I do not believe I want anything that was in there, however we really need to identify those potions somehow. Who has spellcraft? Can we take 10 on spellcraft?
Will note that each share is 270gp and may make a purchase.
GM - Mark Garringer |
Sorry, work has been kicking my tail. But it's coming soon, promise :)
Parfin Groud |
I was wondering if we might want to each contribute 125gp to the party funds and purchase a wand of Cure Light Wounds for party use? If this were PFS we'd easily be able to have all the healing we'd need but in this scenario it's a bit more difficult.
Kwin Avassar |
Regarding Potions. Rose, Kwin will take the potion of hide from animals. I think the three cure light wounds potions should go to Dobin, Parfin and Jericho. I’d like the potion of invisibility for Kwin if no one else has a tactic they want to use it for. Dobin and Parfin, which of you should carry the second oil of magic weapon?
Kwin will spend the 270 gp of share, plus 80 gp of his carried wealth for a total of 350 gp. That includes 125 gp toward a wand of cure light wounds.
Kwin’s purchases: 125 gp toward a wand of cure light wounds, scroll cases (2), sealing wax, a quiver of blunt arrows (20), another vermin repellant, marker dye, and scroll scribing materials (200 gp worth).
Kwin will scribe five scrolls:
Scroll 1: Burning Hands (CL2), Burning Hands (CL2), Burning Hands (CL2)
Scroll 2: Color Spray (CL1), Color Spray (CL1), Color Spray (CL1)
Scroll 3: Vanish (CL2), True Strike (CL1)
Scroll 4: Mage Armor (CL1), Shield (CL1)
Scroll 5: Gravity Bow (CL1), Magic Weapon (CL1)
GM - Mark Garringer |
Kwin:
scroll case (1) 1d100 ⇒ 76 <= 75
scroll case (2) 1d100 ⇒ 84 <= 75
sealing wax 1d100 ⇒ 44 <= 75
quiver of blunt arrows (20) 1d100 ⇒ 81 <= 75
vermin repellant 1d100 ⇒ 5 <= 75
marker dye 1d100 ⇒ 23 <= 75
Ramus apologizes profusely that he only has one scroll case on hand for sale. "I'll put in an order for the blunt arrows, but they won't arrive until next week." Ramus smiles.
Parfin:
alchemist's fire (1) 1d100 ⇒ 74 <= 75
alchemist's fire (2) 1d100 ⇒ 73 <= 75
Rose:
armor spikes 1d100 ⇒ 26 <= 75
Group purchase:
wand of cure light wounds 1d100 ⇒ 30 <= 75
Felix:
arrows (20) 1d100 ⇒ 50 <= 75
mace 1d100 ⇒ 65 <= 75

Excellent. I've deducted both the 40gp and the 125gp for the wand. Oh, what is the cost for our room and board again? I need to deduct that as well.
Dobin Cur |
Dobin also gives 124 for the CLW want. He did receive 1 CLW potion from the gnolls...so if you want to give the other potion to someone else thats fine (or I'll keep it...thats fine too!!) Parfin can also have the oil of magic weapon.

Then I think I'll keep that poition of CLW for Kwin so he has something other than his healing surge. Hopefully the scrolls, potions and wand will let us stay longer on our next outing. :)

LOL..I always like to spread out the potions so everyone has some access to quick healing....if there were plenty then I would give the frontliners some extra...but lets get everyone covered first...you never know what could happen out there..lol
GM - Mark Garringer |
The irony of Dobin wanting to leave the idol room due to his bad luck streak, only to fall in a pit trap is almost too much :)
GM - Mark Garringer |
I have withdrawn my name from consideration so if you haven't already PM'ed DoubleGold, don't worry about it. Thanks :)
GM - Mark Garringer |
Thanks for the heads up Rose! I'll keep us moving headlong into danger ;)
Kwin Avassar |
Just thinking out loud a bit here. Once we've finished going through the obvious paths on this level, Kwin will want to use Detect Secret Doors over the entirety of what they've explored. Basically moving through the areas as quickly as possible just to reveal the presence of any secret doors we may have missed. With a casting of Expeditious Retreat, I am guessing he might be able to make it through much of the level with one day's worth of spells, especially if he uses second level spell slots (when he gets them) to memorize more castings. I'd be open to thoughts on how to do so efficiently without slowing up the game when the time comes.
GM - Mark Garringer |
Sorry for the short notice, poor thought process on my part. I'm moving today and tomorrow and will be away mostly. Thanks!
GM - Mark Garringer |
We can RP the trip back to Zelkor's Ferry, or we can handwave it. I'm fine either way, and understand both options. I'll leave it up to you guys.
Please choose one, first choice to four is what we'll go with:
Handwave
RP
GM - Mark Garringer |
Important point that I think I overlooked...where will you be returning to in the Mouth of Doom? :)
GM - Mark Garringer |
Sorry, I'll get the next post up tonight. Work started at 12:30 am this morning and was pretty much non-stop till 3:30 pm today.
GM - Mark Garringer |
Jericho morningstar: 1d100 ⇒ 77 *doh* Rasmus apologizes for not having any morningstars on hand. He does have a second heavy mace though and offers it instead.
Dobin heavy mace: 1d100 ⇒ 66
Jericho heavy mace: 1d100 ⇒ 26
You spend the night again at Bristleback's Inn and rest. Spend 1 gp each. Healing one point of ability damage, or 2 points via a Heal check by Rose.
However in the morning Rose herself looks very tired, as though she hadn't slept a wink last night, with red, puffy bags under her eyes and warm to the touch.
Felix cross-checks her symptoms and onset and says the poor halfling is suffering from filth fever most commonly carried by giant rats.
Rose please make a Fort save for today's check.
Parfin Groud |
We must take care of Rose at all costs. Isn't there a healer in the town that could perform the proper ritual or spell? Parfin will then see if the man we escorted back to town is doing better now that he has reached civilization.
GM - Mark Garringer |
Though presenting the signs of the illness, Rose manages to fight off the worst of the effects...today. :)

Rose wants to take a step back and throw up an Obscuring Mist. That should give us concealment and protect us from ranged attacks. And if I understand how the spell works, the Orcs not standing in the mist would not have concealment if we're standing at the edge of the mist. But the mist could also mess us up as well. Does anyone object to the use of this spell?
Her alternative move is probably a Bit of Luck on Jericho.
Kwin Avassar |
Quick question. If Kwin (or anyone, for that matter) were to use the house rule healing surge ability while under the effects of a bleed attack, would it end the bleeding like magical healing would, or is that making the ability more powerful than you intended?
GM - Mark Garringer |
Nope, it would absolutely be treated the same. A healing surge would end the bleed effect.
