Annak Malvari |
Annak never really decided on what disguise to wear so she will use a simple peasant girl disguise, possibly a servant for the noble
Annak is bemused at the raccon eyed sailor, and then turns her attention towards the ship. She slowly grabs her bow and arrows and stands on the prow of the ship.
if the picture on the map is the frosthamer then there is no eagles nest.
qwerty71 |
there is no eagle's nest- the boat is a knarr
As soon as the ship gets close enough you see its name “The Blade of St. Martius”, and Talirean sailors begin shouting “Heave to in the name of the king!” Kargeld and his men comply, slowing the ship and awaiting the approach. Kargeld mutters under his breathe 'I hope you all are good at your job.'
qwerty71 |
The royal ship gets next to the Frosthamer and four soldiers armed with spears come aboard with a well dressed and armed male. The remaining soldiers and sailors aboard the Blade are at the gunwale armed with bows covering their friends. The one in charge speaks, "My name is Captain Sambryl and I demand to speak to whoever is in charge." You can see a Mitra symbol on his cloak pin.
Bracnos |
I thought wade flew over to greet them before the ship had arrived?
Bracnos looks up to Wade
takeing a small bow and showing great pain in getting up right
"th*cough.COUGH* oh...it's hard get*cough* getting old...sorry,ohh"
whipeong his mouth and the back of his hand and patting his chest Bracnos indicates to Wade
" that would be Father Willhelm, up over head*cough, cough* there"
oh i just looked at the photo of the ship sorry about the crows nest ^_^

"On the Kings orders we are required to search your ship and cargo. Do not interfere."
Wade Willhelm v2 |
oh my! Do you have some kind of proof? Begging your pardon sir, but I must be sure you aren't pirates we had to fight off a band of them earlier, they fled to the north, you could probably catch them if you left now, a ship as fast as yours
bluff: 1d20 + 12 ⇒ (16) + 12 = 28
Wade shifts his posture slightly and a pendant falls into more plain view, low ad behold, it's an amulet of mara mitra, an anglekin with an amulet of mitra, surely he must be one of the good guys
Syldran |
"We've been barely able to hold our own, sires. As Father Wilhelm has stated, many pirates have been roaming these regions. We are weary, and just wish to get to our destination and have a nice night's sleep, without fear of getting waylaid by ruffians."
Bluff: 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (6) + 11 = 17
Wade Willhelm v2 |
im assuming that was an aid another type roll yes? Otherwise even on a 20 you opening your mouth would be a hindrance to my lieing prowess
qwerty71 |
"A fellow Mitran, good, now speak up. Pirates you say...what banner did they fly? What direction did they come from? What manner ship did they use? How many men? Who was in charge? Perhaps it was a Knarr? I will need more information than just pirates attacked if you expect me to go chasing a rumor. I've heard enough rumors already. Sgt. Kolstaff have the man start the search in the back and be quick about it in case they provide more credible information and we need to depart. You stay here with me so you can hear the pirate information as well." The Captain says to you and then his men. The soldiers begin walking to the back and the team can see Kargeld getting nervous.
the bluff attempt worked now you need to back it up with some specifics
qwerty71 |
Razul Tarym |
"They were a strange group for certain. All short races, kobolds, goblins, some dwarves, led by a halfling. The only reason we were able to fend them off is because it looks like they had already hit another ship. They appeared to have prisoners."
qwerty71 |
seems my post from yesterday did not make it.
"Seems you came across Pirate Lord Rebo and his band of cutthroats. Lucky for you they 'let' you leave. Usually they sink vessels when they can. Well you Mitrans are lucky indeed. Regardless I have to do the kings bidding and check the ship quickly and then heave to and search for the Red Dagger if you remember the direction it sailed towards. Sgt conduct a quick search and then let us depart."
His men move towards the canvas flaps covering the ships cargo.
Wade Willhelm v2 |
"our luck was indeed good" he says clasping the man's shoulder, appearing to be exhausted, when/if they see any weapons he channels his touch of death through his hand and says "but apparently not good enough, [dice]1d6+1+1[dice]
if he doesn't let him touch him, but nonetheless find contraband I have a plan C, though I do like what it says about wade that his primary tactic seems to be sticking a metaphorical knife in the back of someone who believes themselves to be allied with him, using a false show of friendship to twist said metaphorical knife
Delilah Vae |
Delilah readies an action to cast Shield of Faith the second things go south.
Bracnos |
Bracnos walks up to wade and enters a dramatic coughing fit "fater please the pain *coughs *coughs *coughs *coughs*hel *coughs*gel me" He drops to a knee still coughing Bluff: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13

well with a shot ^_^
Edit
dammit and I just remembered if we would have just hade a yellow flag flying they would have stayed away since that means that there is a plague on a ship....oh well

@Delilah- yes as soon as you saw Wade do his shoulder attack you cast your spell so that occurred in Wade's semi-private surprise round. will sort all your actions out in a bit.

Ah well, so much for trickery. Stupid soldiers just can't seem to have any initiative and go chase the "bigger threat".
Razul will flank the Captain with Wade and attack.

Delilah looks at the sailor adjacent to her and begins to cast a spell.
Ear-Piercing Scream
You unleash a powerful scream, inaudible to all but a single target. The target is dazed for 1 round and takes 1d6 points of sonic damage per two caster levels (maximum 5d6). A successful save negates the daze effect and halves the damage.
Okay, firstly I'm casting defensively.
Concentration: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (7) + 9 = 16
Or nevermind. I missed the cast defensively DC by 1. I lose the spell.

you forgot a +1 to damage from the bleading wounds revalation Wade steps five feet to the side to flank with one of his other party members saying "oh poor you, you were tricked and are going to die, get over it, that doesn't make you special"1d20 + 8 ⇒ (10) + 8 = 18+2 if I can get someone to flank with 1d10 + 7 ⇒ (9) + 7 = 16
qwerty71 |
OK so Wade and Razu drop the knight before he gets his sword out. @Delilah are you sure you failed the concentration check? What level spell?
Delilah Vae |
1st level spell. DC is 15 + double spell level, so I had to hit 17. I rolled 16.
Although, now that I look at it, I may have neglected to update my skills when we hit level 3. Looking at it now, I should have a +10 to Concentration (3 from level, 5 from Cha, 2 from Focused Mind) so that would be enough to barely make it.
In that case, he needs to make a DC 16 Fort save to negate the daze and halve the damage.
damage: 1d6 ⇒ 1
If he fails his save, I'll move out of reach toward the aft of the ship. Otherwise I'll be staying here.

Kingsman FORT Sv: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (11) + 2 = 13and the Kingsman is dazed...
Bracnos tears into the one closest to him for damage, and while he severly bloodied the man, he is not down. Syldran and Lillith both miss with their attacks. In a manner of seconds, the Kingsman leader is downed, bleeding out, another of their number is severely wounded and they are beset on all sides with foes.

As the party is killing the Kingsman aboard the Frosthamer Kargeld instructs his men to target the King vessel with fire arrows. Eventually the party kills the last enemies as 2 were dazed and two were surrounded...(They were only 1st level mooks)
After the battle concludes, the party finds 4 gp from each Kingsman aboard the Frosthamer and 22 gp from their leader (total 38 gp). The leader also had breastplate, a MW longsword, and a heavy steel shield. Kargelds men begin dumping the bodies overboard and tossing the lesser weapons the Kingsmen had.
Wade Willhelm v2 |
"Everyone, quickly take out the men on the boat! Crewmen! Make yourself useful and remove the flaming arrows and put out the fires, while we take out their source![/b]"
Wade charges over the gangplank and takes out the closest fighter
oh, whoops yeah "what the hell are you doing? We could use that boat as an escort if it has cannons those cannons alone could be extreamly valueable if you are going to help then shoot the people directly, otherwise leave this the f$!@ alone"
Delilah Vae |
Delilah saunters up from the aft.
"Wade, darling, we're trying to be stealthy. A royal escort isn't exactly going to achieve that. Besides, you know King Markadian's soldiers aren't the type to just let us pass because there's an official ship with us."
She smiles sweetly heads back to her usual position on the ship.
qwerty71 |
"Back off!" Kargeld tells Wade and the others. "I was contracted to get you to your destination and i will. No use leaving evidence that we were here if that boat made it back to a naval base. Also We don't need another boat. Can't sell it, all the ports around here know that vessel. Best to let everyone think it is still out at sea. No use keeping any evidence of the crimes committed. I suggest sinking his breastplate and sword. Better that than one of you foolishly wear it or try to sell it and someone recognizing them. Now you seadogs, I want to leave in quickly, get to work!" He mutters something under his breath as he leaves Wade and the others.
