Ser Weyland Wylde |
Sister, the man at the party accusing Ser Archley of attacking him was speaking the truth, he did try to poison men on the road. I will need to talk to his accuser to get to the bottom of what happened, can you help me do this?"
Nimon |
Salamae Therandis |
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Ruben a merchant fianced to the Dannet daughter, Iris, had apparently rushed to a Gold Cloaks patrol to report the violence. Seeing me on the road he knew that his story would not hold up so he framed me for the crime. Surprisingly I was locked up with no chance to defend myself. A mysterious benefactor broke me out and I have been trying to clear my name since.
At this point I have discovered little that I can present as evidence to prove my innocence. The Lugus knew of the man who had reported these "bandits" a Ham Flowers. I believe that this was a story the Lugus created to cover their plan to attack the Dannetts. However, since I survived they blamed the atrocity on me. Now I am a good swordsman but I certainly could not kill the entire Dannett staff so I am not sure how they thought that story could work unless they have the King’s ear and they may.
The Lugus are involved with a Lord Orten whose party I met you at. Clearly he has something to do with this as well. My contact believes that Iris did not want to marry Ruben and requested that Orten intervene and things got out of hand. I am not sure I believe that story. At any rate Orten is allies with Littlefinger on the King's Council so perhaps they planned on using his influence to blame the entire atrocity on me that way.
Orten did not know me, that is why I posed as Ser Archley at the party. Orten bid me to find Iris Dannett who is somewhere in King’s Landing. He also told me there was evidence at the Dannet House but with the Torney so close I have not been able to head there yet to confirm that. He also gave me the dagger which he acquired from you though I am not sure what I was supposed to do with it.
I was sure I would be caught when the real Archley showed up but then that man challenged him and he ran away. I caught up with him but he was injured. Before he perished he told me that he owed a debt to the Lugus that his father had not repaid. He admitted to attacking travelers on the road. When I searched him I did find poison on him so he was guilty of that crime. I do not think he was a bad man just a man with a debt over his head.
I need to find Archley’s accuser and see what he knows. Right now your link to the dagger is one of the few hard pieces of evidence I have that can prove my innocence. I am sorry for being long winded but as you can see this is quite a convoluted plot! Will you help me My Lady? Can you tell me who this accuser is? Will you testify for me if it comes to it about how you came across this dagger and who you were told to give it to?”
Salamae Therandis |
Salamae listens to the long-winded explanation without interruption.
"Of course. I shall do everything I can to ensure that the truth comes out. But, what makes the dagger so significant? Does it have any special meaning? Engravings, symbols? I do not understand why the dagger was given in the first place, or what it might signify as a secret message."
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Salamae Therandis |
"I would only be too glad to help you if I could, but I do not know the name of his accuser. That is why I am here in the library. I am trying to find the names of those who were at the feast the other night, or at least learn a little more about them. Can we not ask Orten himself?"
Salamae takes the dagger and looks over it.

Salamae looks up, slightly chagrined at the reprimand.
"Perhaps we should move elsewhere, Master Weyland. I am sure we can find a quiet place to finish our discussion."

As you start to walk out of the library you see Ser Gillem from the Lugus feast looking your way.
Salamae Therandis |
"Ah, Ser Weyland..." Salamae stops and whispers to her new companion as they come upon the familiar face. "Is this not someone who was at the Lugus feast last night? Perhaps he knows more about the nobles I never heard the names of."
Salamae is quieter now, since being hushed by the librarian, but it is clear that she is in a bit of a hurry.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Ser Weyland motions towards the man Ser Gillem that Salamae points out attempting to get his attention.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Is everybody on vacation?
Ser Weyland Wylde |
I was hoping Salamae would have an idea of where to go. I don;t think my current residence would be a appropriate for her.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
"Gillem. I and Salamae would like to meet with you in private to discuss delicate matters would you be amenable to this? Unfortunately I cannot provide a place for us to meet so it will have to be somewhere that you or the good sister know of".
Sorry for the delay work has been crazy this week.
Salamae Therandis |
Sorry for the delay. I lost internet connection on Monday evening. Just now got it back.
"Someplace far from the palace grounds. I've heard the privy council have spies everywhere. We might go to one of the resting grounds nearby. If the Silent Sisters here us, they are bound to not communicate it."
Salamae Therandis |
That should have been "hear us" not "here us". Sigh.
Salamae takes up a position among the gravestones (if any such are used during burial ceremonies for the Seven, other that the ritual removal of organs). She appears to be mourning the dead, bowing her head and speaking softly as though she is at prayer.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Ser Weyland watches the area around for any nosy interlopers.
Once he is satisfied that no one is around he tells Gillem his story.
"My name is Ser Weyland Wylde and I am a Knight of the Realm loyal to King Robert.Let me start from the beginning of my involvement. There have been rumors lately of bandits in the area outlying King's Landing. I agreed to take a patrol and ended up with an entourage from House Lugus. We stopped at House Dannett to rest for the evening. I awoke to the smell of smoke and found myself trapped in the attic. Luckily I was able to break out and found Lady Dannett dying. She told me that the Lugus had slain everyone and torched the house.
I need to find Archley’s accuser and see what he knows. Salamae's link to the dagger is one of the few hard pieces of evidence I have that can prove my innocence. So tell me Ser can you identify Ser Archley's accuser?”
Ser Weyland Wylde |
"The hour grows late Ser. If you wish to sleep on your decision that is fine though I would prefer to know now that I may make plans which include us all".
Gillem Athelstan |
"Troublesome indeed, but first we must think of a new ;disguise" for you, may you pose as a hired knight of my retinue?"
"I also heard rumors of the Dannet girl and was going to look into it, more out of curiosity than anything else good Ser, but I do believe you were handed the blade side of the sword in this issue" If I can help him this might be a great boon for me I will help you for whatever I can, for I had an encounter with some bandit in the forest, that worshiped some kind of creature and everything is strange for me" as I look at Salamae "That is what brings me to your sister, I sometimes see this... woman... I... don't know what is the problem"
Ser Weyland Wylde |
"Splendid Gillem. Hopefully I will see the man I am looking for at the Tourney. I was hoping to compete in the Tournament itself but I suppose that option is no longer available to me. Let me follow up with my contact and I will head to where you are staying so that we may create my cover story". Ser Weyland listens as Gillem describes his dilemma, which of course is far beyond Weyland's powers to aid with or understand.
Salamae Therandis |
"We must also beware of poison. This is no mere swordmaster we are contending with, but one armed with medical knowledge as well." She explains the nature of the dagger.
To Ser Gillem, "Can you describe this woman you see? Is she someone you know, or only a mystery to you? Is she real, or only imagined?"
Gillem Athelstan |

Your new temporary name can be Ser Weymur, new member of my personal retinue so you can still carry your own heraldry, that must change a bit and be rather safe.
Will answer once I know if I require what the DM asks of me Salamae

I will post the next section, you can continue to attempt any magic ect to help Gillem
left this morning. Daisy tells you befor you leave for the feast.
The feast is a Grand event. When you arrive at the Castle you are greated at the Door by Master Pycell himself, who introduces you to the great hall. At the end of the table are the King and Queen, the later looking as unimpressed as usual, while the King is deep in his drink. The hand sits to the King's right with his daughters and across from him next to the Queen sits Jamie Lannister, the Kingslayer.
I think you all for coming to welcome my dear friend and brother Ned Stark, newly appointed hand of the King. I could go on, but I will let the man speak for himself The King says once all are seated.
I thank you for your kind welcome. I am not very familar with tournaments, but this looks to be a great one. Please enjoy yourselves and I wish you all the best. Let's eat. The man of few words says obviously shy to be the center of attention.

Being a female more inclined to subtlety and the mechanisms of knowledge and how to properly use it, Salamae spends the evening in the royal library (if it is open to her.) She researches the possibility of witchcraft, such as that described by Gillem, its causes and cures.

Your research on the spell effecting Gillem is unsuccessful however.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
I want to look for Tarris at the feast. Otherwise I will simply attend to Gillem as he is my liege-lord :) If I see any of my foes at the feast I want to pay careful attention to whom they are speaking and if possible listen in.
Nimon |
You do see Ser Orten. He isnt saying much and looks nervous during the feast. You do hear him tell one of his men Find her at all cost!
As the feast starts all is merry. There is a bard playing and joking and the King seems to be in good spirits. Suddenly there is a commotion from the hallway.Let me Pass Damm YOU! a female voice is heard.
She drags a guard holding her back into the room of the feast shouting I am Lady Dannet of House Dannet! House Lugus are all murderers!MURDERERS! Orten seems shocked and speechless.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
At that voice Ser Weyland will do his best to excuse himself from any conversation and follow her to wherever she goes or is taken. Do I recognize the woman?
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Then I my original intent stands, I will motion to Ser Gillem to follow but if he does not I make my way over anyway. Do I see Ser Archley's accuser by any chance?
Nimon |
You do not see Ser Archley's accuser.
The Lady Dannet's eyes Narrow on Ser Weyland aka Ser Achley aka...
I know you! I saw you leaving the mannor just befor it blew up! Had to make sure your handy work was finished is that it fiend?! She lungs for you but the guards keep her at bay.
Come now whats all this racket The king says only mildly annoyed, though he is known to go from mildly annoyed to raving mad in a second.
