Ack! Sorry to hear that Mundin. It's been very enjoyable gaming with you. Guess I'll have to pick on Aero now ;)
Can probably take" haul unconscious paladin out of water" now as a.class skill. Or at least get a familiarity bonus. Or heaven forbid a 'drowning Aerodus kit'+ 2circumstance bonus to save the paladin.
Prof, question for you.. as Shisa had her dagger out.. do I assume that it's at the bottom of the river or did the snake happen to pin it against the body when it coiled?.. or would she have (assumed) sheathed it before trying to latch on to the paly? I didn't specify prior to the grapple attempt, so I'm curious.

Sorry to see you go, but when RL rears its ugly head you have to heed the call! Thanks for playing, and thanks for making the effort to let us know you're off (not just vanishing...). You'll be welcome back any time if your circumstances change. Cheers!

Let's just assume she put it away to do the grapple. A dagger dropping to the riverbed just lacks the pathos of the paladin's sword doing the same thing (in slow motion, with sad 'it's all over' music playing in the background)... ;)

Not to mention it's more satisfying to rag on the Paladin for letting his sword drop to the riverbed :)
I've had a think and, to be honest, the Adventure Path is designed for four anyway, so you're still technically full-strength as far as encounters and stuff go. The are some suggestions in the book for how to fit in new PCs on the island, but to be honest if it's not needed it seems like something of a stretch to me - and takes something away from the whole 'isolated away from civilisation' vibe (hey, another ship just crashed with another PC level character as the sole survivor... what a coincidence! Nah...). As long as we avoid any more attrition I'd prefer to see how the four of you manage. We can always recruit for the next book in the AP if that's what people want when we get there... although at the speed of PbP that may be sometime around 2012... ;)
I know what you mean by the pacing. I'm running a Savage Tide game [Warforged Gardener's Savage Tide here] and we're on track to finish sometime in 2023.
Meanwhile we better make nice to our only NPC Cleric!
The intensity of the combats with the rock crab on the Jenivere and the recent one with the snake in the river are high points for me. As is the way you all willing follow a paladin with a high diplomacy and naff abilities in so many other ways - swimming, fighting in water, perception.

I salute you!
We have to follow the paladin.. you know how whinny they can get.. they tend to mope too. ;) *waits patiently for Aero's good-natured retort*
Glad to have you aboard.. pour a stiff drink.. I'll get Aero into trouble sooner or later :)
Oh, I see how it is Aero.. you trust the 'guys' but not me. Uh huh.. good ol' boys club. See if I spot anymore boats for you. Hmph!
<insert indignant witch elf look here>
Tony: Funny that you mention the Savage Tide thread, as that is what first got me interested in PbP's, and.. as I was stalking.. what part of OR, you in? (Im a Salem/Scio) person myself.
Note: Time for perception take 10s... better than my rolls..
sadly enough.. while getting ready for work and thinking about this.. I'm wondering if Aerodus isn't near/far-sighted. I mean with all the bad perception rolls, perhaps he has a vision problem and needs glasses (or magical healing). Hrm.. some RP possibilities there if this were a tabletop :)
