Muddy Bearclaw |
With a satisfied look on his face he steps over the, now completely dead body of the zombie and attacks the skeleton closest to him. Blythe, just hold on a little longer, having them surrounded, I guess that these ones will not bother us for long.

Mels blow is just enough to beat the life out of the undead creature and the rotten bones once again fall back into the earth.
Firesnap bears the holy symbol of Brigh and suddenly a wave of holy energy spreads across the field and the zombie crumbles to dust but the skeleton still stands.
Dog snaps out at the skele but has no luck.
Muddy swings his flail one last time smashing the skeletons rib cage into pieces and it falls back to the ground.
With the last of the undead felled the wailing grows louder and sends chills down your spine.
146xp each. I use my own method of Calculating xp if you were wondering.
Oro: 8/15
Blythe: -4/6

For a first combat, this one was a doozy. The creatures were hard to kill, but at least we were in one piece. Except for Blythe, who looked in bad shape. The creatures seemed to focus on me at times, but that was good. My reflexes had held, and I was able to protect the other members of the group. But the past was already the past. I yelled at the others.
Can anyone help Blythe? She looks pretty bad off. When she's ready to move, lets get indoors, maybe. This sound has me on edge.
While waiting for the others, I searched around the zombies and skeletons nearest me, looking for anything of value.
Blythe Astor |
"Lets go" Blythe picks up her crossbow, making sure it's still loaded. She closes her eyes a moment casts Light and her hand begins to glow. She touches the bolt in the crossbow, and the glow transfers to it.
Oropher Helyan |
Blythe was up and moving... good. I was worried for a while there. Alright, lets get out of this courtyard. And this time, try and stay behind me.
I turned to the main building, and sought the nearest door. Once there, trying to drown out the noise coming from... wherever, I listened at the door for signs of what may be inside.
Perception: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (16) + 5 = 21
Having a hard time figuring out where the doors are on the map. Are the white patches of walls them? If so, I guess Oro'll head to V23.
Wareagle |
You cannot tell were the sounds come from but they do send shivers down your spine. You can hear nothing from within the building though it is hard to focus due to the eerie noises. Strangely the bodies of the undead seem to have vanished not even the old weapons remain.
Yes the white spaces on the walls are them...not very good with making maps :)
Oropher Helyan |
Damn this noise had me on edge. The thought of getting out of the courtyard was enticing, despite any dangers within. Well, at the least I can be careful. Try not to repeat the previous encounter. I dont know how much more healing that gnome can dole out.
Using the shield, I push the door, only as hard as I need to to get it to open slightly, peering in through the crack.
Dont know if its locked or not, gonna assume not. Lemme know if I'm wrong.
Blythe Astor |
Oropher Helyan |
Cant be too cautious. Not after that last encounter. The strange... stuff covering the floor had me on edge too. Just so much that didnt make sense. I used my sword to scrape some off the floor, careful to avoid stepping in it.
Turning to the two behind me, I held up the sword. Yelling at them, to get over the noise.
Anyone have any clue what this is? Seems to be covering the floor. Other than that, looks clear. Might also be some weapons in there, as it was a kitchen at some point.
Oh, and thanks Wareagle, for doing my rolls while I was gone.
Muddy Bearclaw |
Taking a few seconds to calm down after the last event, Muddy moves slowly against the wall, it gave the barbarian a feeling of security.
He hated dead things, it seams that everywhere he goes he just couldn't get away from them and the last thing he wanted at that moment was one of them catching him by surprise.
Pass the corner he saw a door, and opening he prepared his weapon and yelled a battle-cry "I will kill... " He saw Oropher and Blythe at the other exit. "Ah... it's you guys."

The strange "juices" melts the tip of your sword revealing that it is clearly some sort of acid. Before you can discern anything more, more acid falls from the ceiling right in front of Oro it forms into a pile and jumps out at him. The acid covers Oro and burns his flesh and skin dealing moderate damage though it does not effect his equipment any way. 8 damage to Oro.
You win a battle you go back in ;) Anyhow Init and action please and for the sake of this battle due to the fact enemy has reach have a mini map of room on the map too use that for this fight to make things a bit easier.
Oropher Helyan |
Init:1d20 + 5 ⇒ (12) + 5 = 17
So much for caution, lol 0hp
The acid came out of nowhere, burning me, etching the tip of my sword. It was all I could do to even stay conscious, with the noxious smell of my own burning skin in my nose.
Why does everything want to kill us? Ahh! We were sent to help you. Samos said use his name!
Muddy Bearclaw |
Not much I can do with my first turn, right? Anything other than a move causes me to lose 1hp. So I guess Oro will hold his ground, grit his teeth, and try not to pass out until Fire gets there. Oh! Can I defer until after the heal? Sorry for the questions, pretty new.
In theory I think you can delay the action... Anyway, you are being of tremendous help in this fight, you just don't know it yet. :)
Muddy Bearclaw |
Bearclaw couldn't believe his eyes when he saw that mass of slimy liquid starting to act on it's own. He seized the opportunity and slowly went towards it trying to flank it. The barbarian had no idea how dangerous it was or if his weapon will do something against it but one thing he knew he had to smash it before more will get hurt.
moving to 42V.
attack :1d20 + 7 ⇒ (15) + 7 = 22
damage1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
I Do believe that triggers an attack of opportunity but Oro and me will get a sweet +2 to attack
Wareagle |

Not that having higher hit really does anything it is next to impossible to miss and you can maneuver your way so it does not get an aoo.
The flail strikes hard against the ooze causing it to quiver the slightest bit it is impossible to tell you even hit it.
Oropher Helyan |
Gonna assume that I got Snap's heal, putting me at 8hp. So going from there... I take my deferred turn, putting me right behind Snap in the init order.
The healing took effect instantly. Snapping into attention, I saw that Muddy had moved around the creature. Well, cant pass up an opportunity.
Using my now etched blade, I swung at the mound of... something.
Attack=1d20 + 7 ⇒ (7) + 7 = 14
DMG=1d8 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
I believe the Ooze is up, following Mel's move. Sorry for the delay today.
Blythe Astor |
Wareagle |
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16
1d4 + 2 + 1d4 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (1) = 4
1d4 + 2 + 1d4 ⇒ (1) + 2 + (1) = 4
Sorry for the delay.
Oros blade easily slices through the strange ooze causing it to split in two making a identical ooze right next to it (Half the size of the original.) Oros blade looks in even worse condition.
Mel spends his whole round running to catch up with the rest.
The 2 smaller oozes jump at the nearest threat, one burns Muddys skin as the other misses it's mark. Muddy takes 6 damage and some burns.
Slyalvel also caught in shock spends his whole round moving to aid his buds.
Blythe lets loose a barrage of magic missiles witch hit into the oozes side causing the acid to spray everywhere.
Round 2.
Muddy Bearclaw |
After the burns, all his body was screaming in agony forcing him to flee but the barbarian grit his teeth and stood still preparing for another bash with his trusted flail which started to deteriorate. He knew that when or if he'll get back he would need to get another one.
Heh, if slashing and bashing does not work... Then, you need to slice and bash hardeeer! With that he unleashed an attack on the slime that was standing between him and Blythe, then slowly moving to towards the center of the room to avoid a future attack from it's twin brother or sister.
attack:1d20 + 7 ⇒ (20) + 7 = 27
damage:1d10 + 4 ⇒ (4) + 4 = 8
move to 41V
and since that's a crit... the damage is 16
Oropher Helyan |
Well, until someone comes up with something better... I dont suppose we can just leave?
I swung again, but this time, it was more of a reflex. I concentrated on keeping the shield in front of me, between me and the acid...blobs.
Fighting defensively. -4Attack, +2AC
