...every table should have a VERY clear and posted policy on what happens when a player goes missing during a combat, with a very clearly defined period of inactivity time before combat botting occurs.
In the case in which a player's unannounced absence is slowing down the pace of play, I may take actions for them that I believe to be appropriate. This will generally be after at least 16hrs of non-weekend/holiday time.
I will take actions that I believe to be most appropriate for the character even if those actions use valuable resources or place the character into danger.
If you expect to be missing, a quick note about your planned course of action can be helpful in determining your actions otherwise I will do my best in picking reasonable courses of action which align with your character's pattern of play.
All that said, business as usual, just following instructions and posting a policy.
Nar Ibn Saif |
Yeah, caught that one too, much appreciated.
Tico Marvillos |
I'll be off from may 26th to may 29th due to vacations. I'll return in may 30th, bot me if necessary. :)

@All: (If you'll forgive the advertising for other tables)
I'm in a long-running PbP CORE table run by DM S. We've been together for ten or more scenarios.
Anyway, we're about to begin "Sewer Dragons of Absalom". One of our group has dropped out, and seems unlikely to return, and we'd like to replace the player with someone we know and trust before opening things up to the Flaxseed Lodge.
If anyone here—including and especially Pirate Rob—would like to join us, please let me know. Level 6 is preferred (to push APL to 6/7 subtier), but the party ranges from levels 4+ to 6.0. We are particularly in need of someone with divine ability, but would welcome most any useful CORE character.
Valya Sunrider |
Thanks for the invite Sabi, but I've no appropriate level characters and not looking to get in to another game right now. All the best with your recruitment drive though!
Nar Ibn Saif |
Just wanted to say congrats to our GM on his new PFS number. Well deserved.
Pirate GM |
Yarrr. Thank you very much.
As a note parents are back in town so my posting rate should be going back up (as evidenced the last couple of days) however I am now on my way to Monterrey for a few days and will be slow the rest of the week.
I am expecting we'll finish up this level at some point next week.
Valya Sunrider |
Indeed, congrats!
All good with the pacing, we're progressing without it seeming breakneck, so all good with me ^.^
Masao Sabiumi |
I will be without Internet for a couple of weeks while I travel/move. I will do my best to check in via mobile, but my frequency will almost certainly drop.
Everyone, including Pirate GM, is welcome (nay, encouraged!) to bot me liberally through the beginning of July.
Pirate GM |
Sheet is up via link at top. We'll putter around with Klarkosh and town stuff this week and likely get started on the next level early next week.

Thank you just to get this out of the way.
I will be going normal progression and buying plot G. The Booming Settlement version, to express the growth of our lands and protecting our tannery, and the fields Nar has been planting.
Day Job (dancing in the streets): 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (9) + 8 = 17
Masao Sabiumi |
"Forgo your downtime to finalize a report to the Pathfinder Society. ... requires DC 15 Intelligence, Wisdom, or Profession(scribe). "
Now more confident in his abilities, Sabi pens a careful letter to Zarta introducing Klarkosh.
Prof(scribe), take ten: 10 + 5 = 15
Tico Marvillos |
day job - profession (scribe): 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (12) + 9 = 21
I have to update my sheet, fellows...
Tico Marvillos |
I'll travel today and I still have to update my sheet. I'll try to do it until monday, ok?
Tico Marvillos |
Hex "G" bought with "Booming Settlement".
Nar Ibn Saif |
For those celebrating the American Independence Day, Happy 4th. For those not, Happy Monday and the start of a new spire level.
Pirate GM |
We'll probably take a longer break between levels for town stuff after this next level, was just trying to get things going quickly again after I'd been having trouble keeping up for a couple weeks.

Suggestions in what I can spend my 9,495 of gold?
A rod of elemental spell (3.000), what do you think?
Sorry for the post on the wrong place. :X

Scrolls of various utility spells where the DC doesn't matter. (Life Bubble, Comprehend Languages/Tongues, and many more)
Rod of Elemental is ok. Piercing Rod is also useful.
Mask of Conflicting Energies
Cloak of Resistance upgrades, Wisdom Headband. Dusty Rose Ioun Stone (cracked and regular are both pretty good), Pale Green Ioun Stone (Cracked)
Eyes of the Eagle (or Lenses of Detection)
Some of my favorites off the top of my head.
Authoritative Vestments are also a possibility at some point.
Tico Marvillos |
Buys:
Lesser Rod of Elemental Spell (3.000 gp)
Scrolls:
1st - Comprehend Languages; (25 gp)
2nd - Remove Paralysis; (150 gp)
3rd - Dispel Magic; (375 gp)

Hi,
Profuse apologies on not being around these last few days. Tis tax season here in NZ and there were some last minute changes that required action prior to today's deadline. Anyway won't bore you with that!
Will get right on now!
Pirate GM |
Amusingly enough I'm a tax accountant, among other things.
Glad to hear you're doing alright and still with us. Please if you have any more tax work that needs doing before the deadline prioritize that over us.
Pirate GM |
@Tico: A cool trick with communal resist scrolls I like is to buy them as riffle scrolls. Gets the caster level up to 7 for that 20 resist.
Of course then they cost 700gp instead of only 375gp so are a lot less affordable.
Somedays I think I know too many silly little details like that.
Valya Sunrider |
Ah how funny Pirate GM! It's ok am all good on that front now, just was a lot of work in a short amount of time, appreciate your patience :)
On another note, I assumed +3 XP and +2 PP for each of the spire levels (5 and 6) but just thought I ought to check about the PP awards as I assumed fame of 18 which got Valya the ability to buy +2 gear, so if we didn't get at least +2 PP per module I had better go revamp her purchases is all!

That everybody within 30ft dazed for 2d4 rounds is rough. (Rolled a 4)
Along with a 1d6 minute long paralyzing bite... It's quite dangerous for a CR 4 in close quarters.
Nar Ibn Saif |
Sorry I wasn't questioning the daze, though it is surprisingly long. It happened to come up in another game I was doing and looked at the duration
Pirate GM |
No need to apologize, I didn't even think you were questioning, just honestly surprised, and even if you were I'm always happy to entertain questions when you think something might be wrong.
Also, I enjoy discussing oddities, and this creature definitely qualifies.
Nar Ibn Saif |
Always fun running into a CR4 with significant TPK potential. (and being a construct that looks like an undead doesn't hurt either)
Tico Marvillos |
Don't worry, man. Good luck there.
Nar Ibn Saif |
Do what you need to do, RL > Game always.

I am back. Mother was taken to the hospital and I spent all day Friday with her, things turned up with the best possible results and she's back home today. She'll still need a bit of extra help so my posting may be a bit slower for the next week or so but you likely won't even notice the difference.

Glad to hear everything's okay (or at least as okay as possible).
Tico Marvillos |
I'm happy for the news, Pirate GM! Welcome back. :)
Pirate GM |
Just thought I'd mention I decided what I'm going to run for the pbp game day (in addition to any of our floors here that happy to coincide)
13th Age - Giantslayer!
It's a weird game but if any of you are interested you're welcome to take a look and possibly apply here.
Nar Ibn Saif |
I'll be spending all of Sunday traveling, and the next 10 days or so taking care of my mom (she had to have surgery), so I went ahead and took care of updating my character. I don't think it should affect my posting rate.
I also bought some gear.
Upgrade CoR to +2
Headband of CHA +2
Pearl of Power (1st level)
Potion of Lesser Restoration
Masao Sabiumi |
Upgraded to Level 7. Major changes:
* Upgraded RoP from +1 to +2
* Upgraded armor from +1 to +3
* Improved Initiative feat
* Kineticist Expanded Element (level 7 power). Sabi now can fire air blasts (ranged attack, bludgeon damage), a more powerful air/cold hybrid blast (costs a bunch, though), has a new bull rush infusion for air attacks, and all party members always treated as "downwind" versus others with scent.
As an aside, in the process, I learned Paizo removed the text on upgrading magic items from the new season's RPG Guide, although I don't believe the rule has changed. Go figure.
Pirate GM |
Thanks for the note on upgrading items. I'm certain its an accidental omission, but I appreciate rules trivia.
Tico Marvillos |

scroll of neutralize poison (700 gp) forget this
Retraining domains (primary and secondary) (700 gp)
