I agree that he has to die, but it is not now. He is still needed to get us across the lake to Aldencross. Then...he can be eliminated. Those are our orders.
Szordrin takes a few steps away looking at the uncivilized mob that is the army of Sakkarot.
So we can help increase the size of this army and then we sail for Aldencross, where we can take care of the captain.

The map has a crude depiction drawn in charcoal of where to go to get to the tribe in question. It is drawn on animal skin and still smells having not been properly cured. But it will function to get you where you need to go. You figure it will be a days travel to reach the location.

We go, we scout, and then we make plans. We might also see if the captain would hire a couple of his men out for the expedition, it would make it easier on us if they didn't return.

The group follows the map and go over the ridge. It takes a while to get to the X marked on the map and moving as quietly as possible the group sees bugbear patrols and hunting parties off in the distance. It seems your bugbear accomplice chose the right direction to travel on as no bugbear patrols come close to your group. At the end of the first day the group comes to a clearing and then see the reason for the lack of humanoid activity as animal and humanoid skulls and bones are hanging up in the trees as warnings to others to stay away from the area, a common sign of witch-craft markings. Although you encountered no witches and the only person who told you of this route was Sakkarot you surmise all of it is just a ruse on the bugbear war chiefs end. You can detect smoke trails from a controlled fire just beyond the trees and realize you have found the rebellious bugbears camp which is away from his followers camp. new map in link

before approaching, of course, Alaric will ask, "Does anyone have anything that might helps us approach without sound or sight being a factor? Perhaps some kind of magic?" ie silence spell or invisibility?

Figured I'd try and post in at least a bit since I've managed to sit down for a few minutes. Have we rested?

Most of my spells are quite obvious or aid one in combat, perhaps I could could find one for more... subtle use. I wouldn't make a promise though.

Hmph, I'd rather fight them, and break their spirit as they realize they could never hope to win. Much better way of breaking someone.

Have you come up with a course of action for the assault on the bugbears....If you need me to, I am more than capable of formulate an assault plan.

I don't think we have any invisibility or silence... so I guess charging in is our only recourse.. perhaps we can try being sneaky at first, charge in when and if the sneak fails or the first attack lands.

Alaric heads over towards the nearest Bugbear, sneaking of course...

stealth: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14

plan is to grapple then pin him, but if that fails, we'll see what happens, not a particularly inspiring stealth roll... maybe they won't be too observant.

Thinking on Saulric's suggestion of a distraction. Elisa could slip down behind one of the tents and use her alchemists fire to get a blaze going before we go for this guard?

Is she does it on the bottom most tent the guard would be moving close passed us and set up for ambush.

OK. I've moved Elisa to where she will be setting the fire. She used the trees for cover and moved behind the tents. If it's possible she will throw the Alchemist fire at the back of the tent then withdraw into the trees again. If not she will stealth to the back of the tent and set the fire. The rest of the party is waiting for our target to move when the fire draws attention.

Just give the word and Elisa starts the fire.

Saulric gives Elisa the word and she scampers off to start the fire on the back end of the tent. The bugbears begin to shout orders at each other moving around as the ogres stand still as if confused... the pink bugbear makes movements that he is going behind the tent to his front to get to the fire...
