - 2 = 26 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 4 = 10
punch: 1d20 + 6 - 2 - 2 ⇒ (8) + 6 - 2 - 2 = 10 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 4 + 4 = 11
brvheart |
The jab hits, but the haymaker glances off. The warrior counters with a one-two punch of his own, right cross followed by a left upper cut.
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (4) + 9 = 13
damage: 1d3 + 9 ⇒ (2) + 9 = 11
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
damage: 1d3 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Aurora Shadowbane |
Ok, her is go, wish me luck!!
activating war-mind on herself before entering the ring, using bonus to attack, destructive smite and power attack for my first punch, only get one attack a round, so it has to count, next round add my channel force feet, but may loose my power attack for something depending on how hard he is to hit.
Grinning a big menacing grin, I glare into his eyes and tell him that his physical might is nothing to my faith in my god and he will be smote today and he might as well run now whilst he can, because me and my god are "just a bit crazy and I need a taste of his blood to take the edge off a bit, this is going to be fun"
Improved Unarmed Strike (Sacred Weapon): 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (6) + 5 = 111d6 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
using agile feet, I appear to be doing some very fast foot work to avoid his jabs, ducking and weaving, while delivering a very potent jab to his jaw.
brvheart |
"Girlie, if you're gonna step in this ring, you're gonna get your head handed to ya!"
With that he power attacks twice
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
damage: 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
damage: 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Aurora Shadowbane |
continuing my strategy this round, warmind to attack and adding channel force, I swing for the soloplex. (59 - 11 damage = 48)
Improved Unarmed Strike: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (19) + 5 = 241d6 + 12 ⇒ (6) + 12 = 18
brvheart |
Using his height and reach advantage, he pummels Aurora twice to the head.
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (20) + 8 = 28
damage: 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (5) + 3 = 8
damage: 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
confirm crit: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (11) + 8 = 19
extra damage: 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
brvheart |
Seeing that worked out well, he continues to press the attack
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
damage: 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (6) + 3 = 9
damage: 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
Aurora Shadowbane |
..and the hits keep on coming (19 htk)...
Punch to the gut, he is a little tall, not using power attack, war mind to ac +1 (13): 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (6) + 7 = 131d6 + 8 ⇒ (4) + 8 = 12
brvheart |
He switched up to a left jab followed by a right cross.
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (14) + 8 = 22
damage: 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (1) + 8 = 9
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (1) + 3 = 4
damage: 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
Aurora Shadowbane |
Punch hard, if I am going down, I'm taking him with me: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 61d6 + 12 ⇒ (4) + 12 = 16
..10 htk...
brvheart |
Seeing Aurora stumble, he takes advantage with a quick one-two punch hoping to end this.
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (8) + 8 = 16
damage: 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (3) + 8 = 11
unarmed strike: 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (14) + 3 = 17
damage: 1d3 + 8 ⇒ (2) + 8 = 10
brvheart |
Ivar's turn. I believe he is at 11 HP and his opponent is not doing a lot better.
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu growls in anger at the fighters on his friends as he watches in anxious anticipation.
I rolled init on my previous, got a 15 DM total
Oro-Tu roars as Aurora gets knocked out, almost climbing into the ring after the attacker if not for Ivar managing to restrain him.
brvheart |
You have init then as he rolled a 14. Go ahead and take your round one. I will be back after a nap:) Remember you start in your corners. Has anyone figured out it is not a good thing to win init in this?
Dugan is a fierce-looking bear of a man. His bony, crooked nose indicates he learned his pugilistic skills the hard way, and he is indeed a veteran of over two hundred bare knuckles matches.
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu wastes no time flying into a rage accompanied by a yell of something in his native tongue that is long and rolling.
(Charge, power attack, stalwart, war mind attack, AC 8, Dr 5/- and 10/- nonlethal, HP 90)
1d20 + 18 - 4 ⇒ (20) + 18 - 4 = 34
Damage: 1d3 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 4 = 13
Crit!: 1d20 + 18 - 4 ⇒ (19) + 18 - 4 = 33
Damage: 1d3 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 4 = 15
Oro-Tu roars, spittle flying from his mouth and he leaps on his foe, his fist slamming right into the combatant's face with a sickening crunch and a spray of blood and teeth.
Belok must be proud of his work, lol. Lethal damage, unless we are required to use non-lethal. Headband of havok boosts guarded life btw.
Ivar "Goldilocks" Theodinson |
had to go to a meeting at work, but ready to finish the fight {I hope}
duck and move, duck and move
The last blow rocking Ivar, ducking his forehead he took the blow in the side of the head, glancing off his cheek, blood now pouring from a cut above the eye. Ivar feeling more confident leads with the left to the face and follows it up with a vicious kidney punch.
power attack, -2 PA, +4 damage PA, HP 11
punch: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (20) + 11 - 2 = 29 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 4 = 10
confirm crit.: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (19) + 11 - 2 = 28 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (2) + 4 + 4 = 10
punch: 1d20 + 6 - 2 ⇒ (2) + 6 - 2 = 6 for unarmed damage: 1d3 + 4 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 + 4 = 9
brvheart |
Both fighters are now about spent and that last blow really rocked the warrior but he continues to power attack with a one two punch.
unarmed: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (17) + 9 = 26
damage: 1d3 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
unarmed: 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (5) + 4 = 9
damage: 1d3 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Oro-Tu |
Shows how awesome a 1/day reroll would be. If that 2 had been a bit higher on the second hit you'd probably have knocked him out :(
Oro-Tu looks to be thoroughly enjoying the carnage and roars in dismay as the fighter counter attacks Ivar. [b]"Hit him again! Again Ivar!"
brvheart |
Oro-Tu, most combats here are non-lethal unless there is some grudge or reason to turn lethal
Dugan fires back with two lethal blows of his own, somewhat confused why this warrior is doing this.
unarmed power attack: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (20) + 11 = 31
damage: 1d3 + 11 ⇒ (3) + 11 = 14
unarmed power attack: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
damage: 1d3 + 11 ⇒ (1) + 11 = 12
confirm critical: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (8) + 9 = 17
damage: 1d3 + 9 ⇒ (3) + 9 = 12
Oro-Tu |
OOps. I would do non-lethal, if that was the standard of the arena. I have no grudge against the guy except for being a raging barbarian lol. Maybe I got excited about finally having IUS hehehe
Oro-Tu flashes Dugan a grin, and swings twice more. I will do nonlethal, since its apparently bad form to do lethal lol. Reckless abandon on now.
Attack 1: 1d20 + 16 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 16 - 2 = 27
Damage: 1d3 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (3) + 8 + 4 = 15
Attack 2: 1d20 + 11 - 2 ⇒ (13) + 11 - 2 = 22
Damage: 1d3 + 8 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 8 + 4 = 13
(DR 5/-, AC 8)
You can leave the lethal attack as my error, or change it to non-lethal, either way. Definitely wouldn't have done it if it wasn't typically done, since I'm not evil. Don't know why I assumed the higher ranked fighters used lethal
brvheart |
The problem is going to be your 10/non lethal DR which is going to force him to stay lethal. If you drop that he can stay non-lethal. He crit and hit, hard. Ivar went down.
brvheart |
Not going to matter now as Dugan falls to your last blow. Oro-Tu is the only winner of the group tonight and gains 50 GP for his win and gains ranking as a fighter at The Skull
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu claps Belok on the back, "Had a good teacher! Let us have a drink then! Though I think I could fight another. That man went down fast."
Oro-Tu |
He laughs and shrugs, "Does not matter who. I am here, seems a waste to leave so fast. The elf move fast?"
brvheart |
Varion Drakemoor is a lithe wiry elf, whose smaller frame does not fit among his hulking compatriots. Truth be told, folks considered him a bit of a dandy before earlier this year. He competed a few times in the Skull, but never succeeded in beating Dugan until last month.
Oro-Tu |
Oro-Tu squints, studying the elf. He is not stupid enough to underestimate a foe simply because everyone considered him a fop. He wonders at what makes him hard to hit, nodding at him when he notices Oro-Tu looking in his direction.
"Any other useful information, Belok?"
Afterwards he goes to check on Dugan, apologizing to him, "Just learning to fight with the fist. Sorry to hit so hard at first."
I am OK doing another round if you want before we go slay ghosts, but I'd probably try to get some healing first, and maybe a potion of bull strength like that first warrior did.
brvheart |
"No hard feelings, buy me a beer and we'll call it even:)" says Dugan.
