I can keep doing this all day, but the others are going to end up dead if they keep getting hit; thinks Hiro as he send another bolt of ice the creatures direction.

Marcel drops from the elemental's attack, dropping his sword as he does. However soon he regains conscious, kips up (deed, move action to stand up from prone, no AoO) moves away from the earth elemental (5 foot step) and picks up his sword (move action that provokes, but he no longer threatens, so no AoO).

"Jeez, this guy hits hard."

The attack made my hit points go below zero, but then life link popped me back up this time, then spent all my actions to get back up and armed without taking an AoO.

The books concern alchemy and various bits of esoteric arcane lore. Anyone who references the texts for an hour can attempt her next Knowledge (arcana) check with a +2 circumstance bonus.

Appraise DC 15 and the perception check was made:
The tomes are worth 50 gp each.

Marcel has no problem excavating the construct, and manages to avoid any falling debris. "Think we could use this for anything?" He'd studied clockwork contraptions on occasion before, but that was mostly to get them not to hurt people or otherwise disable them, reactivating something typically was a bit more difficult. Marcel also notices the draconic tomes, and points them out to the others, but has no idea what they contain or how much they are worth.

Hiro looks at the tomes Marcel points out, "Hmm, it looks like Sylvan, but it doesn't read right."

I wonder if they are magical; "रंग रोशनी, जादू ऊर्जा, मेरी दृष्टि को उज्ज्वल आ चमक, कलंक!" chants Hiro as his vision blurs.

I think that is just shy of the DC 25 which would be the minimum DC. Might be enough to ID the language though.

As Hiro casts detect magic he finds out that even though the recently found tomes are not magical there is an magical aura coming from inside the contraption and after some longer study you find out it that it radiates conjuration magic.

DC 15 Disable device to open the compartment:
Inside is a pulsing
yellow crystal - with Hiro's spellcraft check he's able to figure out this is some sort of power source.

Torche doesn't know what's written inside the tomes, but he is able to piece enough together to know it's written in Draconic.

Calistan is bored. Yawn, books... He picks up his shield, pulls out his wand and taps Samuel on the shoulder and points at the new path opened to us before walking towards it.

As Calistan looks down the tunnel he sees that is continues for a short while before branching off. It's filled with all sorts of rubble and pebbles and seems to make walking through it a bit of a hassle.

Game effects; The footing in the debris- choked caverns is treacherous.
Any creature moving through the caverns must succeed at a DC 10 Acrobatics check to move faster than 5 feet per round.
Anyone who fails such a check cannot move that round, and anyone who fails the check by 5 or more falls prone.

Samuel nods in gratitude to Aviendha, his head still spinning somewhat from the impact. As Calistan gestures down the hallway the Andoran takes point, stepping cautiously through the rubble as he does so.

As Samuel carefully works his way down the tunnel he sees that it continues towards the room where you could see the rats moving around when you past by. And it splits off towards a seemingly empty room towards the east.

Hiro takes a few moments to investigate the aura coming from the sealed compartment, "Looks like something magical in here, I'll just get it out and follow you."

Whipping out a couple small tools from his pockets and begins fiddling with the contraption.

As the compartment pops open, Hiro notices the source of the magic aura is a pulsing yellow crystal. "Hmm, probably the power source for this thing."

He intones a new magical phrase; "पर्ची और स्लाइड, फ्लिप और सरकना, प्लग और दरार, झटका और लिफ्ट!" and then directs an unseen hand to slowly lift the gem out of the compartment.

Casting Mage Hand to remove the gem if possible. Spell Failure: 1d100 ⇒ 50

Mage hand doesn't work on anything magical (Target one non-magical, unattended object weighing up to 5 lbs)...so it auto fails to remove the gem..you can just take it out with your hands though.

Torche stands by Hiro, a little unsure of moving down what looks to be a very rough passage. "It would make sense that it powered the device. Is there anything else it can do? Do you sense any magical auras now that it is removed?"

Hiro reaches in and removes the gem, "It has a conjuration aura about it, I have heard of summoned elementals being used to do tasks. Perhaps this is similar."

He tucks the gem into a pocket in case the group needs it later.

Turning to follow the others he notes the debris filled passage, stepping very nimbly he has no difficulty passing over the scree at his normal pace.

"Conjuration. May I have a quick look before you put it away? I wonder if it can be used to summon...or to help control things that have been summoned." If Hiro allows, Torche will go ahead and clasp the gem for a moment, casting detect magic and plumbing past the aura to see if he can learn the specific uses of the gem. He closes his eyes briefly and returns the gem to Hiro. "This one is beyond me. Perhaps with some more time in the morning it might spark a memory from my studies. Shall we move on and see what the others have found?" Torche makes his way carefully into the tunnel, following behind the others.

He peers through the gloom noting several shadowy shapes...

As Hiro looks into the room he sees;
Part of this chamber is in total ruin. The western half of this room appears to have mostly collapsed, though jagged openings peer to into a dark cavern. The east half of the chamber is filled with small chests and barrels. Most are covered in dust, but some appear to have been recently disturbed.

He does hear some movement and talking come from the corridor at the south side of the small room. Multiple creatures.

Hiro whispers quitely to Samuel while pointing to the southern corridor in the small room, "Movement and talking, more than one creature."

Then he attempts to quietly slip across the room while drawing his black dagger. He takes a position to surprise whomever is in the hallway.

As Hiro sneaks forward and takes a peek around the corner he sees:
This chamber appears to still be in use. Its floors have recently been swept, and its three tables appear to be organized and well kept.
Arranged across the tables are numerous strange alchemical devices, some of which are suspended over low-burning flames and emit pale ribbons of smoke. Others simply bubble and boil of their own volition.

There are 3 goblins in this room (wearing leather armor and having short sword and a number of vials hanging from a belt) working on some of the experiments.

It doesn't look like they've heard Hiro approach.

For what it's worth, Marcel has a wayfinder too, and can hold it for light in combat without any penalty since its not a weapon (it can be in his free hand).

Hiro uses hand signals to let the others know about the goblins. He flashes three fingers on one hand while gesturing that they are waist high. Next he motions to his ears and exaggerates thier length and pointiness.

He then waits and signals that follow the others in to surprise the goblins.

Hiro sees one of the goblins suddenly stop what he is doing and look up listening to something.

Basically means you won't be a getting a surprise round. Going to hold of with rolling initiative unless you guys move into the room for now. It might be about 12-24 hours till I can post again so feel free to make a plan of attack..or move away and go for another room

I hope she thinks that means to charge. He thinks readying his dagger and hoping to surprise at least one of the little bastards after the two armored heroes charge in.

Hiro will follow Aviendha and Samuel into the room, using stealth to catch the goblins by surprise after the others make their presence known.

I think that as Hiro is stealthing before initiative and he stealths into the room, he still counts as hidden. He would have to walk half speed to avoid penalties and the goblins would get a new perception check. He might hide himself behind Samuel, me or any of the others running in to still hide. If he charges in disregarding his stealth they just see him. That's what I think, but it's your call.

Seeing Hiro's signal, Torche weaves his way through the rest of the group into the room and turns left to move to the corner with his back against the wall. If I use fire this entire room is going up, better use cold. He mimes the action of scooping up a pile of snow and making a ball, winds up, and then with a throwing action suddenly conjures an actual ball of snow that flies at the closest goblin.

Casts snowball at the blue goblin using one point from his arcane reservoir to raise the caster level (making him CL 3 for the spell)

It seems that's right; When you start your turn using Stealth, you can leave cover or concealment and remain unobserved as long as you succeed at a Stealth check and end your turn in cover or concealment. Your Stealth immediately ends after you make an attack roll, whether or not the attack is successful (except when sniping).

Torche moves forward and casts a snowball at one of the goblins

Hitting it and the impact and cold seems to have him staggering around (Yes, he made his save and is still staggered).

Delay until I see where everyone else is going to stop, then I will move in and attack.

The goblins seeing a party of adventures approach start to react..the green one picks up a bottle from the table and throws it at Samuel
To hit touch AC Samuel: 1d20 + 6 ⇒ (10) + 6 = 16 hitting him in the chest..the bottles explodes sending droplets of burning oil everywhere
Fire damage Samuel: 1d6 ⇒ 5 (Also 1 fire splash damage for Aviendha)
before it moves a bit away to a better position

The blue one takes out a bottle that is hanging from it's belt.
The other goblin seems to wait for something to happen (ready)

Calistan feels the sear of his flesh as his mottled hands burning with fire. Samuel's wounds seem to regenerate fully from the goblin's attack.

Calistan will ready his wand of Cure Light Wounds to heal himself at the end of the round (before the goblins act) or if he takes more damage.

Aviendha calls for a quick prayer of Desna (swift action divine favor) then she rushes forward and will try to strike the middle goblin.

"I have had enough of you pathetic midgets!"
She yells as she takes her great sword and slashes it down hard on the goblin.
attack: 1d20 + 9 ⇒ (18) + 9 = 27
dmg: 2d6 + 8 ⇒ (4, 5) + 8 = 17

Scarab Sages

As Aviendha moves past the table the red goblin with an evil grin on it's face flips over the table, alchemical supplies fly everywhere, reacting with each other and produce smoke, electrical sparks and small fires.

Aviendha's 1d4 ⇒ 2 skin starts to freeze and she shivers as the chemicals wash over her 3d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2) = 10 (10 cold damage for Aviendha, DC 15 reflex save for half)

1d20 + 3 ⇒ (13) + 3 = 16 One of the bottles on the table bounces on the floor and rolls into a corner where it spins around 2 times and then stops.

Aviendha then slashes her great sword at the green goblin putting it down.

Correct, Revvy. Also, Aviendha, can you keep an updated current HP total on your posts or on the character description? It's really hard to know if you need healing.

Because Samuel is move 20ft and there were hard corners preventing 5ft steps I can't make it, so double move.

Hiro charges his dagger with a bit of his own arcane energy while the others get into the room. He then quickly moves from cover to sneak attack the closest goblin and get into a position to flank them if they end up being more of a challenge than the one Aviendha brought down with one swing.

"Make it quick and don't let them turn over the other tables, could be some useful stuff here!"

Sneak Attack: 1d20 + 8 ⇒ (12) + 8 = 20
