Looks like my post never actually got posted (thanks paizo!). I would have healed Bryn, but I'm not sure how I could have kept him alive; Although I think I missed the effect that dropped his max hp to 4.

As Bryn falls, Vothe will unleash a torrent of curses and swear words in a few different languages, directed at the Spectre who killed him.

Vicious Mockery on the one who dropped Bryn. Wisdom save or take 1d4 ⇒ 2 and have disadvantage on the next attack roll it makes this turn. Vothe will also use a reaction to reduce the next damage a spectre deals by 1d6 ⇒ 5.

Each sarcophagus contains mummified remains, the tattered remnants of ancient burial garments, and treasure of Netherese origin.

The northeast sarcophagus contains two gold bracelets worth 50 gp each and a ceremonial wand (nonmagical) made of chiseled ivory worth 25 gp.

The northwest sarcophagus contains an onyx ring worth 50 gp and a silver necklace set with two azurites and a carnelian worth 250 gp.

The southwest sarcophagus contains a ewer made of beaten gold worth 25 gp and a walking stick worth 75 gp. The walking stick is made of varnished yew with a golden handle shaped like a scorpion.

The southeast sarcophagus contains a gold censer with platinum filigree worth 250 gp.

Feel free to drag Aten out of the tomb if no one wants to go further. I'd like to see if there is more to be found though, Bryn's death should be worth something.

What you are describing Master Vothe is known as the "sunken ship" fallacy. What happens if another of us falls? Does it then become doubly important that we stay? If a third then triply? He turns to Ghiv and speaks surprisingly calmy, "We followed a voice asking for help and were then attacked by these Spectres as we searched. We have put some undead to rest and still haven't found the one who needs us. Ghiv, you could be right that we are making a mistake, but we could also be saving a life that Bryn himself wished to save. I intend to continue onward, for Bryn, for the voice, for curiosity and for treasure."
