The dwarf raises an when the knight offers to have the girls accompany them. He grumbles "That isn't an idea that would be wise in any regard. The girls will need to stay here. They can't leave the keep until we remove the old lord's son anyhow. Find them a room that is less confined and let's be on our way."
Thrand removes the magical dagger from the girls grasp as she is still stunned and not moving, he gently places his dagger into her hand and she regains her senses, nods her head and goes to sit down on one of the beds.

Thrand gives the magical dagger to Tanariel. He leaves the servants his signal horn as well, and reassures them that he will return. Then he follows Ollok out of the room ready to explore the rest of the octagon on this level before heading upstairs. "Ollok, please lock them in again."

So where to now? You have a magical dagger which Tanariel will tell the group is a minor magical dagger (only +1). YOu can go upstairs, continues searching this floor, or go tot the kitchen to look for the way down...
The group lock the women back into their hiding place and Ollok checks the room to the south. He detects no traps and opens the door. It is another room of quarters, but appears to have been ransacked with items thrown about. Tanariel detects no magic in this room. With a little bit of clean up the room would be quite useful if the party needed a bed down location in the future.

The knight replies, "Yes, my lady. Let us go upstairs to the lord's chambers and see about opening that chest. Ollok, please be so kind as to lead the way.
Ollok leads them up the stairs that are in this area. They appear to be the back house stairs. The stairs lead to a second floor landing with some hunting head trophies mounted including birds of prey, foxes, wolves, moose and others. A stuffed brown bear sits on its haunches in the corner of this room, fangs bared and glaring at the top of the stairs. The plaque at the bottom reads "Mad bear killed by Lord and eldest son. Was terrorizing farmers and livestock."
Arendyl identifies the bear as a dire bear. Ollok stops at a door on the east wall of the landing.
Ollok detects no traps at the door and easily springs the lock opening the door. A table with a pair of chairs occupies the southern half of this room. Tapestries depicting devils tearing each other apart with spears and claws cover the eastern wall. Beneath it, a long wooden rack holds a number of different weapons for use by guards (spears, swords).
There is another door to the south and the door to the north is broken off its hinges and hacked...
Ollok walks through the doorway as Tanariel scans for magic auras...the elf senses a faint aura around the corner of the hallway in front of Ollok.
Ollok peers around the corner and notices another undead soldier standing in front of a room. The undead is not doing anything but just standing there.

"Not easy to quickly kill one of those things. But they also ain't likely to call for help. Maybe hit with an arrow and move out of sight. Do that until it comes round the corner where we can get rid of it easily or you sink enough arrows in it so that it falls."

Tzardusk nods and lifts his crossbow to fire at the undead

Both Thrand and Tzardusk hit the creature drawing its attention towards them and it lumbers down the hallway until Arendyl finishes it off with a well placed arrow.

Tzardusk keeps his crossbow in his hands as he moves toward Ollok, staying a few paces back, and waits for the door to be opened. He remains watchful as the door is opened.
Ollok checks the door and determines it is not locked nor does it have any mechanical traps due to the fact that the door knob is broken off as if by an axe and claw marks litter the door frame. He also points out the door was left slightly ajar. He is still unsure why the undead was unable to enter the room though. He pushes the door open and sees a bedroom it for a Lord of a castle.

Thrand smiles and sighs from the experience of walking through the doorway. He thinks, "That was pleasant. I wonder if the villagers would mind me dislodging the threshold and installing it in a castle of my own making." He scans the room for any threats to his mistress's safety. As usual, he sees nothing.
Ollok moves to follow the others but he is not allowed to pass through the door. Struggle as he might an invisible force denies him entry into the room. The others notice this as well.
