An ancient evil has erupted in the far reaches of the Moonsea the town of Phlan has fallen it is up to Foreign adventures to decide the fate of all of the Moonsea...
Figured that's what it was (though I'm not quite sure how you and Silaquay are affording all this expensive gear at 1st level, but I digress) but it still wouldn't give you 3 shots in one round bro, unless you were high enough level to have iterative attacks, and even then you'd still have to roll for each shot. Don't mean to be a pain, but the rules are the rules, no? Otherwise, if we're gonna play without them, I think next round I'll have Lomar cast an acidic, electrified, fireball! Yeah, I'd love to see them goblins stop That! ; D
on the repeating crossbow rules. it looks like it lets you fire shots and reload as a free action.
the rules on that get muddy (not the barbarian). looks like you would need wf crossbow, point blank shot, and rapid reload to accomplish what the crossbow does. and the feat rapid reload, gave a -2 to strike on both attacks.
I think the repeater functions as all those feats and still grants the -2 to strike. so ill give you 2 attacks at a -2 to hit.
as for the gold piece and equipment question. wareagle had given a 1000gp limit on his character rules.
oh and one other thing. the goblins arent visible yet. they havent made the entrance to the courtyard, or the gate even. i was waiting to see of anyone else was going to take ambush positions
Yes, that is correct, basically the repeating crossbow allows one to bypass getting all of those feats (GREAT deal for only 400gp and has left many crossbow specialists and pis$ed as $#$%), But, you still need to actually have more than one attack per round to be able to attack more than once a round with it. And we each got to start at level 1 with 1,000gp?? My bad then, as I totally missed that (and have some more shopping to do!!) Anyhoo, I haven't posted yet as I'm a little confused as to what exactly is going on. We're...somewhere on that map, on some goblins are somewhere about to do something? Does that about cover it? ; )
the party followed siloquay back to the entrance of the keep, when she arrived and informed them of the goblins untimely arrival.
the party stopped about 15 ft short of the old gates (square Q26 on the map). the party is on the east side of the entrance. the gobs are loudly marching towards the complex. they sound very very close at this point.
and shop away my brother. i wish i was on your end with a 1k limit to start. my tarloc was hooked up, until i changed him to dm status
Crouching down and doing his best to stay hidden, Lomar tries to seek out the goblin leader. If he finds the Goblin leader, he blasts him
Ranged Touch attack: 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (9) + 2 = 11
Blast damage: 1d6 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (6) + (1) + 1 = 8
If he can't find the goblin leader, he instead casts sleep on the closest group of four goblins he can find. Will save DC14
Firesnap takes the initiative and firebolts the goblin in the center of the group approaching right in the chest. the bolt badly chars the flimsy leather armor, and the skinny goblins flimsy chest underneath. the creature screams incoherently in pain.
noran fire a crossbolt bolt at the same creature but the shot is a little wide.
lomar crouches down low behind a very small tuft of reeds. scanning the battlefield for signs of a leader he sees none.
so instead he casts a sleep spell on the approaching goblins and another one a few feet back.
you heard him you IDIOTS! destroy the intruders NOW! charge!
all the sudden the gobs start screaming and you can hear there footsteps start almost as one. the mist is still hampering visibility in the compound out to about 35 or 40 ft.
these are the four currently within view. ive got a -2 on ranged attacks because of the mist. if not everyone posts we will not fight all the goblins. too many for the few that are posting. good luck
Noran the only goblin visible that is not asleep, he takes a swing but the goblin avoids the attack.
firesnapp fires (hehe) a flaming shot, but it harmlessly sail over the goblins head.
Now goblins are starting to appear out of the mist. you can finally see the larger leader of the goblins. it is a hobgoblin. the remainder of his troops consists of 14 goblins counting the 3 sleepers.
he speaks in a voice loud enough to be heard by everyone

Sorry for my absence. And am thinking, if no one else seems to want to continue this game except Firesnap and we three newcomers to it, perhaps it's time to put out requests for more players to join it? Also, lets try and keep track of the rounds and other battle stats to keep things organized, ya? For a great example of good battle posting check out THIS
Round ?? Initiative 4
hp 11/11; AC 15/12T/13FF/ 13CMD; +2F/+2R/+3W
Buffs: none
Effects: none
As the large band of goblins makes itself visible, Lomar concentrates his blast on the hobgoblin leader
Initiative:1d20 + 2 ⇒ (2) + 2 = 4
Ranged touch 30': 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Damage: 1d6 + 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (5) + (6) + 1 = 12
And then steps back as far as he can, still trying to remain stealthy and making it as difficult as possible for the goblins to reach him.
Stealth: 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (12) + 1 = 13
Siloquay fires her cross bow at the approaching goblins. the bolt flies true and is embedded in a goblin shoulder. he grimaces in pain but somehow manages to keep his feet.
Lomar lets a blast of fire off at the hobgoblin leader, but the aim of the blast is off. the hobgoblins smiles at lomar and speaks in the common tongue I will Gut you human scum!
firesnap also fires an errant shot at the enemy before there advance begins.
As the goblins close on the party,Noran feints a downward chop to his right,then spins reversing his swing at goblin to his left. 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 Urgrosh1d8 ⇒ 1
