Hey folks, A dear friend of mine died and I will be traveling to attend a funeral over the next few days. I'll check in when I can.
(I'll still be around tomorrow evening, Cyr, so no problem there)

Hey y'all my posting rate probably won't be stellar the next month or so. We're 32 days from the election so I'm going to be busy busy busy.
I'll still be able to post at my first job, but if I haven't posted by 2pm central I'm probably not going to that day. Thanks for understanding and things should be back to normal after Nov 6.

Hello, everyone! My many apologies for my delays. I am still here, and yes, throwing a bunch of time at 2E playtest stuff, so apologies for my crumminess. It was also my daughter's 3rd birthday last weekend (hooray!) and many preperations were required.
I can only ask your forgiveness, and now that the busy couple weeks have passed for family matters, I hope to post more regularly here again.

I'm still really into this campaign and these characters. I will gladly admit the militia rules never really clicked with me, so I'm not the person to be in charge of it, but I understand enough to (hopefully) make helpful comments from time to time.
I think one thing that might be helpful is just a reminder of some of the information we found before that could send us in various directions

For the Downtime Research rules, how are bonuses determined? If Orrias wants to investigate the weird tooth fairy ritual that would probably be Knowledge (Nature) and/or (Planes), and Orrias only has ranks in the latter. So if I want to research something in the Nature wheelhouse how would I go about it?
GM Cyrioul |
Hi, all, sorry for the delay, as I was traveling for a wedding during the 2nd half of last week.
I think that the Downtime Research rules would let you roll up to 3 checks on the topic, but I'm going to house rule that by doing research, you can get a total above 10 for a knowledge skill that you aren't trained in. If you want to gain and spend a point of Magic capital, you could use that capital on the knowledge check and make a +5 bonus on each check.
Sound good?

A message to all my games:
I apologize for disappearing late last week! I am a freelancer and my work has suddenly and unexpectedly kicked into high gear. On top of that, I’m attempting to apply to graduate programs, and most of those applications are due in early January. I was hoping that I could keep up my posting rate, but between work and the holidays I’m clearly going to slump a little.
If I’m a player in this game, PLEASE feel free to bot me if I haven’t posted in a bit. I really appreciate it.
If I’m the GM, I can only ask for your kind patience. I’ll try to post ASAP to keep us moving.
Sorry, again, for the slightly delayed notice. Things should clear up after the next two weeks.

Dear friends,
I'm sorry, yes, I've been tied up with the playtest and with a number of personal matters that have taken my usual time for writing posts to advance our story.
Tomorrow my car has to be at the shop, and they have wifi, and I plan to update us then. I'll post on Thursday and Friday as well.
On Saturday, I will be doing a 10-12 hour (variables due to toddler) drive across the country to see family for the holidays. Once we arrive, I should have time to post fairly easily for the couple weeks we are there.
Peace,
Cyr

I'm glad its just busywork. Hope everything goes smoothly especially during this hectic time of the year.

Thanks. I’m grateful that we aren’t where we were this time last year, still mourning the untimely passing of my spouse’s older brother as we headed into the holidays. Still going to be tough this year, but also happy that everyone else seems ok right now.
Hope you and all your families have delightful holiday plans coming up!

Hello - could someone click here and let me know if you can edit the spreadsheet that is linked? If so, we can proceed with updating it more quickly. Thanks!

Hi all. Apologies for the delay, more extended than I intended. I am trying to catch up on things, but am trying to read through and evaluate where I can jump back in.
Thanks for your patience!

I've got a couple ideas that involve using Prestidigitation and Bluff to try and get rid of these guards.
My first idea is to make one of the Dottari's breath smell overwhelmingly like mint candies, then accuse him of violating "noble Lord Thrune's" Seventh Proclamation and try to provoke the other guards into hauling their comrade off for such treasonous behavior.
Secondly, and similar to the previous idea, I could use Prestidigitation to make it seem like one of the guards has a very bad nosebleed, then accuse him of being high on Pesh while on duty. This commotion could cause the group to withdraw.
Lastly, I could simply use the spell to make it smell like the lead Dottari has soiled himself, and we could try to shame him into retreating.
What are your thoughts, team?

quick update: I have to travel for the next few days (3/11-3/15) and I'm unsure of internet access. I'll do my best to check in when I can. Please bot me as needed.

heads up: I'm travelling over the next few days. I SHOULD still have some access, but will have limited opportunities to post. Please BOT me if needed.

let me ask a related question: GM has just finished moving, maybe he has some more time (I don't actually know yet). If he's available, would y'all wanna pick this back up or are y'all done with it?

Hello, friends,
I am sorry that it has taken me so long to write this. What a whirlwind my family has had this summer. We are now in NYC, mostly unpacked but still fairly unsettled of heart and mind at the transition.
I was hoping that coming here and getting settled somewhere long term would permit me to get back into our Hell's Rebels game with greater enthusiasm. However, I don't believe that's going to be the case.
When I first offered to run this game, it was because I was just coming back to Pathfinder after a long, first-child-induced hiatus from the game. That child was taking naps, I wasn't working online as much, and I didn't have a weekly 'live' game to prep for or play in.
Two years later, my child has stopped taking naps (my favorite time to write for the PBP is now spent at parks chasing her around), I'm working more hours from home (mostly into the late evening), and through the Pathfinder Playtest last year, I assembled a group that continues to meet weekly to game live.
And so, I'm sorry. I wish I could have continued to make this PBP work, but I didn't want to let it continue lingering on in your list of campaigns forever. I'm sorry that I couldn't get us all the way through this AP, and hope that you have a good experience with the story with another group someday.
If we should ever run into each other in person, I'd be happy to buy you a coffee or a beer, depending on your tastes, and we can talk gaming again. Until then, peace be with you - best wishes on all your games.
- Jason
