I updated the map, but no one said anything. It is a short passage 5' wide by 30' deep that dead ends. Nothing is detected within range.


"All clear, eh? Probably not for long in this sewer of horrors. Do all cities have this knack for burying long-forgotten problems below where you all live?" Leialoha waits for the others to advance and then joins them, ready for the next monster to emerge.

This dark tunnel proceeds deeper into the
catacombs. Halfway through the passage, the
ceiling becomes a large rusted metal grate. Several
mangled corpses dangle, mashed against the grate
and almost squeezed through the openings by a
weight above them. A child’s arm flops in the air,
and a fat man’s thick ropey entrails almost reach the
passage floor. Blood and other fluids drip steadily
from above.

Natalie snickers. Don't you know the best lair has many secret doors and winding trapped passageways? It makes it more exciting. Her words practically drip with sarcasm as she carry the large naked sword through the sewers. Keeping an eye and ear out for trouble.

I am not sure I understand the question Beth. You exit the secret passage to an east-west passageway 10' wide. The passage is just north of the secret door and is 30' north of the previous room. I hope that helps. If you need email me at ggeilman at satx dot rr dot com.

Sorry, my post was not clear. The description of the passageway says on half of it there is a rusted metal grate with corpses on them that replaces the ceiling. My question was on which half of the passage way? For example with the map sewer 22, would it be B10-M11 or N10-Y11?

They would show up from "detect evil" as all undead are evil. Since they didn't, there shouldn't be any undead here. Unless they're using a spell to hide their alignment or they are behind a large amount of stone or a sheet of lead or something.

Presuming you are detecting again, you detect evil above. When you detected before they were out of your cone range. I checked it carefully!

You are guessing the grate openings are not wide enough for the bodies to fit through, only body parts and entrails.

If every one agrees, Beth will spend three rounds casting spells. First: Shield of Faith on Nathalie (+3 deflexion AC for 6 minutes) then the same on Oro-Tu, using her pearl of power to recall the spell, then she'll cast call lightning.
