Nice one
Larkin...
Hurls a dagger at Brother Jericho
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 for 1d4 ⇒ 3
Ping 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 - Done
Halli +2 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 - Done
Achenar 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 - Done
Deirdre +1 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16 - Done
Aria 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12 - Done
Sidheon 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10 - Done
Ledford +2 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Larkin +3 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 - (Held until after Ledford) so now 10)
Andelyn 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Jericho 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
Andelyn and Jericho are now up.
Brother Jericho |
Aria, the numbers represent the order that people will move in. you everyone else has moved and now it is our turn. as for what you do I would suggest moving to the front and taking a shot or something like that.
while I am at it, was I wrong is there a reason that Larkin did not need to roll due to the obscuring mist?
Brother Jericho |
Yes, that is not the question thou, Obscuring mist says the spell blocks all vision, if Larkin is in the mist it would obscuring his vision too, whether he if 5 ft in or 15 ft in. If you read the spell differently please let me know where I have miss understood it. This is my last post questioning it either way, because I will go with your decision as the Gm.
GM Helaman |
He is in the mists but on the edge firing/shooting/throwing at targets outside the mist - in this case there is no penalty. If he was 1 square further away then that would be throwing through the mist or targeting through the mist and the 50% miss chance would apply. Will close out the round tomorrow - not sure what Jericho or Aria are doing at this point
Aria Elvenstar |
I wish to fire my bow, unfortunately i cannot see where anyone is and am therefore more likely to shoot someone I like, than an enemy
Whispering Hello? Jericho? Andelyn?
Ping Uk'Tang |
Ping, unable to come to terms with the feeling of possession and of being unable to control himself goes mad and slits his own wrists with one of his throwing stars. As his eyes dim his last words are Curse those who compel me to action without contacting my God, it can't be quicker to post then send a text
GM Helaman |
Ooookay. Wow. In any case, Ping MAY be thinking that, but as he's unconscious until the channelling, he can't really slit anything. In all fairness, Steve asked me to possibly bot Ping on the 31st and he wasn't made to act until the 5th
Aria tries shooting an arrow at the dagger thrower.
Bow: 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (4) + 5 = 9 for 1d8 ⇒ 7 Miss chance as the target is in the fog? 1d100 ⇒ 85
The shot misses.
Brother Jericho channels energy and Ping comes back - with 1 hp.
Ping 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 -
Halli +2 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 -
Achenar 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 -
Larkin +3 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 -
Deirdre +1 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Aria 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Sidheon 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Ledford +2 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Andelyn 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Jericho 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2
Ping is up. I'll call him tomorrow.
Achernar |
At the risk of being a pedantic rules lawyer, I believe Ping could perform said action if he decides to use his orc ferocity ability. Also, I am uncertain about the way obscuring mist is being played. I have sent you an email on it to explain my thinking, but the upshot is that Larkin should not be getting the protection he is being given, with the result that, he should not get protection from Aria's shot.
GM Helaman |
Thats true - he could commit suicide and I forgot to include orcish fercocity but given that this whole mess up is due to lack of communication its probably best until it resolves itself. Arias' shot missed because the attack roll was a '9'
My phone is dead and needs repair - can someone ring Jordon?
GM Helaman |
A 5ft step can be the only move you make or you can try a withdraw action, which guarantees no AoO for the first 5ft of movement...
Ping nimbly moves out of reach of the raging halfling before doing a neat acrobatic flip to win past the first square of the rogues cover, and acrobatics: 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (17) + 7 = 24 doing an even more impressive backflip to avoid a potential second attack all together (acrobatic movement is double cost so I've moved Ping back as far as he could get this round).
Halli moves to the edge of the mists and summons up a ray of Acid which she hurls at Aria
1d20 + 2 - 4 ⇒ (6) + 2 - 4 = 4 for 1d6 + 1 ⇒ (1) + 1 = 2 damage... which misses.
Achenar?
Ping 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (18) + 5 = 23 - Done
Halli +2 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (19) + 2 = 21 - Done
Achenar 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (14) + 6 = 20 -
Larkin +3 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (16) + 3 = 19 -
Deirdre +1 1d20 + 1 ⇒ (15) + 1 = 16
Aria 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Sidheon 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Ledford +2 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Andelyn 1d20 + 5 ⇒ (1) + 5 = 6
Jericho 1d20 + 0 ⇒ (2) + 0 = 2

I've had a few personal issues I've been dealing with, hence the delay in posting. Difficult when its a player - inexcusable when its a DM. My apologies.
I've also just found out that the scenario I've been running has been retired for 2-3 months (something I didn't know before we started).
In effect this means that there is no 'Chronicle' or game credit I can issue for this PbP game.
Happy to run it to conclusion if you wish but there isn't any point beyond completing the story so to speak.
Achernar |
Brett, don't beat yourself up - it happens and we are nothing if not sympathetic.
I think J is currently not well, and tomorrow morning (6:15am) I need to fly OS until Wednseday week, so at least two of us are going to have an uncertain availability anyway.
Do I understand you correctly that the fact that there is no chronicle point means we can't gain experience from this adventure? If so that is a bit of a bummer, but I am happy to draw a line under it. I have had a good time playing, and I am happy to keep the character for another time.
That said, I am prepared to keep playing if people want to see how it turns out.
