Ptolus Nights and Dungeon Days (Inactive)

Game Master Lord Thasmudyan

A city of mysteries, secrets, and dark histories, Ptolus lies forever in the shadow of a towering stone spire reaching impossibly high into the sky, an enigma and reminder of evil long past.

Fixing him up from a previous game...

Dark Archive

heh just realized you are one of my original players from the game that I ran 2 years ago on here Tony. Glad to see someone from that game back. Make sure on you update your character's god to reflect the setting gods. Also you have two traits and a background. background from Ptolus is cool but you need one more trait I am treating the backgrounds as something extra.

For everyone else make sure you include a Ptolus background from the player's guide

Alright, added the Ptolus background of Squire.

Ah, right, you're using the Ptolus backgrounds as one of the three traits: I missed that, will update shortly.

No I think we get 3 traits plus the Ptolus background

Oh, even easier to update, thanks Berenzen.

I have updated now.

Also, Lord T, I have some spaces in my profile for the name of a Lothian Saint, a village in the rural hinterland where I night come from and the name of a highly addictive mind-altering narcotic.

If you accept Rain then it should just take a post or two to come up with them or tweak it a bit.

Setting up the alias.

Okay so just looking over what been submitted

The group which is probably just all going to be approved as soon as I hear a for sure on two players consist of:

Caldor Brehgan (Male, Aasimar Separtist Cleric of Lothian)[need your gear to be finished and add a background from the player's guide]
Antonio "Tony" Nedraid (male Human Swashbuckler Rogue) [see last post for what you need to complete and a background]
Davina of the Pale (Female, Angelkin Aasimar Paladin of Vengence of Lothian) [your done as far as I saw except for adding a background from the player's guide]
Rain Scrimshaw (Male Musetouched Aasimar Ninja) [everything looks good on yours as well except for adding a background from the player's guide]
Rorrath (Catfolk Warden Ranger) [looks good except for adding a background from the player's guide]
Rosemary-Anne Thyme (Female, Half Orc Fighter) [looks good except for adding a background from the player's guide]
Ayaki (Female, Kitsune Bard) [looks good except for adding a background from the player's guide]
Daulic Stilinisti (Male, Human Rogue) [looks good except for adding a background from the player's guide]

Only problem I am seeing is too many roguish types in the group and no arcane characters except Ayaki which is going to be limited because Bard are not straight up caster types. Otherwise the party would be fine and I am willing to approve all eight just incase down the line some drop out. Don't get me wrong all three rogues are good solid characters the group needs straight up caster

If they're accepting of Half-Orcs, Rosemary-Anne will be in the City Watch guard so she can find information on her missing family members.

Otherwise, she can be an Arena fighter for money. And she was a bartender, if that can take the place of the laborer background.

I can go between those three easily.

Half-orcs are accepted but rare...orcs not so much

yes this is correct.

I was wondering about the backgrounds. Thanks for the info. I have updated him to include the stablehand occupation as it was the most likely for him based on his class & skills.

That's what I thought. Ptolus surprised me with that, since other sources seem to have them as intolerable.

I went with City Guard as my background, but whatever works better for your story I can happily go with it.

edit:

...like Arena fighter.

no that fine Capt, it fits and is cool with me

And just when I feel good about doing a ranger you tell us that we need a caster. Lol! If nobody steps up with one I will make a second version of the catfolk to be a sorcerer. I will do some minor tweaking of the background and see what I can come up with.

Whoops, missed taking a background from the PG entirely. Added Temple Acolyte to Daulic's stats.

And I can post another version of Rosemary-Anne as a Magus.

actually I was looking more at the characters Rain, Tony and Daulic. All three of these are rogues or variant rogues, Rain be an extreme variant that stands out more so because he is a Ninja. I don't care who plays a caster but for party balance and so you have some sort of arcane capabilites beyond Ayaki I would suggest someone does. having a ranger in the group that is good at tracking and a urban style one to boot great idea.

Yeah, I'm tooling up a sorceress right now that can be an alternate. I never get tired of playing arcane classes, I just rolled up a Paladin because I thought it might be nice to try something new.

Your pali is fine again more concerned about too many rogues in the party not your pali

Now that I think of it, I am really fond of my ranger. I am just going to stick with him. I spent some time crafting that background and spent even more time tying it to the ranger class.

Liberty's Edge

Is it too late to get into this game?? Not sure if you have closed the selection yet. Was looking to play a sorcerer/cleric with thoughts of becoming a Mystic Theurge. Can have him worked up tonight. I also own Ptolus and have run some adventures there, if that is a plus!!

OK, think I'm set...

Give me a day or two and I'll come up with a sorcerer or wizard instead of Daulic. I can probably transfer a lot of the background stuff. :)

I've given Rain the artisan's apprentice background: he's got +2 to craft: beer (given the right tools he has +5 on his check, which seems like a fairly gifted apprentice).

I'm pretty excited about beginning again in Ptolus.

Unfortunately I am calling it at the eight I already have, but thanks for your interest.

Thanks Samnell, We will move the discussion over to the OOC thread for now post it here or there once complete I will hold off on starting the game till you post the new version

Since half-orcs are tolerated, I probably won't get much use out of the 'pass for human' feat. It won't be necessary. Rosemary will get more out of 'Persuasive'. Since we haven't started, can I change that?

go for it Capt

Lord T wrote:

That should take care of the adopted trait's requirement for a social stat. Of course, she has no diplomacy, but those will come in time. For now, baring her teeth and growling at her opponents should suffice, right?

Who's the face-man of the group?

Samnell's wizard, reporting for duty.

The Exchange

my post is in the discussion tread

I think I'm going to have to pull out of this one guys. Too many issues to juggle RL right now, sorry.

Capt- Davina has a +9 to Diplomacy, though not to any of the other skills.

no worries Caldor

hey as long as its legal I am cool with it...

CMJ wanted to know who was a party face. I was just saying, I can handle diplomacy, but if you want my character to lie/scare people, look to someone else.

Do you still need a Cleric or an Arcane caster? Saw you had someone pull out.
