Ser Weyland Wylde |
Sorry for the delay, been a crazy busy week.
Weyland nods to Ser Gillem, "Indeed Sir Gillem speaks the truth. I was framed for this terrible offense and I believe I have uncovered enough proof to clear my name".
Weyland turns to the King, "Your Grace as one of your loyal Knights, I beseech you to grant me an audience with your Hand that I may present the evidence I have gathered thus far".
Gillem Athelstan |
"I do hope the Hand is willing to hear such an important case, as it would help clear out a good man's name and a knight's honor as I look towards the Hand.
"Besides I think my lady needs to be tended also and it is better if we move this into a more discrete place to not disturb the King's feast and celebrations." as Gillem vows towards the King and awaits a reply from the Hand.
Nimon |
Enough! You are ruining my dinner! The king says angerly. Tommorow is a tournament. We shall let steel decide. The Lady can not fight for herself, so she shall need a champion. Who volunteers? The King asks impatiently. Eager to gain favor a newly appointed knight of house Baratheon volunteers. Its Settled then. Ser Weyland you shall face him on the field. If you win, you are innocent. If you loose, you shall go into the dungeons. Ser Orten, after the tournament we shall have a trial between your house and the remaining house Dannett. Lady Iris, you shall stay in my castle until the trial under my protection. Now let's eat dammit all!
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Weyland nods, "Thank you your grace".
Weyland sits down next to Gillem, "Let's hope that risk was worth it, at least we know Iris will be safe now".
As the dinner ends if I can I would like to attempt to reach the Hand of the King to discuss what I have learned during the course of my investigations thus far, just in case I do not win the next day I want to see that justice is done.
Nimon |
Lady Iris is escorted out of the room by Gold Cloaks. The evening is uneventfull after that.
Post any additional prep for the tournament, my next post will be to start out that for Ser Welyand/Gillam, Salamae we will have a bit more to do for this current encounter
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Intrigue roll - Diplomacy 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (19) + 6 = 25
Gillem Athelstan |
Ser Gillem will enjoy the evening drinking and eating as if nothing happened, but can't stop to think how everything will be tomorrow.
Once back to my tent and part in good form with Ser Weyland, which I make sure he make it back alive to his tent properly, I secure my equipment for the morrow and be ready for the tourney.
Nimon |
Ser Weyland Wylde |
I will explain the full story to Lord Stark as I did to Salamae and Gillem.
"As you can see Lord Stark it is vital that someone know the truth of the matter in case I fall in battle tomorrow. My only real request is that you ensure the safety of Iris Dannett, as I promised her mother I would look after her and unfortunately it is no longer on my power to do so. Lord Orten may have spies in the Goldcloaks so still I worry about her safety".
Intrigue Damage 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (2) + 1 = 3 I assume I succeeded by at least +5.

The day of the tournament is a very nice day. The sky is clear and the weather is warm with a cool breaze.
I assume Ser Weyland and Ser Gillam sign up for all games.
Joust,Melee,Archery and horsemenship. Is there any you do not wish to participate in?
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Yes. Ser Weyland signs up for every tourney. He will also inquire about the fight to obtain his innocence as well.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Prior to the event Ser Weyland would have retrieved Thunder from the stable where he had last placed him.
Is there any way that I can request the return of my weapons and armor via the hand of the King?
Salamae Therandis |
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Thunder has a +5 vs. my +2 Initiative, not sure if that makes a difference here. I officially Challenge my opponent increasing Melee damage by 1.
With my skill as a trained rider I receive 0 armor check penalty while mounted on Thunder.
Initiative 1d20 + 2 ⇒ (7) + 2 = 9
Ride 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (6) + 6 = 12
Can I use a Hero Point in this instance?
Gillem Athelstan |
I don't know if we have more than 1 fight a day, so I can save my challenge for someone stronger or use it my daily in my jousting. I think we use our Initiative but the mount chooses the best of both I think.
Initiative 1d20 + 3 ⇒ (11) + 3 = 14
Ride 1d20 + 11 ⇒ (19) + 11 = 30
Nimon |
we can run both at samme time that would be best probably.Gillem you will be fighting in the archery tournament after this though, which is just a series of hits, so roll 3 ranged hits.
You can use a hero Point.
Typically this is a performance combat, but for Ser Weyland's grudge match it is more of a duel.
Archery Competition
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (7) + 6 = 13
1d20 + 5 ⇒ (2) + 5 = 7
1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Those are shots from the top three opponets to beat the first round.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Are we using the Hero Point system from the Advanced Players Guide in Pathfinder or the rules from Eberron? I have house rule Hero Points so I would need to look up the rules to implement. Thanks.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
With the use of a Hero Point, Ser Weyland's Ride roll is increased by +4 (using the point afer the roll) giving him a 16 on the check.
Shot 1 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Shot 2 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (1) + 4 = 5
Shot 3 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Nimon |
Ser Weyland- you barly advance to the next round in the Archery Contest. Roll a hit on your opponet. If successful I will roll him a ride check at a DC of your Hit Total, if he fails he is unseated.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Weyland's Lance Attack 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (13) + 7 = 20
Weyland's Second Archery Round
Shot 1 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (8) + 4 = 12
Shot 2 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (6) + 4 = 10
Shot 3 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (9) + 4 = 13
Nimon |
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (1) + 6 = 7 You have unseated your opponet in the Joust for your freedom Ser Weyland. Let that be the end of it then. Ser Weyland has proven his honor by trial of combat. The King Stands and announces.
Depending on Ser Gillam's next shots, you probably did not advance to the next round in archery Ser Weyland.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Ser Weyland bows to the King, "Thank you Your Grace!" Weyland's elation no doubt affected his aim in the archery round. Of course, sword and horseplay are Weyland's strong suit so he did not expect to advance far in the archery competition anyway.
In between rounds, Weyland attempts to meet with the Hand of the King again to check on Iris Dannett.
Intrigue Initiative (against one of the Hand's Retainers)1d20 + 2 ⇒ (8) + 2 = 10
Intrigue roll - Diplomacy 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Nimon |
1d20 + 3 ⇒ (19) + 3 = 22 The retainer sees you coming and stops you befor you can speak. The hand has no time for the sad woes of the southern lords at this time The northerner says in a harsh tone and being extremly short with you. You guess you are probably not the first to request an audiance this day and their patience is running thin.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (11) + 6 = 17 Intrigue-Intimidate If over your social defense 1d4 + 1 ⇒ (4) + 1 = 5
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Weyland will nod to the retainer and apologize for the inconvenience. He will observe Ser Gillem's shots on the archery range instead though what he is truly worried about is Iris.
Salamae Therandis |
"A few, yes. I don't know of any you can answer. I've been researching the conflict between two of the Houses. Daggers, poison, and something about witchcraft, but I'm not sure if that's related." She gives the Brevosi a few of the details she and the others have gathered so far.
Nimon |
Ser Gillem advances to the final round. Roll once.
1d20 + 6 ⇒ (5) + 6 = 11
Nimon |
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Weyland is out of the Archery competition and has cleared his name. At this point he is just waiting for the next two competitions to begin. As the day draws to a close he will try to make contact with the Hand again but for now is content to be patient.
