Round tracking. I will do a summary and include a Round number. I have a round tracking spreadsheet on google drives, but it has a lot more information, that you are not privy to right now. Like who has the cursed items and who is diseased, and identification and value of items you haven't identified.

Aaaaaawwwww, I was enjoying playing Tony :D

Puns aside, that idea sounds solid GM HoF, and it would be GREAT to have an active player as group's scout (I probably said it before, but I think this is huge on dungeon crawls).

Reporting for duty!

welcome Oasis...I just sent you a PM, on how to set up your "Tony Tanner alias, and stuff. Is your roll20 account under the same name? I'll shoot you a line there and invite you to the game.

actually, I need your email....PM that to me and I'll invite you

How do I look?

Yea! Looks like the same old Tony to me!

Prepare to kick some butt and get your butt kicked. So far NONE of our encounters have been easy. A refreshing change from society play.

Well, I don't think that is going to change. They are understandably reluctant to kill off characters so most encounter heavily favor the players. I just personally prefer something more challenging. But even with a 10% chance at death per chronicle you would not see many high level characters floating about.

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

Yeah they want people to feel great and buy product

but anyway...back to death and drek

Well, its more than just that. The whole idea is to be able to carry your character from game to game and see it grow. Killing the characters off defeats the purpose. I understand keeping it mostly safe for the characters, but I would prefer a bigger chance at death. I think I remember one person saying it like your character should survive if you do nothing stupid but there are severe penalties for stupidity. Like attacking the curator for a graveyard because he annoyed you. Or going all barbarian and changing into the middle of a pack of enemies with no regard to tactics. Or neglecting to heal up after a encounter because you are too cheap or forgetful.

But this game is really nice because though losing your character is a bummer, it's not too bad since you get to create a new one and jump right back in. Since a huge part of the fun for me is creating characters, I'm not going to lose any sleep over losing one. Perhaps if 95% of my games were like this one instead of vice vers, I would be longing for more PFS style games :)

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Forgive me, but I'm relatively new to the Paizo.com boards...
...and even this particular play-style...

I migrated from the Giant in the Playground forums to the Myth-Weavers.com forums (and use their sheets and Photoshop for maps).

Is there a way to format posts? Italics? Fonts?
Found it.

Is the way we play is that dice are rolled and movements done on roll20 and narration is done here, on Paizo?

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Also, while I am trying to catch up...
...anyone have a summary of what's gone before?
=P

Male Human Cleric 4 /Monk 1 AC: 22 T: 21 FF: 13 HP 28/37 Init +2 Fort +8 Ref +6 Will +13

Hi!
We do dice and narration on Paizo, and movement on Roll20, you can roll dice using the dice format, the one on the bottom.

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

dice are rolled here. movement is done on roll20.

Overview...let me see if I can think back that far...

Tony was being chased by ghouls. The party he was with had been decimated by them and he ran. He came over the top of a ridge, and laid out before him was an upside-down crucifix shaped depression, littered with gravestones, and three mausoleums. In front of the central one, a group of adventurers were in combat with green stone gargoyles. Tony joined in, hopeful that the group would help him deal with the ghouls that were hot on his tail if he helped them with the gargoyles.

In the fight with the gargoyles and/or the successive fight with the ghouls, Tessai the Paladin and Magnus the Arcanist died... before the group ever entered RA.

Falling back several miles from the graveyard, the group burned their dead. (This is where I came in) They decided to track the ghouls to their lair, and do so, finding the tracks lead directly into a gully with a stream running down it. Tony explores up top, and notices that after about 300 yards, the gully ends and the stream emerges from a crack in the rock, big enough for a humanoid to crawl into. The rest of the group joins him up top. It's raining all this time, and the creek is rising slightly.

Long story short, there are ghouls buried in the walls of the gully as an ambush, which the group takes care of. But they decide to fall back again, and not enter the lair. They go back to the graveyard, pick up Brodin the Zen Archer, enter the green stone mausoleum, avoid a trap and find a secret trap door in the floor descending.

The first level smells like s%+!e, literally. A collapsed room. A room full of bones with a little green slime, which they leave alone. A room with an empty coffin and two rusted, crumbled candleabra. A room with a table and a skeleton sitting ion a chair, deck of cards on the table. Get attacked by some wererats. avoid a pit, and then find a secret room with...three privy seats. Something magical is apparent below the middle seat. When Reynaud goes to move the seat, his hands stick to it, and it changes into a disgusting, huge pile of living excrement. It proves to be very difficult to damage, and slowly chases them when they retreat.

They lead it back to the green slime, which consumes it. They cross over and go back to exploring, discover a magical dagger, bottle and some bracers. (eventually identified as a +3 dagger, an efreeti bottle and bracers of armor) Find another secret room with a ghast who is very happy to see them. He has a treasure chest with a bag of holding with a bunch of gold in it.

With treasure in hand, they decide to fall back and go to town. Getting back up to the mausoleum, they find the doors shut and unable to be opened. They rest, and go back down, when someone mentions that the rat holes may lead to the surface.

They get back down there and the huge patch of green slime, which is normally immobile, is gone. Crawling into the rat tunnels, the first find a cavern full of rats, and then a cavern full of fungus. Sunlight comes in from the opposite side of the cavern, but they are attacked by mobile fungus, with tentacles, which when they touch you, rot flesh. They eventually get out, and get a couple miles away before camping for the evening.

During the night they are attacked by wraiths, and Agyen the Psychic dies.

They meet a caravan on the road, and then go to the nearest city and come back. On the way, the green emerald eyes of the gargoyles which they took as loot transformed into two more gargoyles. Easily taken care of. Then they meet Gilda the druid who is looking for some friends whose house was burned down by hobgoblins. She accompanies then to the city, but leaves them there to hunt the hobgoblins.

They meet up with Gilda on their way back, run into some hobgoblin scouts, which they track to their lair. They have just entered the lair, a trapdoor in a burned out ruined house. With hobgoblin ambushers up top, they all climbed down and took care of the hobgoblins in the first room.

They are now giving chase to 4 hobgoblins who retreated. Garrosh just brained one, leaving one more blocking the door where the other two ran.

I will be celebrating the Independence Day holiday this weekend. While I will be home, I most likely will not be on much. But that's OK< as we are waiting for Seir, Reynaud and Brodin to act.

So, Tony is a veteran with some immediate loss in his past.

Bad idea, Tony. Whenever being chased by undead, into the graveyard is always a bad idea.

I assume this is the dagger, +3 that Tony has on his sheet?

Okay. Clearing out a hobgoblin hideout, then.

I can understand that.

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Okay, I think, one more post...
...I'm looking at the map...

I see a hobgoblin flanked by an orc and what I presume is a fire elemental... Well within Tony's range to move and sneak attack...

...or should he keep moving, following the other characters as his last player described?

Correct.

I thought it might be nice to put some basic personality traits out there for you.

Belle: Joined the group for *art*. Apparently she was advised that she needed to experience the darker side of life for her art to become truly great. She worships some weird eastern kitsune god of art that (sort of reminds you of Shelyn) or something and is a bit obsessed with the idea of improving her talent. Having been a homebody up until now she is very naive. She spends much of her free time sketching and the like. She has a high sense of party loyalty that irrationally extended at one point to the party mule and nearly got her killed. She is a survivor though, typically casting vanish at the first sign of trouble.

Neat...

...I guess.
D:

More questions...
...how much experience should Tony have? And what experience speed are we using? Hero Points?

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

Hobgoblin isn't flanked, but yes, that is a fire elemental Summoned by Belle. The guy that looks like an orc is Garrosh

I've got experience tracked. I'll let you know when you level. Moderate Speed. No Hero Points.

I did not get around to putting Tony into Hero Lab to check things this weekend, and would most likely need to buy more modules for it, as I am 99.9999% sure I don't have the Unchained module. I did notice a couple things off...Attack Bonuses, Saves, Number of Languages...but...meh...

Need to finish reviewing this protocol and then will update.

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Hiya,

Hope you had a good weekend.
=D

I'm guessing that you weren't the DM who approved the characters/sheets? It's possible that the original DM didn't notice or had some sort of house rules.

Anyways, I've tried to keep my version of Tony Tanner strictly RAW. I don't know if this is how'd I'd build the sort of character he's described to be, but I can play him.
=)

Thanks for the answers to my questions.

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

yeah I took over the GM-ship quite a ways after the start of things.

What was wrong with the character? Should we audit each others characters? Might help.

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

I noticed some inconsistencies in attack bonuses, saves and number of languages. I've been meaning to pull them all into HeroLab and audit them, but that would require spending a lot of money, as the original GM allowed more stuff than I have purchased.

They were all pretty minor.

Belle, I added 4 lights to the board and stacked them all in one space. They all generate light.

I prefer to either have my sheets formatted like they are in the D&D Monster Manuals or in a Myth-Weavers format. I decided to build Tony up from scratch and started to notice little errors, nothing major, just numbers out of place, more languages than usual, etc..

Quote:

*whistles*

Yeah, that is pricey.
Self-auditing would probably be better. Any mistakes'll inevitably come up in play.

Male Human Unchained Rogue 5

Forgive all my questions...

I just noticed a character behind Tony...
...within ten feet, two squares left and one up...
...who or what's that? Friend or foe?

And what's the posting rate like for this game?

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

that's Gilda, an NPC druid.

Post rate is usually pretty good, but things seem to have slowed down a bit.

Could I give an order for Gilda? do you have a spell list or should I just pick and hope?

Rappan Athuk on roll20.net

You can of course order Gilda around. Yes, I have a spell list for her.

Well hey, you wanted hobgoblins, so you got hobgoblins. If you want, I could have the lair overrun by the ghouls who were chasing Tony several scene's back, sandwiching you between the ghouls and the hobgoblins :) That might be more interesting :)
