Ser Weyland Wylde |
Weyland nods at the letter, "I will need more to clear my name but it is a start. Ser Orten handed me this dagger he wants me to plant it on someone any idea who? Weyland shows Daisy the dagger.
"A sister named Salmae delivered it can you arrange a meeting with her tomorrow? In the meantime I want to head out to House Dannett it seems there is some evidence still there that I think can help me, I just need to find it. Also we need to find the last Dannett girl, she is hiding somewhere in Kings Landing according to Orten".
Nimon |
Salamae, Gillem, Tarris feel free to either continue to engage in the party, or something else. as a recap Ser Orten seems frustrated but he is putting on a good face for the feast. Soon the food will be served and with the feast will come the marrige anouncement.
Nimon |
The house Maester anounces the Feast and servants bring out food.
Tarris you are seated furthest from the host, which is probably of comfort to you since you have gathered that there are no northerners at this party but yourself.
Salamae you are asked to give the meal blessing
Gillem you are seated a few chairs down from Ser Langley who is so excited he had to be reminded to sit for the blessing.
Gillem Athelstan |
Gillem will make not of the faces of those around the "scene" that was caused to approach them after or during the feast. Meanwhile Gillem will try to remember some glorious deed or something worth remember from Ser Langley to speak of at the table.
I have no idea what kind of roll I should make K. Nobility or History or what for something of the sort?
Salamae Therandis |
Salamae makes her way to the end of one of the central (or head, if preferable) long table.
"To the Father, we give thanks,
for the bounty of the forest, farm, and field.
To the Mother, our undying love,
for the gifts of the sea and rivers.
To the Warrior, praises and honors,
for guarding the feasthall from its enemies wherever they may hide.
To the Wise Crone, we beseech
that wisdom and honor might forebear all grudges within these halls.
To the Smith, honor and appreciation,
for the labors that hands have worked into creating this hall and all within it.
To the gracious Maiden, gratitude,
for providing for our children and the multitude of life."
At this, she pauses for a few seconds, as though reading something silently in her mind.
"With the Seven, let us always remember,
the sacrifices of olden day and yon that made the peace between kings
and this feast possible."
Sorry, I looked all over the web for a Septon's prayer book. Couldn't find one, so I had to make one up on the fly.
Nimon |
After the blessing Ser Langley makes his announcement of engagement to Lady Marita Lugus. Everyone Toasts. The merchant Ruben Piper is looking very upset and does not eat much. About mid-way in the meal a lord walks over to Salamae and once again thanks her for saving his nephew, he is of a minor house loyal to the Lugus family.
Gillem Athelstan |
I make a small toast at our table
"It takes a great rider to recognize another one, and not to mention heroes at holding a key location for the King, Ser Langley is a brother in arms to as all now and something some would aspire too" as Gillem raises his cup "Let the Seven bless you and your family"
Szinroc |
In a voice not exactly Gillem's he adds And those loyal to the true King, and not the dragon worshiping traitors
Everyone at the table is a little shocked, but it does gain a boisterous HERE HERE! from a nobel of House Peake, married to a Lannister woman who is not present.
Another nobel of House Blount just sits quietly though he does drink to the toast.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Weyland looks down at Archley and tries to figure out where to bring him to save his life. "I would like him alive if possible. Very well I will arrange a meeting with the Septa. Going back to the party now will reaise too many questions. See if you and my benefactor can get an idea of where Iris is hiding. Also who was the man accusing Ser Archley of attacking him on the road? I would like to speak with him as well. Oh and My Lady, save the attitude for someone else, I don't appreciate it".
Nimon |
Ser Weyland Wylde |
I stand up Ser Archley and try to revive him with a slap to the face. Grumbling about his drinking and fighting problems I throw him over my shoulders and head down the alleyway as if nothing is amiss.
Once I am out of sight I will find a place to deposit his body for the time being. I will search him to make sure he does not have anything else on him that I can use to exonerate myself. After that I will find a place to remove my disguise and head to the Church to leave a request for an audience with Septa Salamae leaving my name as Ser Archley.
After that I will head to the stables where Daisy told me Thunder may be held and attempt to buy him with some of the gold I got from Orten. Assuming that all goes well I will ride out to the Dannett's House to see if there is any evidence left behind in light of Orten asking me whether I destroyed the evidence and Tarris saying that he fought Archley I am hoping that Tarris intercepted Archley before he was able to get rid of said evidence. I am a very busy Knight with a busy night ahead of him!

The rest of the night goes by uneventfull. The next morning criers are anouncing the King's Feast to be held in the field heralding the start of the tournament offically 2 days from now.

Weyland will attempt to get to the Dannett House first to investigate. Should I rolls search check?

A recap to get us back into things. I did not respond to Ser Weyland because I was hoping for a few more posts and did not want to seem like I was favoring him.
The Main Feast is in two days. Take this time to prepare. I will give you all 1,500 gold in "allowances"or income how ever best suits your character, this amount is more to bring you up to par to your level than to be really a realistic representation of the local economy, which is rarley accurate as it is.
This game is a lot of freeform investigation. If I give you a lead and choose not to follow it, or to look for other leads, it is hard for me to really respond to a non-action post without railroading your character. Try to give me an action with your posts so I have something to go on.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Ser Weyland's tasks remain the same. As much as I would like to investigate farther afield I also do not want to miss the tournament. Plus if I can find what I am looking for in King's Landing I will still accomplish my goals.
Salamae Therandis |
My problem is that I made Salamae a mostly quiet character. It's the motto of her house, I've decided. Something about silence being more powerful or something like that. (Still need to work on it to make it sound as cool as the others). So, she's less likely to get involved in things unless there's an obvious need for her. In other words, she knows there's some political intrigue going on, but her upbringing has mostly made her less likely to poke her nose into things. Now, if others (npcs or players) come to her for advice, its an easy way to draw her into things, but she probably won't get too involved on her own. I apologize but this seemed the most realistic way to play this character, so I invite others to feel free to invite Salamae for advice, etc.
Salamae spends the next day or so in the Royal Library under the supervision of either Maester Pycell or another high standing figure in the Library. She quietly researches the names she heard thrown around at dinner the previous night.
Knowledge (nobility)
1d20 + 7 ⇒ (1) + 7 = 8
But after hours of research, has discovered nothing useful.
"By the Seven...!" she curses quietly under her breath, an eye up toward the window.
Nimon |
That is fine, the library is a good choice.
Sorry to hear that Gillem. Play when you can.
While in the library, The man going by the name Ser Achley at the Lugus feast the night befor finds you.
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Perception 1d20 + 4 ⇒ (13) + 4 = 17
Ser Weyland Wylde |
Ser Weyland draws the dagger that Salamae handed to Orten at the feast.
Salamae Therandis |
She struggles to put the heavy book she was reading back on the shelf.
"This place has been filled with more intrigue and secrets since the appointment of the new Hand, perhaps even slightly before. While it is not surprising, truly, it is alarming that so much is going on at this specific moment."
