Oh, and by the by, for all those searching for door bars - there is the remains of a previously shattered door bar, but nothing to use at the moment, no.

As to door width - think big double doors as you may get on a grand hall (or, in crunchiness terms for those who insist, they're a little under two squares wide...).

So can we act on that information now or... Bahrim will want the group to scramble up the stairs... High ground for worst case scenario and better defncively all round I think.

Forgot to mention - you can post your next set of actions too - don't have to just roll the dice I asked for. Feel free to chuck in some if/then options as well if you want: the more info. you give, the closer I'll (hopefully) get to describing your character doing what you want him (or her) to be doing.

Cool, then my last post should be perfect then!

...I should really start checking this board before I post in the PBP '-_-

The Exchange

Just a couple of minor notes (or clarifications if you prefer) for future reference:

Them being prone gives them an AC penalty, it doesn't give you guys a bonus on attack rolls - it's a minor, but significant, difference.

When rolling for multiplied damage (e.g. confirmed criticals) I prefer to go with the book and roll the damage multiple times, not to roll once and multiply (too many freak results that way).

The only 'orc' present is Yousef - nice critical on him Bahram!!! Bwahahahah!!! No... don't worry, I know what you really meant (you... uh... you weren't aiming at Yousef... right?)... ;)

Don't worry about anything you've posted already - like I said, for future reference.

lol NO!
Didnt realize we were facing bugbears, must have been speed-reading ;)
I was hoping for a shot at the slaver if I'm close enough but I'm more than content to reach any enemy. Don't fully realize how far I'm away...

Grease is going to last for 1 minute, unless there is errata or something Im unaware of. Not sure if I can end the spell prematurely, and since it is a conjuration It might stay even if I do end it. I don't have a book in front of me. I'm going to assume Its there to stay unless im told otherwise.

The Exchange

Just to make sure: Rashid's ignoring the animated statue trying to bash his skull in..?

Withdrawing more likely... Going out the door?

Grease is 1 min/level duration. It's conjuration (creation) - meaning the grease is really there, but has a duration, so it's 'held together by magic'. It's also a (D) 'dismissible' spell, so Lavender can dismiss it as a standard action.

Apologies. I was thinking of the 3.5 version, which was 1 round per level :-/

you may want to try the PRD. its the 3rd link from top. i use it alot. not always easy to use since have to scroll some.

Kinda' waiting for Saul's actions - 'cos they'll have an effect on both Yousef's and Keldar's actions (or results of actions) too. After all, Saul's just reached the guy, he's yet to stop him or anything - Yousef's 40 ft behind them (and his finger isn't that long for poking purposes ;) ).

Maybee Saul doesn't have internet access during weekends?

The Exchange

Just a gentle note: it's generally not a good idea to assume your character actually hits the guy he's aiming at. I know NPCs are beneath PC contempt, but lets give 'im a fair chance, okay? ;)

I'll post a roll for Saul's grapple attempt and go from there.

Male Human Barbarian

Oops, sorry, I went off of Yousef's post, assuming since he was talking, I would talk lol. I can edit that posts and just tackle him. Or try.

And I apologize about not posting, I had to work 18 hours on Thursday and 17 on Friday. Only had to work 8 yesterday. I'm off today and will try and keep up as much as possible.

Ouch! Can ask what you do for a living?

Yeah - the order stuff happens in can get a bit confused when doing the PbP thing: you'll note I mixed up the interrogation a bit to account for the fact Saul got to the guy quite a lot before Yousef did. It's not always a good idea to assume that what someone else has posted will always come to pass either - not before I've done my DM bit and pretended to roll lots of dice... I mean rolled lots of dice... yes, that was it... ;) On the other hand, if there's no real chance of rolls being involved, then yeah, go ahead and take what's posted as what's happened. It'll always be a bit tricky (e.g. you may assume opening a door is 'automatic', but it turns out there's a nasty trap which then goes off), but I'll try my best to consolidate all the PC posts into something that makes sense when I do a DM post.

Of course, the more PCs communicate in character the easier it'll be too (like the bit with Rashid 'knowing' what Lavender figured about the statue) - remember there's no 'team telepathy' in place! Just a few quirks of my DMing style. :)

Not a problem - I just stuck up a post to explain why I wasn't updating the game, wasn't a dig or anything: after all, I know that RL is the enemy!

Male Human Barbarian

I'm a police officer.

Yeah freakin RL... I tell ya...

I'm not gonna lie, I'm having a ton of fun with Saul. I though playing a character like this would be boring... but his Saul skills, or the lack thereof make for some quality entertainment.

The Exchange

If I get a consensus that it might be worth keeping this man alive, Lavender adds this:

Didn't add this bit, 'cos I wasn't detecting much consensus in the room...

Is this the time to start guessing each other's alignments? :)

By the way, some excellent posts guys - really enjoyable stuff!

Male Human Barbarian

New post by Saul... hehe, guess his alignment now.

I am a character sheet peeker, so I already know. I haven't chosen Yousef's yet, but I am leaning towards one.

The Exchange

I have a feeling that Bahram needs to learn how to take 10 on occassion... ;) (you can generally do it in 'non-stressful' situations).

oooh! Of course. Can't believe I forgot that.
Will you allow me to do that or is it to late?

The Exchange

I'll allow it just this once... otherwise I went to the effort to write that spoiler for nothing! ;)

cheers!

The Exchange

Hah! Keldar's gone 'Hudson' (I think that was the one) from 'Aliens'... 'Game over, man! Game over...' :)

m dwarven page 18 druid 5th

yea, i figure hes feeling a little overwhelmed. been a slave for awhile, so probably hasnt spoken much, now here he is trying to escape and every where he turns is a BBEG, least to him,

The Exchange

Yeah - it's good stuff! Although now I can't help but picture him launching off Fire Bolts as they get swarmed by angry gnolls: 'You want some, huh? You want some too? Come get some!'

This made me chuckle!

heh..
the guy just isn't THAT experienced, though he may not be as much of a rebel as he thinks he is either. The relative safety of his silk bed is quite aluring to him these days.

Well, as long as you do not rely on Yousef for romantic advice, you should be fine ;-)

I just want to make sure that people realise that my sometimes eccentric posting times are due to the fact that I am 14 hours ahead of US East Coast time :-)

And I just thought it was that dwarf move speed you had ;D

Also, I must have watched too many Adam Sandler movies, because I honestly thought that that stain on the door was from some monkey marking its territory with feces or something.

LOL I was thinking the same! Paid it no heed until I read the perception spoiler.

Edit, Untill Rashid mentioned it actually.

Not a marble slab, a marble (i.e. the small, hard, ball used by children as toys - often made of glass) made out of sandstone.

lol, my bad.

Too much 'marble' by far in my descriptions of this guildhall... ;)

Well, you could go and try to 'make friends' with the baboons, if you like :-)

In real life they have been used as guard-animals, and the concept of co-opting a small tribe of them to run-amok through the town has a certain appeal ;-)

I would suggest that we clear-out this room, and deal with the remaining bugbear first, though...

a hoard of baboons, scary. rather have the aliens.

Don't leave me hanging Proffessor.
This is probably the stupidest thing I have ever done in my rpg life! Can't wait to see how it turns out!

Forget Yousef, Bahram is the one one need to keep an eye on from now on, for when it comes to Doing Stupidly Reckless Things (tm) :-P

ProfPotts wrote:

** spoiler omitted **

Turning back to the contract it's only now that Bahram realises that, like the glittering circle, the scroll too vanished in the arcane fire which signified the discharge of the spell... Bwahahahahah! :)

Meanwhile, Zaina frowns, glances at Yousef, and asks Bahram,

'Master... why is that half-human wearing your robes of office... and trying to smash his way into your store of highly volatile alchemical substances?'

Awesome!

heh, sorry...

Bahram isn't exacly lawful...

By the way.

Proffessor:

Spoiler:
Can you tell about the genie binder prestige class? I can get access to it in the module from a friend but was wondering how you want to play it.
