You have managed to secure passage aboard a ship, Wyr’enshaad. This cargo vessel is headed north and currently the last of the supplies that will get the ship to the Central Kingdoms without further need for making port. As you approach the ship and ascent the gangplank, you see a small crew of Tengu come out of the hold and continue loading up supplies, crates of various size along with other crew-members. You do see a few familiar faces, some of the ambitious folks you met earlier in town before the brawl. You have little time before you are under way as you make ready to venture forth.

Rosalyn talks to the peace keepers when they come, explained the events of the fight. They seemed happy with her explanation and after making a sworn statement, in whitch she pointed out the gang leader of the docks. She shows them her travel documents and letters of refinance. She is told to make her way to her soon to depart ship and never come back. The Wyr’enshaad seems a nice ship, and she sees some familer faces when she gets on and makes her way to her repaid cabin.

Thoyoitu, meanwhile, slipped quietly out the window while Rosalyn had the guards distracted and ran across the rooftops to hide in a backally by the docks. Hours later, a man approaches him telling him that some Tengu were looking for him, leading him to the ship, where he helps his fellow Tengu load supplies.

Is this right, GM?

"Hey boss," one of the tengu says, We couldn't find a ship ta give us passage that we could afford' cept this one. 'S just a cargo ship, but there's room in the hold for all o' us and we can earn our passage by working the ship. Enough o' us know our way around a ship ta be able ta work an most o' it ain't too hard ta figure out." So your people have found you passage, and once you get north you can still have some capital to start anew. SO far today is looking up after the bar-brawl.

A-all right ya scurvy bastards, git this anchor up and this ship moving afore it forgets how ta float! Hoist the name and release the mooring lines. We been at port to damn long! a drow steps from the captain's quarters and starts shouting orders at his crew. He sees a few folks standing around, and yells, You there, get that line dressed! Hop to it! to nobody in particular, yet still expecting it to get done.

The ship is soon sailing across the sea, the drow lounging on the sterncastle as his pilot maintains the bearings.

On the ship, there's a few actions you can take akin to the Skulls and Shackles system. Any and all actions will affect what happens on the ship. You can meet crewmen, work socialize and try to improve crew attitudes, work, explore the ship. This is mostly RP and getting used to the system. Let me know what you want to do and I'll give details.

Lela doesn't seem to take the poor excuse of a smile personally, and instead shrugs and points to the hulking figure stomping around in the back. "Be polite. He'll want to make sure it dont' go attackin' his animals. but if yea can give him a reason ta give Nekare free movement he might... He's an enormous bald man but when he turns there are some distinctly non-human features about him, beyond looking like he'd stand nearly 8 feet tall were he not hunched over. He exudes a nearly overwhelming oder of garlic, spices and herbs, a veritable walking poopourri. He slams what looks to be a Large sized hand-axe down, slicing through a leg-bone of some animal as he hums off-key to homself keeping rhythm with the Chop-Chop-Chop of the blade.

How do you approach and what do you say?

Rosalyn:
The stern-castle is above deck, so there's not really anywhere for Desela to come into, but...
Heh, life's never dull out here. The dark one ever beneath us waiting to swallow us whole. Reavers and ravagers just o'er the horizon. But there may be words worth sparing. The captain says far more calmly now that they are underway. He smokes from a pipe and a sickeningly sweet aroma wafts up. "Butchey'll be sending his girl up to my cabin with a meal shortly. . . the man doesn't know what reasonable portions look like, and I'd be willin ta entertain yea." After some chatting the captain finishes his pipe, ashes it on the rail of the stern-castle and steps down.[/b] He opens the door to his quarters for you as there is a dumbwaiter there that will bring up a meal and steps in behind you.
This sounds like an Influence action, so please toss me a diplomacy check

If the captain is busy and wants me to come back later, that's fine. I don't need to interupt the rest of the party's thing. It can wait :) I just honestly wasn't sure what to do, so I just pulled something from the top of my head.

Victor:
As you scurry below deck, careful to not get your plague on anything, you see a woman. She gasps as you approach, Well I never! Tavian really did bring a RAT onto his ship. SHe looks you over briefly with piercing hazel eyes, "I guess you are rather enormous if one thinks of you as a rodent, but you're no vermin at all. What have you got there, little one?" SHe drops down to your eye level pointing to your alchemical kit. She had darker skin like that of a southern desert-dweller and wears a long dark-blue frock-coat Hair a long dark windswept tangle. She seems to have over-come her initial shock that you are a ratfolk but is still appraising you.

Not at all. You were jsut working for a good chunk of the afternoon, so you would arrive later. But what they talk about and the results of their checks will affect the captain's mood and reaction to you. You could instead wait till the night action to talk to him and present your thanks, in which case you can keep working and jsut char with the people, or try to Influence as well. I'll try to get those rules for ship actions posted today on the front page, but that's not super critical right now, I have work in a bit and have to get ready.

Basic Ship Actions Rules:

You have 2 actions per day on a ship, Day action and Night action.
You also may have a task to perform which needs to be done during the day action, and will have a skill check associated with it.
Day actions
Work Diligently: +4 to the task you are assigned
Influence: Roll diplomacy to affect the attitude of an NPC, or meet new NPC's and set/determine starting attitude
Explore: No check needed but you can get info on the ship

Night Actions:
Rest: if you fail at your task, you will be fatigued and remain so until you take a rest action
Influence: Same as above
Explore: same as above
Gamble: play one of several games you can find to make money

more may be added

Work is specifically to get a bonus on your task check, so no. You could use an explore or influence action tho, rolling perception to watch people or diplomacy to talk to them.

The captain is a full drow, and as such isn't particularly interested in a real friendship with some half-breed, but does find Dez's antics amusing. alas, we be parting ways when we next make land, yell be in a small coastal town in the central kingdoms. Meeting a caravan there with these supplies, and send ya on yet way. he doesn't have any stories about this coming port, but he does tell you about an amusing game of poker he played in the last port you just left where he won by playing 3 hands over the course of 2 hours, all psychology.

About his faith, Tavian doesn't worship. Others on the ship do, but he believes that all on the sea live at the whim of the Deep One. Part of the main nautical pantheon, it's the unnamed god that lives under the sea and is the father of sea-monsters. He venerates it, sacrafices to it, and fears it. Doesn't volunteer why, and avoids actually talking about his god.

Hezala raises an eyebrow. A flu? yave you received any treatment? If you are contagious then close-quarters on a ship are dangerous. We have a makeshift sick-bay on the bottom deck, and I can see what i can do... she seems concerned, as a sickness can spread quickly through a ship and must be contained. I have some medical expertise, perhaps I can assist you? She seems confused as to why you, a Plague Doctor, would have a flu, and maybe a little condescending about an unwell healer, but is mostly concerned with preventing a sickness on the ship she is on.

Pyre
One of the crewmen points you to the First Mate, standing up on the forecastle with the pilot now that the captain seems to have retired. Unlike the captain, who seems to be a right salty blighter, and a hard, weather-worn man, the Mate is tall and lithe Drow that seems very ill at ease in the light, even as it fades. The Mate replies to you Well, these waters are still warm, heated by Daystar's passage, so there are sharks and any number of other monsters that like teh temperate climes. Much better they than the abominations that dwell in the frigid North, but still dangerous. Then there's pirates, and these easy waters are full of merchant vessels traveling north and south. The islands west of here are rife with pirates, and this is the most dangerous part of the journey. Still most won't bother attacking, and only the stupid or the terrifyingly strong. The Mate shrugs as though he doesn't much care. If attacked it's someone lot likely to be a real threat, or someone strong enough there'd be no real chance to resist.

Goandai
The half Ogre ponders a moment then says You a hob-what? before looking at the wolf. You keep two rope lines on it. It attacks each rope is pulled opposite ways. She's really not sure what to do about you, breaking the rules of disease as far as she knows it. Intrigued but also somewhat scared by the idea, she's definitely seen disease claim lives. Well, there is certainly a few bunks around. Arrangements for your group haven't been nailed down, but there's by far the most space in the sickbay. And if you are experimenting nobody would disturb you there. She takes you down a deck and shows you a room with some medical supplies a couple hammocks, a couple sturdy tables. THere are some old bloodstains, likely the work of the ship surgeon/carpenter having had to remove limbs. It's very clean for a ship medical space tho, and it could be used as a decent lab space, as she said. Then there's a few wind-gods that everyone prays to for one thing or another. Then the Pirate King and Queen. There is also a single Pomegranate on the tray for after dinner but even for al of you there may not be room for it after.
